Its beautiful but imo you should've made the bottom half doors rather than shelves so you can store random "unaesthetic" stuff
Totally a preference thing, she has one in the main living room like that so for this room having a true library wall was the goal :)
Money
It was in total less than $2k, I know that’s a lot of money but for a custom built in not bad!

Why didn't you just build real wood units and leave overpriced IKEA crap out of the mix.
This was for a family member and the price of ikea was the same as plywood but the time we saved not building the units and just beefing them up with a better backing saved us a good week of work on our end. In the end it was their decision, we offered to build it out but she wanted the easier option for us!

"I'd she hates pink and flowers, then we'll change it." <- this made me smile. So many parents can be really stubborn about what they let their kids interact with. Hearing you state without any sort of issue that you'd be willing to change things to make your child happy is very important, imo.
I know what you went through I always pictured myself having a daughter and now i'm pregnant with my second son, and while i'm happy that my first son will have a little brother and I know I will love him no matter what I feel like i'm mourning the family I envisioned for myself. I dont know if my husband will want to have anymore kids after this one, and I dont know if I want to try again and then have another boy.
Hi!! I love how the room turned out. I’m considering getting this exact same rug, but it’s hard to tell what faint colors are in it. I know it’s mostly a faded almost black color, but it looks like there is a tad bit of color to it in certain areas in the center. Can you tell me what those colors are?
Hi! That rug has been the best thing ever, and the colors are so good! It’s a tan and a mauve like color but it’s faint so it will go with almost any color scheme, I have the same one for my kitchen runner because it is seriously so good

I'm impressed you could roll out that Ruggable by yourself so well! I have a smaller one and it takes me a couple of tries, lol. I have been wanting that exact Ruggable for years!
This was my 3rd one so I've learned how to do it by now, my first one was a little more difficult lol! This is my favorite pattern for sure, I have it as a runner in my kitchen too lol
