The 2nd bird I shot at out smarted us, we got to its landing location, and it had ran about 60 yards ahead of us and took off flying. Sorry about the wind howling into the microphone!

I know the CZ is good but I am talking myself into the RPR
Im a cz fan boy. I have this 457 and a 457 in 17hmr. A 527 in .204. 2 28 gauges they rebranded and a variety of hand guns. 😂 bergara makes great rifles also
@BasicUpland1776 That explains a lot😉
@@Fetchem_Up 😄
well gonna be a long haul till fall for more videos - take care ad good luck
Oh my God, I need to freaking retire!😂😂😂 I think we’ve all been there.
@stephenpaquet That was a rough week of shooting lol.
thanks for sharin - sure nice watchin a good dog work --have you used the new 28 ga CZ much and ur thots - mine is still in transit via the southpole i think lol oh well next fall take care
@brianve7jyd943 I tried getting my last bird with it but missed. The next spot I hunted, I needed to use non-toxic and I only had grabbed 1 box of lead for the 28. The gun is light and swings nice. It must pattern well bc I only missed 3 birds with it since I got it.
@@BasicUpland1776 awesum - Mine is on a slow boat to sumwhere lol but ill have it for fall i hope - i finished off sharptail and ruffed season with the single shot 28 -sure miss the extra shot lol take care
What gun, gauge, and load if I may ask?
Franchi affinity 3. Kent bismuth #4 3inch 1 3/8 oz
@@BasicUpland1776 how did u do with the new 28ga
@brianve7jyd943 I know I missed 3 birds with it, lol. But I'm thinking probably 15 total harvested and 1 that I remember ran after hitting the ground. Would not recommend using a 28 gauge on pheasants unless it can chamber 3" shells. I still need to pattern it. I probably should have done that today.
@@BasicUpland1776 Do you think the extended choke in the Franchi makes a difference?
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. I really enjoyed every video of you and Molly chasing pheasants.
@alraiche5529 Thanks for watching. Now we have a long wait until Dove season starts.
Thanks for sharing. I miss pheasant hunting and our season just closed a few weeks ago.
I know that feeling all to well. Thanks for watching!
The gun issue was very funny love to see real word problems. My Franchi is still 100% on reliability. You need to practice falling so you can get better at it, practice makes perfect.
@@Fetchem_UpThat's the first failure in a long time for that gun. Affinity 3's are just work horses.
@BasicUpland1776 Knock the grass out and give it some lube. Used an 870 yesterday and it was so SLOW. Definitely using an auto next time.
@Fetchem_Up I haven't shot a pump in years. I need those quick follow up shots 😆
Nice shot. That guy got up & going in a hurry. They were tricky this weekend.
Yesterday's wind was brutal. Didn't get to play today unfortunately.
Nice work. That’s why it’s called hunting. Nothing comes easy with late season pheasants.
@@dougB4454 I agree! Late season hunts are my favorite. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Tuff conditions but you and Molly did good - take care
@@brianve7jyd943 Thanks
thanks - good dog take care
Thanks for watching!
That's cool I didn't know she pointed
@Fetchem_Up She does occasionally, Most of the time Hen pheasants sit tight enough for her to point on them which doesn't make good video.
Big fan of 28 gauge. Youre the only guy with sence uniff to use a Lab. Good job.
@johngardiner3790 I don't go hunting with out her. Thanks for watching
High brass magnums from a big bore.
Goosemaster uses $12 shells lol
😢
🥰
I appreciate that explanation - i wasnt aware of that fact - ive hunted with just my personal dogs who where not trained for birds - and i have on occassion seen this just didnt know what it was - much obliged

well done again
thanks again - always enjoyable
Nice to see a good dog work - thanks
Thanks for watching! She's a great bird dog for sure.
Dang glad u were quick - up here in Canada - trap lines are on public or crown land so its alway a worry -- i carry a small pair of cable cutters in my vest all the time - cheap insurance - sure glad the girl was ok -- do they have to tag there setswith an id tag in SD
@@brianve7jyd943 No, you do in Nebraska where I grew up and trapped
@@BasicUpland1776 thanks too bad tho
Dont sweat it - we all have them days - last day of sharptails up north here - i fired 8 rounds and winged 1 bird that i had to chase down on foot lol it happens thanks for sharin - oh and i ordered a string pull clay thrower the next day lol i was thinkin on it since and i think ur comment about lookin over the barrel was on the mark for me anyway
Still not sold on the 28ga👍
@Fetchem_Up Shells are expensive and can be hard to find. I'm not sold on it either, but it's fun to change things up and I gotta have my poop in a group if I want to hit anything with it.
