was the car sputtering and stalling???
I tried the polyurethane. It worked just one day and the extreme heat from the muffler made it bulge out.. I ended up removing the polyurethane filling. I wasted my time and money just to get this so called modification .
dude thats a clean engine bay for a 2006, just picked one up mine aint that nice, 78k miles on her
Lujin Customs, i have a 2005 Scion xA and planning to do the three engine mounts.. I see the rear one is the most challenging.. You used the Loctite brand polyurethane for roofing .. How did it turn out? Is it making it too stiff that its defeating the purpose o f absorbing the vibrations? Would you recommend i do it or just leave it original with the gaps? Did you also apply the material on the new transmission mount (driver side) and the front engine mount (passenger side)?
I have a 2004 Scion xA and it was just my luck to have a cheap turkey baster that couldn't suck up crap. I used a syringe instead which took longer but got the job done. I wish they just could have designed a port to plug in and flush out the old fluid. Oh well thx for sharing.
Can I use any brand as long as it's synthetic? And how many times do I have to check it? Once a week? I also have a Scion xb, my dad gifted it to me not too long ago. I'm quite new to all of this.
Great video!!! Good job!!!
Hey what brand of strut was it and how much lowering did it promise ?
I tried that method you found, coming out is still not easy but getting bolts to align when putting them in is a bigger nightmare. I won’t ever do it like this again.
No linky.
What you did with the red/blk wires?
I'm definitely trying this with my 2010 yaris. the engine flops and vibrates a lot especially at idle with the ac on. it's been that way since I got the car in 2012.
I’ll try again. I was able to remove the old mount and set in the new one however I couldn’t get the bottom 1 1/4” bolt lined up with the engine. I used the scissor Jack to raise and lower the transmission with the Scion Xa on jack stands but just couldn’t get it to line up. I see that used raised it by pushing directly on the transmission pan. I’ll use a block of wood and try that.
I jacked up this morning, making sure to have it level and I used my ramps. I ended up using my floor Jack because the transmission was too high for the Scion scissor Jack. After all of that setup, dropping the 1 1/2” bolt countless times, prying with a prybar, I just couldn’t get the bolt to bite horizontally and start threading. I had the tranny all jacked up and the hole was aligned but dang, trying to get the bolt to rotate and start biting in that tiny space…I’m beat. Disappointed that I couldn’t make it work. I debated removing the engine catcher thing but TRC said I’d need an alignment. I might as well pay a mechanic to install the engine mount and not have to get the car aligned. Same amount of money.
$300 from my mechanic because I couldn’t get the bottom most bolt started. Mechanic said it took him four hours, including loosening the front mount to get the bottom bolt to go into the transmission. Sigh!
@@johnbouldin9033 when assembling things sometimes you gotta loosen all the bolts that hold a thing on to get it to line up the one bolt you removed from the set. Next time just remember that.
@@johnbouldin9033 Like Borkery said.... and sometimes you may need to completely remove all the bolts and start with the one you are having problems with, or sometimes you can put an easier bolt in that will help line things up first. Edit. I did that mount on my 2005 XA automatic. It was a pain to do because of very tight bolts but I could probably do it in an hour next time since I didn't over tighten them.
what year is this scion xb.. thanks love the video
2006 Scion xb
Hello, what size are your wheels and tires?
Thank you for your insight, have a similar Scion purchased at 90k miles and has just hit over 100k. Love this little toaster 😂. Fortunate to have lived and work in Japan, so little cars like these I’ve always liked. Funny is I was troubleshooting a possible squealing pulley/belt issue isolation and stumbled across this video and and realized I’ve been meaning to do a transmission flush like this myself but was always hesitant based on complexity. I need to get more intimate with my cars 😊 You’ve made it so approachable, so thank you 🙏 for posting. So true about the marketing ploy regarding fluid changes and recommendations. Mazda dealership once told me my Mazda doesn’t need a coolant flush due to their design and system. Had me puzzled to this day and still confused whether I should get it serviced or not. Worst thing about trusting the industry mechanics is their recommend procedures then pay for it but ultimately work is never down or half assed done if that. Thanks again.
Do u have to buy a Toyota part or can u get the part at a auto parts store
Good video!😊
Thanks for the vid! Only thing I’d chip in is that I’d recommend not using stainless bolts as they may not corrode but they do not have the shear strength like a grade 8 or better bolt would.
Thank you for making content. Any plans for aftermarket fans and radiators?
yup! everything is looking bad, exhaust hanger mounts rotted right off this month, had to rig something up under those rear tow hanger things
Ouch! Sounds like you may want to track down a spare chassis for the future
@@LujinCustom for some reason it looks pretty good 🤔😂
Did you wind up with more power or fuel mileage?
