    For the second example, how do you get the text to stay on that specific wedge? You mentioned adding it in manually, but when I add the text box the text doesn't seem to be "attached" so that wedge on the wheel.

    • @DavidKennedyMusic
      @DavidKennedyMusic 4 месяца назад

      Hi! I believe it is to do with whether you insert the text box inside the rectangle perimeter of the pie chart. If the text box is inserted outside of that it won’t stick as it’s not grouped with the pie chart. Hope that makes sense!

  • @platformzero1731
    @platformzero1731 9 месяцев назад

    Just one small question: the way that I would have intuitively gone about this would have been to put the reverb on the same chain as the amp. In fact I'd probably have defaulted to just sticking everything in one big chain. Do you think that you get a better sound by doing it this way? (I realise this is highly subjective. I'll probably just try implementing in both serial and parallel form and see which I prefer.)

    • @DavidKennedyMusic
      @DavidKennedyMusic 8 месяцев назад

      I think it depends what you are going for. Parallel Reverb works great when you want a super washed out sound (maybe specifically in the high end) and still want the definition of notes. When I first made this rig I was working with someone who wanted that type of sound. I think in most use cases it probably does sound more typical to have a reverb in series on the same chain as the amp as you suggest. Then you could map a macro to the DRY/WET to dial in in real time.

    • @platformzero1731
      @platformzero1731 8 месяцев назад

      @@DavidKennedyMusic Thank you so much for getting back to me. When I had a go at doing something similar to this in Ableton I think I liked the results better with it in parallel. I tend to use a lot of presets in Amplitube, so it's good to feel like I'm getting my hands dirty a little bit in terms of building my own effects rigs. Also, thanks so much for the video, I was pretty confused about how chains in effects racks worked before watching it, and it really helped me understand how it works.

    • @DavidKennedyMusic
      @DavidKennedyMusic 8 месяцев назад

      @@platformzero1731 no problem! Really glad the video helped 😊 There’s something really rewarding about building these sounds ourselves. You probably know this trick already, but if you like the parallel sound one thing I love to do is put a reverb on a return channel with about 4 second decay and big size. Then on the same return channel put a compressor beside the reverb. Then click the sidechain button and send you guitar signal to the sidechain. Dial it in to taste and you get the initial dry attack of your guitar as the reverb ducks out of the way and then it surrounds the signal after that. Really amazing sound to try out! 😊👍