@@BasicUpland1776 I'll be honest I don't know what you mean" gotta have my poop in a group to hit any thing" I thought we were talking about 28ga. Not throwing s**t. Shure your not from Cali?
@@BasicUpland1776 hang in there with the 28 - youll end up lovin it trust me
Molly's special
@@tomshuffleton1165 I believe every bird dog you put effort in to is.
Thanks, I think this summer we might try getting a field trial ribbon before I decide to have her bred.
real nice hunt thanks - that isnt the CZ - what were you using there
@@brianve7jyd943 franchi affinity 3. I have one with wood furniture and one with synthetic camo furniture. Both 12 gauge
@@BasicUpland1776 much obliged must be before you got the 28
thanks for sharing - again you and ur critter dont give up on a harvested bird and retrieve ur shells when possible - us sportsmen appreciate that - take care
Good find - alotta folks wudnt even have bothered - good on you and Molly - take care
Dang fine hunt thanks for sharing - Molly sure does a good job for you - take care
Thankya Sir - a real nice video - question if i may what breed is Molly -- i just ordered a CZ Bobwhite G2 side by side in 28 - looking forward to it - thanks again
@brianve7jyd943 that's what I originally went in to buy but they were out of stock. She is an American labrador
@@BasicUpland1776 they sure are a sweet firearm - they had one but was sold but when i picked it up -- had to have it -- you know what i mean thanks for replyin take care
@@brianve7jyd943 No problem, and good luck
forgot to ask - were u using the M and IM chokes in this vid ?
@brianve7jyd943 IM and full. I havent patterned them yet or even shot at a bird with the full. IM is absolutely lethal out to 35 yards with #5 lead fiocchi golden pheasant
Awesome! Beautiful bird. Good shot. Love the pup working… glad to see I’m not the only one with a lab who is a bit of a spaz. Haha!
@@AmericanArmsChannel glad you understand the frustration of a bird drunk 1.5 year old lab lol
Great job!
Shoots like I do, somedays😂
@sheldonkelly3124 some days you blast off and some days you just smoke lol
I’m loving this!! Video opens up with you tramping through the winter cattails, YES! Way too many videos want to get in your face and talk about stuff forever before getting into the field, or up the tree, or setting lines on the boat. Thank God you understand the importance of just getting into it so we can enjoy what you are sharing here. I’ve had some fantastic experiences over the years while chasing wild roosters, late season in the cattails. Can’t wait to do it again someday….thanks.
I’d have to actually shoot worse than you to be able to leave a negative comment lmao enjoyed the video! 😂
Your channel is sure taking off, good job.
I've only seen 2 coveys of bobwhite quail my entire life
@1776cootsflybynight So you only have pheasant? I thought there'd be more quail there.
@Fetchem_Up The quail were actually in North East Nebraska, where I grew up.
Guessing this was not on public land in January as public land birds typically won’t hold that tight even at the start of the season.
@@JoeJohnson-bi1nl You know more than I do! Thanks for watching 👀
I didn't have that kind of flush but still managed to practice involuntary rooster conservation on two wide open shots. All you can do is laugh.
@in.hindsight I agree, also your channel is awesome!
Redemption on the last 2 birds! That massive flush was the rush!! Never seen anything like it 🎉
@alraiche5529 I only see it late in the season! Man it's something special too
Usually I don't care for foul language on videos but this one had me in stitches! That one about the wad had me falling out of my chair!! Hilarious and oh so real!! Terrible shooting but awesome entertainment!!
Glad you got a laugh, I will be trying to cut the profanity down.
Sometimes ya just gotta laugh. Been there so many times. Good on your pup to still find that first downed one after all that commotion.
@@DecoyDemonHer ADHD isn't as bad as mine lol
This looks like a pay place down by Gregory.
I might need to get on some Flare Nares to build some confidence back up. 😂
Always good to be able to laugh at yourself.
I agree!
