It was 1989, and I was a Freshman at Iowa State, and I listened to this on my Walkman walking toward Carver Hall in winter, with snow everywhere the eye could see. Can still picture it.
I also loved this song. This as well as Half Harvest. Excellent music!
Magnolia was an interesting film
"What If I Were Romeo In Black Jeans??" INDEED!!!
Wicked old school it nails it
15 year old me loved this song and 50 year old me still does.
30 and 64 works for me.
This was an MTV Hip Clip Of The Week back in early 90s
His brother Chris, was sexy in will and grace. RIP Chris

First track on my moms mixtape Listened to it constantly

Just noticed beginning sounds like Hole's Doll Parts.
I did. While working at the Gap.
Love this song
Lo único que me importa es que Gustavo Cerati es y será siendo mi ídolo el mejor cantante latino desde siempre
Crusshhhh on Micheal & this video since I was little.😍 Still obsessed with this song.🤤 Great singer/guitar player, it is not easy singing and playing simultaneously.👌👏👏👏 I love the snow in the studio 😂 and him just blowing it off his guitar.😆 Classic. The video team did an excellent job, no flashy cr@p, and still awesome.
That eye contact gave me goosebumps
I have always loved this video and song! 🥰
Great guitar 🎸 rifts .
Who engineered this record. It's perfect. Okay that is fairly pedestrian. I'm going to go do my homework.
still got my taps
Hamptons !
WOW A SONG I HEARD AND FOUND 35 years later, im 53
Buen tema
I used to listen to this on cassette tape.
2:23 💩...🆗️
I remember waiting for this to play on MTV. I was too young to buy music. When Napster came out, this was the first song I searched for. 20 years later it’s on demand and I still love it as much as I did back then.
I loved this song when it came out. Just heard it again while out shopping. Unlike a lot of the stuff I listened to back then, it has really stood the test of time. ❤
Paul is not dead.
So who’s gonna tell him?
Me
Perfect.
It almost makes me cry how awesome our music was back in the beginning of the 90's.
The 90s was actually the start of the downfall of music
@@timsears951 Quite The Opposite My Friend. Quite The Opposite. ‘90’s Music was THE RETURN to REAL MUSIC with Real Guitars & Real Drums after 10 years of Synthesizers & Fake Drums & Fake Guitars. This Album by Michael Penn actually PRECEDED The Rise of “Alternative” by 2 Years. This was 1989, and Nirvana BROKE THROUGH in October 1991. Yes, it was BEAUTIFUL, because it was The End of Michael Jackson & Poison & Motley Crue & Madonna & Bon Jovi & Tears For Fears. Yes, they all CAME BACK around 2000, when NOSTALGIA SET IN, but THEY WERE GONE from 1991-2000, which was MY 20’s. I turned 20 in 1991.
@wildmercuryfilms not where I come from I'm from the 60s 70s and 80s and a little bit 90s I don't believe that one iota
I love when I hear this in Kohls store.... i have a flashback & go into the restroom & just go to that place ...

This song is the reason why I started playing guitar!
"Oh shit...."
I've had this on repeat for the past 5 hours and still have it going...I forgot how great this song was! #childofthe80s 🙂
Just unpacked this 7” vinyl out of a box in my garage- couldn’t remember it. Put it on and I knew every word! Long live 1990!
michael penn looks like every guy in this generation. dominated by women and not quite masculine enough to say anything . Except he had talent
No way, he's awesome, I find him very masculine and attractive.
And married to Aimee Mann, who was an absolute Smoke Show, in Her Day.
This song was released in '89
Always thought this was crowded house. Just noticed it's a guy called Michael Penn. Love this song.
Sean Penn's brother.
I was in grade 10 in 1990 and I remember it well
Long time fan of MP. As a pop songwriter he’s one of the best of the last 40 years.
