XCP-ng: building an open source and turnkey virtualization platform
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
We were expecting to see version 6!
Only minor critique... this needs to be recorded in HD. All of the UI text is blurry.
Great Presentation, it answered many questions that I have about the transition from xenserver to xcp-ng
Where can you specify network for live migration in XO? Is it on the pool network tab or on each host separately? I was searching for this option but cannot find in anywhere.
Pool/advanced tab/scroll to the bottom
@@olivierlambert4101 Thanks Olivier , indeed, it's there.

Thank you for your video 😒
Thank you guys at XCP-ng so much!!!! For all the hard work you do. Last night I upgraded my XCP-ng hosts to latest version 8.3 and it was absolutely smooth. I have to say your hypervisor really JUST WORKS! This level of precession and reliability is unique. So far have XCP-ng in few lab environments only, mainly for testing and non-critical services, but if there is ever need to deploy commercial hypervisors than XCP-ng is my No. 1 choice.
Thank you very much, I will tell the team about your kind words, they will truly appreciate that people are acknowledging their hard work.
Congratulations to the 8.3 release. Impressive work! 👏🏻
Iam from india but i,m working xcp-ng platform
Hi Calleague please share more troubleshot video for xcp-ng
Hi Calleague please share me xcp-ng troubleshot video
when will you fix the popup text which has random time? How to reproduce: 1. open Home - Storage 2. open Storage Repository 3. drag mouse over the disk. The time of popup info is different every time. it can be 10 secs, it can be 30secs, it can be 1 sec - annoying. Browsers: Chrome (latest), Firefox (latest). Preferred: when mouse over disk - text is on. mouse off - text off.
It should be fixed now!
Would be nice if you could add the xo-cli default to the xcp-ng servers instead of relying on npm and internet to install it. It was rather hard to install it on our test environment because of the need of a http proxy. I had to add it not only to the environment, but also to curl, npm and git (on the latter two I had to use the --global flag to add the http proxy).
Hi! XO CLI is bundled in XOA, there's no point of having it in the Dom0 since it's only meant to be for control XO API, not XCP-ng API (otherwise, you can use xe). Using Node in the Dom0 is also a very bad idea and will augment the attack surface. The right approach is to leave the Dom0 untouched as possible and only interact via XO API or XCP-ng API. Also, the new XO API using REST means a simple HTTP GET/PUT call can send orders, reducing the need for another client.
congrats on the xen 4.19 release (manager ;)! love these videos, (and really appreciate the timestamps!) as I watch them while compiling the new version :) one recommendation I have would be to link to the blog post(s) you mention in the description. adding the backups status to the XO6 dashboard is very cool! tbh, i forget there is a dashboard in 5.x so looking forward to giving it a try in 6.x! i think having the tree view and the dashboard by default (instead of home) will make the new home screen much better than 5.x.
Marc is the guy to congrats for the timestamp, a big thanks to him! Thanks for the feedback, we'll add the links :)
How do I implement REST API integration with Express to show all VMs and other things? Can you please help me out?
great work! super excited fro XO6 and xcp-ng 8.3 :) that IPMI looks very cool and looking forward to it being available on HPE :) ETA: for the xo-lite, i like your solution for loading the latest version over the network when available, but i'm curious does it also download and cache that update locally in case the network goes down? if not, do you forsee any issues with "downgrading" to the local version if network is lost?
Hi! Javascript is loaded on your browser at initial load, and that's it. As long as you do not refresh the page with F5, you'll keep the version loaded initially.
Any update on XOSTOR? Is it production ready?
How long does the process of deploying XOA take until we can access it?
Depends on your bandwidth. From 20 seconds to few minutes, tops 20 if you have a slow peering with our DC.
@@olivierlambert4101 noted thankyou

Thank you for the Webinar. I was not able to attend it, but gladly watched it now. Also nice Princess Mononoke Avatar Ronan had.
Thnaks mate, i think i have my setup correct now! very helpful.
Regarding XO v6, I think it look pretty, but I'm not sure I find it functional. The console do open really quickly which I love, but the list on the left as it is right now, except for being visually pleasing, I'm more meh than anything. I would make a merge icon between the cluster and host if have only 1 host per cluster (But this might complicate things if you wanted to add right click support... But I think it would really look better. I find there is too much space between the items, maybe between cluster there could be that amount of space, but make the space between the guest smaller. And it need a bunch of filtering or ordering options as well. Lot of work ahead, but looking forward seeing it.
The Airgap initiative is really interesting, especially for OT environments. Patch/ update management in air gapped scenarios, is that on the road map for both hypervisor and XOA, as well as initial install?
Hi! Indeed, we have plans to provide "offline updates" for our airgap plan subscribers, both for XCP-ng and XO. We are even designing a fully offline "updater" that will be able to assign extra subscriptions if you purchase them later on (bind/unbind subscriptions if you change hosts and so on). It clearly became more and more requested in the last few months, that's why we are pushing this forward now.
I am really glad to see such commitment from you and your team. I am excited for the open source revolution. And XCP-NG is a strong product!

