Cheap DIY Steering Stem swap for Custom Triumph Chopper.
This is how I fitted a Yamaha front end into a Custom Fenland frame with HD bearings for very little money. GUERRILLA BUILT.

I'm doing a quick front end modification on this '07 Harley Night Train. I'm extending the forks by 6" but retaining the same ride height by adding 5 degrees in the Steering stem and keeping the Trail sensible. DIY Motorcycle Brake Caliper - Piston Removal Puller Tool
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.Год назад
A cheap way to make a a Brake Piston puller to avoid damages while stripping a seized Caliper. These Calipers are from a Honda VTR1000 Firestorm / CBR900 Fireblade. The same can be made without a Lathe, but I did it this way to build a collection of various sizes for future use.

Mate, I'm part way through a T140V strip and stuff like this makes life a load easier, cheers!!!
Britishbikedoctor on Ebay have tonnes of T140 Engine Spares.
“We salute you!!” Dallas tx
Thanks, hope it helped. Liverpool, England
Классно смотрится сУпЕр респект байкерам😊
Thx mate, much easier to understand than listening to a yank do it 😂. Running sweet as a nut now.
Glad it helped
Hi are you from Liverpool am local am having problems getting my gears selected going down I have just bought a bonerville 1969 650 what would I need to adjust to get them in Engage better thank sean the gears are alright going up ? But knit down ?
Always a pleasure watching an update from you bud.
Nicely done chris
Same for Suzuki 1985 ?
Which bike have you got?
Lots of 4 speed gearbox videos on RUclips but not many 5 speed, so thanks for doing this one. I need to take gear box apart and I was a bit overwhelmed at the thought, but after watching this video (and one other that I found) I feel better about doing it. The other video I watched shows someone assembling a T160 gearbox, which is pretty much the same as the T140 5 speed from what I've been told.. just slightly longer main shaft, but same gears and set up.
It doesn't take long if you have all new parts to hand.
@@guerrillabuildchoppers4823 what special tools should I get for this job? I'm planning on getting a clutch hub puller and a sprocket nut wrench? (I figure I might as well put a new front sprocket on while I'm in there.) Any other special tools I'll need to take the transmission out for inspection then put it back together?
Some new Tab washers are handy but it depends on the reason for dismantling it? Easier to put 1 order in. The clutch puller number is 61-7014 from Britishbikedoctor.
@@guerrillabuildchoppers4823 Thank you. I'm going to take it apart to find out why I'm occasionally going into neutral from 3rd gear on the down shift. It never happens while I'm upshifting, and it doesn't happen every time. I'm thinking it could be a warn camplate or shifter fork, but who knows. I'm hoping to see some obvious wear when I take it apart. Th plan is to order the tools I'll need, then place another order once I'm able to examine everything and see what I'm replacing. I'm a little worried I won't see any obvious wear and won't know what to replace. I replaced all the springs in the outer gearbox cover and in the indexing plunger, but that didn't seem to solve the problem.
It was a cracking Euro Run.
Happy days bruv, absolutely gutted about not being able to go STDE 🙏💎💙
Thats the beauty of it. Its never too long to wait....
Please allow me a question. Lately I changed the front sprocket on my T120 O.I.F. After all was remounted and the rear chain was adjusted, I had a disturbing experience. Mind you, she is my first Triumph. With a screwdriver between the primary case and the clutch (with little force) I can slightly move the clutch horizontally and the tension of the rear chain changes a wee bit as well. Are the said movements compensated by the antagonal reaction forces of the two chain drives during operation? Cheers!
Replacing Gearbox bearings is a really common job. Sounds like there is play in the High Gear bearing as that runs on the main shaft. If you open the box, replace all of them including the Layshaft. Britishbikedoctor have everything you need.
Thanks!
The o-ring behind the tab washer, the part number you gave is not coming up with anything, any idea where I can buy

