Caldron Bowl - Spalted Birch with a tenon fail and recovery

This week a beautiful piece of spalted birch. One of my favourite woods..
The bowl is a shape I don't usually do. It is caldron shaped but compliments the wood beautifully.
During the video I had a tenon fail but see how I recovered.
The bowl part is 12 inches in diameter and 5 inches deep.

This week I turned an Elm bowl I focused on the finish using my DIY Abrasive paste and Polishing Paste.