No. Via the O2 sensor, the ecu trims the fuel back. So basically, larger fuel injectors are unnecessary until there’s a need for them
Good work and very informative thanks for sharing
AWSOME BROTHER LOVED THE VIDEO GIVS ME HOPE AND PERSAVERIST I USED TO BUILD CUSTOM CHOPPERS AND HOT RODS GOT SICK OF ALL THAT AND THEN WAS DIANGNOSED WITH CANCER SO I ALWAYS WANTED A SCION XB I HAVE STAGE 3 CANCER AND IM GONNA GO ON SOME TRIPS IN MY SCION AFTER I GET IT FINISHED,LOVED THE VIDEO KEEP DOING THEM YOU MAKE GOOD VIDEOS GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIEND,

hello and i just got a scion xb and i want to lower it also were did you get the springs?? and does it go over speed bumps??? love your channel i got a blox air filter also have not put it in and were did you get yre wheels????
Hey thanks! My toaster is lowered but not slammed. No driving issues. The rims and springs I actually got from Tire Rack. The tires came from Amazon
Appreciate you dude! thank you
Great job 👏, very informative video
Thanks
Sweet video, just in time for me to replace mine.
Awesome
nice! I wish I could have seen where the cooler got hooked up besides that thank you!
Of the two OEM cooler lines, I removed the far left one. The aftermarket cooler comes with a line. I eyeballed the lengths for cutting. I may do a RUclips Short/Reel in a couple of days, to show the routing
@@LujinCustom Appreciate you!
@@VentingEmos thank you 😊
They look great. Are they on the dim side?
Thank you for this! I love the approach to this
I do the same with the brake fluid in the master cylinder. Replaced it with DOT 4.
@@LujinCustom oh whats the difference between dot 3 and 4?
@@VentingEmos dot 4 is newer, synthetic (often) and has better temp properties. I think there was something else, but I forgot.
???????
That video is dropping later today 🤣
Sent this to brother dan whom has been scolded over this exact scenario 🤣😂
Yes man LOVE IT! Thank you so much for making rotating the video!
Thanks for continuing to support my channel! 👍
This was a very informative video, I’m looking forward seeing more projects on your xb. Take care my friend. 👍
Thanks for watching and your input
I highly suggest you invest in like an actual camera its hard to watch this man I do support that you are a Scion xb youtuber though like seriously!
Thanks. I’ll cross that bridge when it makes financial sense. Obviously I’m not a camera person. For now, recording and uploading is easier with the iPhone.
@@LujinCustom well why not a iphone holder that way it fits the whole screen?
@@VentingEmos oh you mean turning the phone sideways?
@@LujinCustom sort of like a selfie stick to make it easier to film or hold it sideways yes
@@VentingEmos oh I have a tripod and ring light and all that jazz. Even used the tripod once in this video. The problem is space.
💀📦✌️🔥🔰
Great video, I like the new wheels and tires setup. When I did my setup I used koni struts with eibach springs. Also I removed the front sway bar links and it helps when intalling the new struts. Then I replaced my sway bar links with Energy Suspension 25mm Front Sway Bar Bushing Set (8.5130G) polyurethane sway bar links and it made a big difference in the handling. Did you installed your strut bump stop that sits on the strut shaft under the dust boot? I didn’t see it on the video, it helps from premature failure to your struts. 👍
Hey thanks for watching! I already have the poly sway bar bushings and end links installed. I still need to do the lower control arms in poly. Toyota is using Tokico upfront and KYB in the back and that’s good enough for me. I’m not setting up for track usage. Yeah the bump stops are in there. They practically looked new still, just a little yellowed. When I installed the rear sway bar, IMHO, it made the most difference in handling.
@@LujinCustom yes my friend, enjoy your new setup. Would love to see a video on the control arms bushing and intake manifold. 👍
@@miguelmendez4718 I need to finish relocating the battery before I install the intake. Plus I have a couple more tweaks to the 1zz throttle body. The LCA bushings should be happening pretty soon. I already have them. So many mini projects going on with my toaster🤣
@@LujinCustom it’s always like that
Great video what year can I look 👀 up for the yaris oil dip stick , I hate my plastic one.
I’d say anything 2007+ with the 1.5l engine. I don’t think the dealership even carries the plastic ones anymore
@@LujinCustom ok 👍 thanks buddy
@@miguelmendez4718 no problem
Hey ben!
Tell me about the map calibration thing you have please
It’s a piggyback module that allows you to tweak the MAF signal being sent to the ecu. I’m still testing it.
Did you ever get it dialed in Lujion?
Disclaimer: I am not a mechanic. If you increase the capacity of your injectors wouldn't you need to increase the rate of fuel flow? Or is there enough from the stock pump? At that point, you'd probably need a stand-alone ECU.
No, the pump can handle more flow, as long as it’s not significantly more(50% power demand increase). If I remember correctly, the 1zz injectors are only 10cc-20cc bigger. At some point I’m going to swap out for a different engine that will definitely require a standalone.
Thanks for all the info. It looks like you were able to keep your factory battery by mounting the filter onto a 90 degree 2.5" hose coupler, right?
Yes I kept the factory battery. However it’s mounting is modified
@@LujinCustom Did you ever find out if the new injectors fixed the issue?
@@JPDrew3 they don’t
Great video do have a link to the handles 👍
