This Machine Is A Beast!!
Today we took the John Deere 4720 and woods 720 brush hog out and did some brush hogging. We did a little testing to see an example of the power this machine has as well. This is an almost perfect setup for brush hogging.

Tagging Calves! -New Setup-

Today we put our new setup to the test. We have recently built a headlock system with a corral, and today we tested it, and found it works great. We tagged several calves, and then separated several cows.
Solving Problems - One at a time

Today we took the mini hoe out to clean a ditch along the side of a drive we use to haul hay. This drive is usually extremely wet, so this ditch will be a huge improvement.
Years of Manure Cleaned Out (satisfying)
Просмотров 202Месяц назад
Today we got to work cleaning out several years of build up in our chicken coop. The cycle we use to clean out our coop is to remove some manure several times a year, and to add fresh shavings at this time. However once in a while we do a full clean out, including sweeping out the coop.
2 Guys 50 bales: John Deere 4720
Просмотров 532Месяц назад
In this video we use the John Deere 4720 to haul round hay bales. Stated in the beginning of the video we were going to haul about 25 bales, though this number was closer to 50 after counting. These hay bales are 4ft by 4ft, and the JD 4720 handles them very well. We have one spear on the front, and one spear on the back. My dad also used the John Deere 5625 to haul bales alongside me. We haule...
Solution To Round Baling On Hills
Просмотров 728Месяц назад
We used our John Deere 5625 tractor with our John Deere 335 baler, to bale our hay on the farm. though on our farm it is really hilly, and we had to use our Deere 320D skid loader to stop the bales from rolling down the hill. When using the loader, we were able to speed up the process of baling, because the baler could drop bales wherever they were done.
John Deere 4720 Teddering Hay!

In this video we teddered our mowed hay with the John Deere 4720. We did this in an effort for the hay to dry to the correct level, and not mold. We hope that you enjoy, and learn something new, while you watch our video.
1953 Ferguson TO-30 Raking Hay
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 месяца назад
On the Echo Valley Homestead, the Ferguson TO-30, is in retirement a majority of the time, though when it comes to haying season, it plays a vital role. We use the Ferguson TO-30 to rake with a New Holland Rolabar 256 rake. In 1974, my grandpa bought a neighboring farm, and the TO-30 came along with the farm. This is one of the few jobs the tractor is put to the task of on our homestead.

Is the Haybine Era Over?

We mowed our first cutting of hay for the 2024 season with the New Holland Haybine. Along the way, we encountered a lot of clogging, and ended up renting a discbine, to help with our thickest field.

The pin portion of that latch may rotate if pressure placed on the inside of the gate. moving it up or down so the two bolts straddle the horizontal tubing will prevent that . Or drill and put a self tapping screw in the hole as a "set screw"

    • @echovalleyhomestead
      @echovalleyhomestead 25 дней назад

@@drgoatdoc yes this is a very good idea, and actually, a few weeks ago, we had a latch slide a little when a cow ran into the gate full speed, but we just turned it back and then put the set screw in. Thanks for the feedback

jasus... keep your hands away from those link arms when it's moving... you will lose fingers or a hand.. I've seen too many personal horrific injuries already. the first was 51 years ago when i was six and was in hospital myself due to a car collision.. in the bed across the way was a two year old baby boy (who'd fallen off a tractor) with stitches going right from the front to the back of his head in a big curve.. that was a fair warning to me then to be careful around farm machinery.... and i've heard all the excuses too... like: 'Ah, I'll be alright I know what I'm doing'... those machines can go wrong very fast believe me... great video, stay safe.. brilliant tractor too, we used to have the TVO version...
