We'll come across her and Veronica later into the game. I won't spoil anything but Serna and Veronica are the reincarnation of one of the old heroes from the previous era. The pair of them being the reincarnation of one person plays a large part in what happens when we meet up with them later.

@@matthewrogers5598 If I'm remembering right Serena is in Arboria, the town nearest the Yggdrasil tree that we went to in the first half of the main story.

Jasper doesn't seem to try too hard to get your character and instead targets the people around you which is why he's an expecially annoying villain.

Dragon Quest XI was released in 2018. It's a long running series though so possibly it's another game from the franchise you might have played.

It is a Square Enix game yes but I don't think Microsoft has published it. Square Enix have a lot of JRPGs under their name so it could have been another one you're thinking of.

No, it was released in 2018 for PC (Windows 10) and a little earlier for the Nintendo switch and PlayStation 4. I had a quick check online and couldn't find any square Enix releases for Windows XP

I was the same, bought it back when my PC would throw a fit over having the main menu open. Glad I finally got around to it 5-6 years later when I actually was able to run it.

Got to love a good axe, regardless of the game. Honestly had a blast running about with an anchor in Elden Ring which was technically an axe by the game's definition.
