Put a couple of layers of duct tape around the badge before the prying, will do less damage

I don't like how much the pleather gets damaged in this process. Ima just scrape the fake chrome off for better adhesion. I could also make a note of where the tabs are and drill into each, shallow and wide. Then a pick might pull the logo right off.

How has this been holding up. I want to do the same with my Toyota steering wheel but im worried it won’t stick long since the oem badge is partially recessed in grooves

😡 FYI: Everyone fail to realize why those emblems are made into that cover. It is a safety measure in case that airbag ever deployed. The force will send that emblem flying directly to your face and possibly put your eye out! I'm just saying!😲

The jdm emblems are so nice. I just put one on the steering wheel of my Element.

You seen the carbon insert to replace the silver insert on your wheel that would look good with the new emblem

You realize that the adhesive was designed to stick to the old emblem. By removing it you reduced the surface area of the adhesive. So basically this was a bad tutorial. You just need adhesion promoter and it will never come off.

I used a scrap of black vinyl wrap to cover the worn Honda emblem on my steering wheel. It's holding up fine after a few years and looks good.

OMG what an idiot did that. How could you destroy stering wheel like you did, there is one golden rule, do not use any metal tools to dissassemble anything in interior or painted elementals. Try to give a good advise, you should heat things up before trying to remove the badge, use plastic tools and so on. Terrible tutorial

This should not have happened in the first place if Honda was still putting quality ahead of the profit margin...If a company doesn't even care enough to make their emblem from quality material what does this more than likely say for the rest of the car. Personally anything made of rubber on my 8th gen has gone bad including window seals, o-rings, roof channels not to mention all the screws are rusting as well as exterior body panels. Shame on you Honda

you didn't need to undo the fuse, just undo one of the terminals on the battery. then you dont worry about the airbag accidentally going off :)

I'd rather paint the real shit after getting it off as opposed to putting that fake thing that will eventually fall off. Good job though.

You have to take apart the steering wheel, then disconnect the airbags, then you simply just push out the old badge and replace it.

when your air bag deploys, that thing is going right into your face/eye. good luck.
