I found Litla lirfan ljóta at a used media store when I last visited Iceland. I uploaded it especially for my friend who's hero is Stefán Karl. The animation can be perceived as rough or "ugly" but I think it has charm. I also uploaded an English version that Stefán and Steinnun voiced.

It has subtitles so you have no excuse not to watch it :) I uploaded it especially for my friend who's hero is Stefán Karl. The animation can be perceived as rough or "ugly" but I think it has charm.

Stefán Karl and his wife Steinunn Ólína in skits from Ferð til fjár (2011 or 2012), a series about financial education and facts. While in the same costumes, they played different roles in each of the six episodes. The two men on the couch are Helgi Seljan and Breki Karlsson. No disrespect meant to the creators, I just edited their clips together because attention spans are so short these days ...
I can't believe this stupid meme all ties back to Robbie Rotten, same actor who played him voiced the infamous worm
Handling ropes without gloves. They must have had catcher’s mitts for hands!
Insufferable overgrown brat.
WTF
They never mention that they used 3DS Max 3.0.

Go ahead: try to improve on Kipling. Extra dialogue and subplots only make it worse. Bah!!!
in the book the cook is a black scot that speaks the gaelic tongue perfectly
What a great version!
ruclips.net/video/G8hYT1xvOwc/видео.html love it
I watched the 1937 version and although i wish it was in color and that manuel lived it was still my favorite version
Awesome movie. I'm enjoying it.
Remake vraiment médiocre, à mille lieues de l'original.
Yet another remake that failed to equal the original.
The Schooner used in this version of the film is an original Gloucester Fishing schooner "Adventure" and she still sails out of Gloucester! Last week we had the Gloucester Schooner Festival here: capeannimages.blogspot.com/2023/09/gloucester-schooner-festival-2023.html
Amazing cast but a production budget of $100.
There is a scene from this movie that gave me nightmares as a kid where the captain and boy pull a dead body from the ocean and throw his knife back into the ocean. I can't find it in this video. Anyone else remember this scene? Am I misremembering? Is it not this film?
This movie version is the best portrayal of the book. There is some deviation, but the others are poor or even really bad.
I absolutely love this film, BUT, it's amazing to me how many films, and not just films; all media makes this mistake time and time again about testing a knife's edge to see if it's sharp by running your thumb lengthwise down the blade. If the knife is sharp, you're going to cut your thumb! A knife's edge is tested safely by running your thumb perpendicular to the blade; sideways across the blade in not one, but both directions to determine the sharpness of the edge and whether there is a burr on either side that needs to be removed. When I see an actor slide their thumb lengthwise down a sharpened knife, I cringe! It is so disturbing to me! More importantly, anyone seeing the film is taught the wrong way to test a sharpened edge and encourages people to slice their fingers! Why was this not stopped a long time ago? If you wanna see what I'm talking about, go to 37:48.
Me and my dad watched this together. My dad was a crewman on a long liner when I was a kid. It was cool. We loved the movie, but because he was gone summer to winter every year, we loved being able to hang out together. Sure miss ya Pops.
Thanks so much for posting this. I was a kid when this movie came out, and I never knew about it. This production is much closer to Kipling’s novel. As much as I love Spencer Tracy, Lionel Barrymore, and Freddie Bartholomew, there were just too many changes in the 1937 version to suit my taste. The book clearly emphasizes the relationships of Harvey with Dan and Disko Troop. I really enjoyed seeing actual fishing schooners and crews in action in this adaptation. I thought the casting was excellent. I’m looking forward to more of your selections.
Thanks for sharing this. I missed it when it was on TV when I was a kid. Great story and a feel good movie.
Отличная книга, отличный фильм! Спасибо!

Meu Deus! Procurei tanto por esse filme! Grata por compartilhar!!!
Rip Robbie rotten 😭😭😭
I'm amazed they made this into a movie! I discovered the book roughly the same year this movie was made. Woolworth's in downtown Honolulu had a bin of books for sale, two for $1, and I picked out White Fang by Jack London and this one. I started in reading it on the bus on the long ride home. I just about had the thing memorized. White Fang was good, but this book was a whole world. If you haven't read it, I urge you to get it, or it might even be free online.
Come to think of it, the other book may have been "The Call Of The Wild". Meh. But this book, as I said, is a world.
I love the one from 1937

Great movie! I have now seen all three versions of Captains Courageous and read the book. All Great!
Karl Malden was wonderful in this...
Watch the captains courageous with Spencer Tracey !!!
Nothing as good as the 1st
oh yeah fred gwynne herman munster is playing a fisherman
Coming of age story: spoiled brat becomes a man on a fishing schooner, after considerable resistance. Nice depiction of crew dynamics on board. Recommend. Thanks @little !
To the person who uploaded this, thank you so much! Can you please upload Island of the Blue Dolphins?
A good choice. Thank you for the upload.
Yes simple wonderful
"I worked like a horse ate like a pig and slept like a dead man"
We need more story tellers like Kipling. I read this story as a kid, and watched the original movie with Freddy Bartholomew.
Look
great watch easy life lessons great cast worth 3 looks
Well done by all involved, they gave Kipling's words a good fleshing out.
Manuel was right. Mama Mary watches out for us.
Some people never understand the responsibility, and by virtue, necessary authority, of the helm.
9.2⭐️☝️
A decent version of a great book. My great grandfather was skipper on a fishing schooner out of Gloucester, so I've always been partial to this story. Karl Malden does a good job with the New England accent, he doesn't over do it as many do.
