Child Sexual Abuse is a nation-wide epidemic. Our silence provides the perfect breeding ground for this disease to live and spread. So let's start talking.

Ep. 02: Four Signs Your Relationship Might Be In Trouble How To Fix Things
Very deep but necessary conversation for our community. ❤
Thank you for tuning in😊
In the Caribbean what does it mean to allow children to be children? This hit deep and it's a conversation that's ppl need to talk about. When I look back I know that I wasn't allowed to be a child . That affected my adulthood.
- Teaching children to be responsible without overwhelming them with the responsibility of taking care of the family. - Allowing them to engage in age-appropriate play - Protecting their tender minds from an oversexualized world, so that they grow up with a healthy view of intimacy and sex - Not allowing children to participate in/overhear "adult" conversations ....and the list goes on. That topic deserves a video to itself!! You and I may need to sit down and do a video on this one😊
This episode was very triggering- brought up a lot of emotions, but it needs the light. Jamaica is a very traumatic society. I’ve always said if I was there, I wouldn’t have children. Stockholms is definitely real.
Bwoy, oh bwoy...this is certainly a tough topic to address😢 And I get where you are coming from. It's hard to bring children into this world if you feel like you can't protect them. And in a society where we sweep these issues under the rug and keep things on the down-low, our children will suffer in silence.

This was much needed. Very powerful. I'm sitting asking myself all these questions.
Thank you!
This is a powerful conversation. Thank you for having it. Unless we hear it in this manner without the sugar coating we might not know how serious it is. Well done ladies, keep the awareness going.
Thank you for listening in ❤
Powerful message. Thank you.
This is a very interesting yet intense discussion. As a Caribbean parent and educator there are things that l agree with but other things that need more indept decisions. Bring on part 2.
I agree! This is a highly multifaceted issue! There is so much more we could talk about. Stay tuned as we continue to have these conversations.
Some persons just aren’t mentally healthy.
Agreed! And that's why we need to know what "healthy" is and what it isn't so we don't set ourselves up for failure.
Are you a Mormon? I’m a Mormon.
This was a discussion that sadly needed to be had. It’s crazy how normal we thought a lot of this was growing up in Jamaica especially when it comes to the punishment. I’m praying this generation makes a change!
Gosh, I hope so too mi sista❤
Wow. Some sad topics, but what an amazing discussion. Looking forward to part 2.
Glad you enjoyed it babe😘
Dear one, I couldn’t post a comment on Max and Julie’s video of the loss of their children and I thought to post here. What a beautiful lovely couple and my heart breaks for them. I know all too well the pain of losing a child as it will be 1 year on May 23rd that I lost my 18yr old firstborn boy. Their testimony helped me so much. Indeed we have a wonderful Heavenly Father as dear Max stated so well. Praise be to God. Thank you for that precious video ❤ God bless you dear.
I am so so sorry for your loss😥. What a terrible heartache that must be💔. I'm glad you found strength in Max and Julie's story. That was the hope🙏
Thank you.
Of course😊
I know what I want. I just don’t know how to get there. As a person with undiagnosed ADHD, it’s definitely hard to manage money because of the numerous hobbies and activities that catches my attention 😅. The lack of accountability will definitely drive you down hill.
I get that! I think more people struggle with this than you might realize. I would say, there's nothing wrong with having different hobbies and exploring but we just have to budget around it. So before we go off and start funding our new hobby we wait a while, make sure there is room for it in the budget and then we proceed. It's all about PRACTICE.
I like what you said about identifying goals. If you and your partner are regularly disagreeing/stressed about a topic, then you spend some time identifying the root cause and making goals around it. Using your example of the car repairs, if you are constantly facing unexpected repair costs on your car, maybe a worthy short term goals is buying a new vehicle.
Exactly! There isn't one way to do it. But usually there is a better way and we just have to figure out what it is together.
I love this … transparency is key.
Oh yes!
Just found your channel and loving the content ❤
That makes me very happy❤️ I'm so glad you're here!
I just found your channel and watched several of your podcasts. Great content. I’ve been married decades now but this is all good advice! Happily subscribed. I also - several years ago - also had my then teen age kids take the quiz to get their love language. It’s really helpful for all the family to get in on this. Doesn’t cure everything certainly, but helps smooth out some rough spots.
This comment has filled my heart! Thank you for letting me know ❤️
You are so right on! Thank you for this!!
I am so glad it helped😊
Truth 😆
😂😂
I am so grateful for this conversation. Now l know l was always stuck in week 3 such a pity that most most of us are not educated on these issues. Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome❤️
Why do I feel like I live in week 3 😂
DWL🤣🤣yuh might!
This was so informative… I learned so much 😊
I'm so glad!
I’m so excited❤
I recently subscribed to the channel and I must say this is amazing Shannaye. Loved the pearls of wisdom from Cori. Looking forward to more interviews from the legacies of love series ❤
Welcome to the channel! I'm so happy to have you. I'll most definitely be working on adding to the series.
😂😂😂😂
😂
Hopefully the second one 😘
Lol😂 ikr
Can't wait 😊
Awe❤️Thank you!!
I love the first point about getting to know someone is more than asking them questions about themselves. You touched on the fact that "actions speak louder than words"; that in the courting phase, everyone is on their best behavior; and that others can tell us a lot about someone too. In accounting/auditing, external evidence preferred over internal evidence. For example, if a client says they have $1,000,000 in the bank, but their bank says they have only $900,000, the auditors will go with what the bank says because the bank has no incentive to "cook the books". The same good be applied to dating. Of course, someone's character is a lot more subjective than a bank balance (and other people may not be aware of all the circumstances and nuances of your potential partner's life), but it's something to keep in mind.
Brilliant insight! Thank you❤
I’m really big on creating a routine.
Yes… the justification is real
Oh yes!
Been in self denial for a long time. 😢
It happens to so many of us. But at least you've taken the first step of recognizing that you're doing it❤❤
Know your partner and yourself will help you to understand what works. Sometimes what you see others doing is just for show.
So true!
If we are not showing our spouse what we need then it will be hard/ impossible for our partner to cater to our needs.
Exactly! I completely agree that we have to take the guess work out of it as best as we can!
Get to know yourself. Figure out what you are expecting from your spouse. If you both KNOW what turns you on/off you can COMMUNICATE it clearly to each other.
I like the quote HAPPINESS IS NOT A DESTINATION. well said
It sure isn't!
Geez that post 😢
It hit home fi mi, nah lie!
This is definitely my favourite episode so far. The hardest part for me has been figuring out what my purpose in life is. This has given me so much food for thought. Thank you ❤
I'm so glad you loved it😊 When it comes to purpose just remember those two questions: Why am I alive? And for what would I die? I know you'll figure it out❤️😘
I’ve been loving your content and learning so much on your channel.
Oh gosh! Thank you❤️
It's a journey filled with emotional damages and struggles. And if they're only happiness then you're not truly happy. You're damaged emotionally so you tell yourself you're happy and it becomes your reality....
Some people when they don’t know what is happening or understand they will say things like that- “it’s stupid, it’s not good”… but I agree I feel like he feels left out.
Yeah, it can be so destructive when we don't know how to properly communicate what we're feeling.
Don't forget to share your perspective, especially if you've been in a similar situation. I would love to hear your thoughts!
I love your explanation... truly a great teacher 😊
Thank you❤
"Self-awareness"
Love everything about this
Thanks for sharing this. I needed to hear this. I am one of those people who think this everyday.
You are welcome! I hope this video brought you some clarity❤️
This is a tough one. Well explained.
It is a tough one fi true...and something that we constantly have to revisit.
Family, Faith, and Service ❤