Thank you very much It matters a lot to have this kind of feedback, I'm very proud on what our teams are able to achieve every month
I'm really surprised to not see more comments about this. It sounds exciting.
We aren't on RUclips since very long, but I'm pleased to see there's more and more comment after each video!
Thanks for the update! Awesome awesome progress, super exciting stuff.
Thank you very much, I'm passing this to our teams, they'll be really happy to know this kind of feedback 👍
Enhance the user interface. VMware remains the leader in this regard, offering a significantly more aesthetically pleasing interface.
This is what is holding me back.. the interface, 6 looks promising
I think it could also be a nice QoL update to add folders to the tree-view to tuck VMs in that might share the same functionality purely from an organizational standpoint. I hope that kinda makes sense? Love the update so far and can’t wait to see XO6 and XO Lite!!!
One of the live comments suggested that XOA on Raspberry Pi would be nice... XO from sources already works on Raspberry Pi 4 with 4GB or more of RAM. I've run it on my RasPi400 just fine. I could not get it to run on a 2GB or lower ram board, no matter how I tried and gave up. Maybe something to talk about in the next update, and also shows that XOA could be done on a Pi with just Raspian and use Pi Imager to create the image. It's a good idea and something I suggest to everyone to have at least one XO from sources on a standalone device. It's just nice to have an XO outside of your pool, just in case things go badly. If you make a standalone XOA this might be a good idea too.
thank you so much for this platform! you're a lifesaver for a lot of us that manage smaller to midsize businesses that cannot afford vmwares new insane pricing structure.
Thank you!
Did you say you use Vue JS components for XOA?
For XO Lite and XO 6, yes. It was React before (for XO 5).
Thank you for the update!
Thank you for the update! I love the continual progress made by the team.
I didn't understand where XOA is installed if I assign a static IP. What should I do if I want to use it in a LAN without internet access?
XOA is a pre-configured VM downloaded from our servers. If you do not have any Internet access in the first place, you won't be able to use the quick deploy scenario anyway. But other methods exists and we even have a fully air gap process if needed.

wow that news about the k8s management is really exciting! pyrgos has always frustrated me in that I think the concept is great but the provisioning felt unreliable and difficult to debug. it's nice to see the progress there and I can't wait to test it.
Hey thanks! Your feedback on this feature is crucial, so if you have any problem, happy to assist on our community forum!
You need to raise the sound level by _a lot_. It's very quiet.
I disagree, it sounds fine. Check your setup.
@@purian23 But it IS quieter than many other videos. No need to deny that fact. Not by "a lot" though, about 6dB RMS.
Instead of 2 sets of accounts I had 3. * Admin * Register XOA *XOA Machine Maybe you should try setting up everything new. This was frustrating seeing different fields. And I had already registered with XOA, email & PW.
Hello there, we are really not sure to fully understand your issue. Are you talking about the different credentials to access the appliance, the console and the email you use to link your appliance to a Xen Orchestra website account?
I'm struggling to find where you can create the Kubernetes cluster. Is Pyrgos a XOA exclusive feature or is also available for XO built from source?
Hi! Since it's using a template that we host on our servers, it's only for XOA. But it should work even on XOA Free :) In the future, we'll see if we add a possible registration of your XO from the sources to enjoy the hub (with templates and recipes)
Good stuff!
It's great that you got to a top level submitter into the Xen project.
Yes, we are proud of it! And that's just a start, we really want Vates to become one of the largest contributor to the great Xen Project :)
Nice update! 😃 Looking forward to update.
Thank you so much! You guys and gals are so wonderful for working on all this code to change the world of hypervisors for the better. ❤
Pricing for XOstor? I have a small system for a college department and sometimes the pricing gets way more than my small budget can supply. I'd ask this in the forums, but every time I try to register, I don't get an activation email back. Since I have extra drive bays in my XCP-NG servers, I'd really like to fill them and use them as primary storage and have them "hyperconverged" to keep some level of failure tolerance. Maybe transition to HA after I get everything working. otherwise, the development work on all the products looks great. Looking forward to working with XO-lite more in the future to get things up and running fast.
Very exited about XOSTOR keep it up this is going to be fun
