You say they are F-15D in the description but then call them Strike Eagles lol The D model is just a 2-seat F-15C for training F-15C Pilots. The E model is also a 2-seat but it is a dedicated Strike Fighter and entirely different than the F-15D

I know it always looks like they go straight up but when an F-15/16 does an unrestricted climb they are actually between 45-60 degrees. You'd really be able to tell if they were 90 degrees straight up. The F-22 does it sometimes but not for long and you see it lose speed very quickly until it is basically dancing on the engines.

Not a max climb, but still very cool. This was a sort of low speed min radius climbing turn showcasing the absolutely incredible thrust to weight of the Eagle.

I was lucky enough once to be in the right place, at the right time to witness a military jet fly pass. I was taking a walk around the Malvern hills, Worcestershire, many years ago, when I here a slight rumbling sound, I'm like WTF is that, I turn around to scan the horizon, when I see just in the knick of time a military aircraft flying towards me flying between the peaks of the hills (obviously not full throttle). It scared the hell out of me, I didn't know whether to stand and watch or dive for cover, but anyway as it got up close it did a sharp turn between two peaks and flew full throttle up and into the clouds, it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen, the whole thing probably lasted no more than maybe 10-15 seconds, but boy was It loud. There must be a military base within the area.