@@guerrillabuildchoppers4823 you're a star thank you
You're welcome. Glad it helped.
I left Liverpool 40 years ago, love the accent, and this video was very helpful, cheers.
Its still awesome. They'll never break us.
Damn......almost crashed...lol
Nar, plenty of room there. Hes fine.
@guerillabuildchoppers4823
G'day Chris, that looks slick and strong and really is a nice job. 👍👍
Cheers Buckz. The paint is still wet and his plane lands at 6pm tomorrow. Think we might have made it.
👍😎👍
Sweet tat bro 😝🙌🏻
I can recommend a bloke who's pretty handy at slinging ink in the Liverpool area. #Forever True Tattoo. ;)
10:25 Thanks Bruv STDE! 🙏💎
Do you think I stand a chance of getting it done before Friday???
@guerrillabuildchoppers4823 Absolutely, not sure which Friday though ffs lol
Happy days! 🙏 💎
G'day Chris, good to see you're still doing kool shit, I thought you might have given up YT I hadn't seen you for a while.👍👍
No mate. Still busy. Just not had the time to record anything.
Nicely done Chris,, Roy did me some yokes recently as well,,top fella
Billet bike bits are a really good company.
great job - better than watching 50 camera angles with most youtubers.
Cheers. Hope it helped.
Very clever nice work to end the week with a win cheers
Top 😊😊😊😊
How is it you were able to determine the reverse installation of the gear? You went through the shifting of the gears and all seemed good. Great vid
It was a video editing error. I assembled it twice but spliced the wrong clip in. A viewer spotted it so I added the Caption.
i listen to old timer bikers, and they told me,it does;nt matter if the piston is up/down/left or right, you always set the cams lobes at its lowest point to adjust the tappets, regardless of timing marks.
Thanks for the video. Very informative. 👍
I'd be happy to spend a day poking around there too!
I've missed loads of your videos. Been busy. So HAPPY CHRISTMAS to ya. I love the rear wheel. Would like spokes on my chop.. Me personally would like to see a video on the seat. your videos are quite inspiring any way so I'm happy with what ever you do. In fact I've already decided on a battery box mod and internal throttle. I'm also doing a hand gear change. I will try and make time to catch up with your vids . 😎
All the best Ade. The wheels are made by Ultima with 3/4" Axles, same as HD's
Happy days buddy, Looking good, STDE 🙏💎
it's always good to see a little lathe action... i like them mounts. look different for sure
👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for uploading the video, easy step by step instructions 👍
No problem. Hope it helped.
@@guerrillabuildchoppers4823 I've done it on a car engine before , but it's 25++years ago, now I'm giving it a try on a 96 katana 750 engine, first time om a bike engine, so I needed a update and this was by far the best
Good Engine. Very similar to this one. Best tip I have is, buy that Suzuki tappet tool and pile of Alloy washers. Do it every other Oil change and you can't ho wrong.
How lucky and luxurious you got it, doing this on my gsxf 750 took a lot more swearing and foul language. Damn it's not much space for my hands between the frame and walve cover, and a lot more electric wires that dont wanna go away 🥵😂🥵 but the job is being done today
Just do like I did. Cut off all those wires and frame. ;)
looking good so far mate.
Was gonna compliment you on your impressive tool fella, but didn't want you gettin' the wrong idea 😂 I watched a vid last week with Dave Mitchell (Classic Motorcycle Channel) taking an early Trident caliper apart - first time I'd seen grease used to pop the pistons out. He switched the bleeder for a grease nipple, clamped the caliper halves in a vice soft jaws (to block off the passage ways), and then stuck a grease gun on - worked like a charm.
Fun fact, it's possible to overdose on Pontefract cakes... the liquorice in 'em pulls down potassium levels in the body leading to muscle failure 😟
These Honda ones are tough to digest too.
@@guerrillabuildchoppers4823 Haha, try fresh ones from Dave Silvers mate, they're much easier to get down 😉
Close call havin' that internal throttle stuck open!. Reminded me of the time when I was a great many pounds lighter (like, less than 9 stone!) and was ferrying this fookin' massive mate back home on the pillion seat of my GS850... the handling felt so dodgy!. It was night and I was caning it down a straight on this unlit A road when my headlight blew... thanks to my then youthful reaction time, I flicked on one of my indicators and saved us both from ending-up as a pile of blood, guts and Japanese steel. Only ever made cables the one time, for my old Yam XS650 bobber.... this was pre-internet days when finding a shop that sold cable parts was nigh-on impossible - especially around these parts. I used the round brass pins from those old style 13 amp plugs to make up some nipples.
Do like those old SOHC motors 👍
Good stuff 😎
It's understandable how shooting video when you're in the garage, can be a pain... with so few hours to work on my ride, I struggle to even take a few still shots. I'm happy with whatever you choose to do next mate, it's all good!.
👍😎👍 Yea..show 7s how to make it all,air box,battery box,electronics box..??
"...symmetry left off the job description" :D:D Brilliant...and shameful on the fabricator in question. I can relate :/
coming together nicely ,air box and battery box videos woud l be good.
bike looks good. i think next should be air box to see how much space you've got left for battery box (or maybe leave battery exposed?) anyway great job as always. hope to see you soon.
It's good to see the whole process if you could mate
I'll try. It adds a lot of hours to the job by recording it and I haven't the following or the quality videos make it worthy of the editing time. I'll try to show as much as possible, even the mistakes and accidents. Maybe next time Joe is here, he can be the film maker??
Build is looking good. I'd personally be interested in seeing a battery box, and the air box.
Front engine mounts and a seat base then electrics/battery boxes etc
Folks that make videos like this are true heroes. I'm just starting a 67 triumph tiger and content like this is worth its weight in gold. So much thanks and respect man.
