Rustavi, Georgia : Kids climb castle walls in the ex-USSR, fly drone over Stalin-era steel plant
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.2 года назад
Rustavi is a medium-sized city in the southeast of the country of Georgia. We climbed Rustavi's famous fortress that dates back to the ancient world. The castle played a role in wars involving Byzantines, Arabs, Persians, and Mongols. We also flew our drone over the Rustavi Metallurgical Plant, a former Soviet factory dating from the era of Stalin. The factory is connected to the city center by...
Tbilisi, Georgia Sulfur Baths | Hot Springs | Stalin's Sauna
Просмотров 2,2 тыс.2 года назад
In Tbilisi, Georgia, we enjoyed the healing powers of the ancient sulfur baths, which are connected to natural thermal springs. The site of Georgia's capital city was originally chosen because of these hot springs. Stalin, the tyrant of the Soviet Union (USSR), was a frequent visitor to the facility to treat his many ailments. (He also would go to Sochi, Russia for the same treatment.) L'Europe...
Georgia's HUGE cathedrals and monasteries: Svetitskhoveli, Jvari, and Samtavro - 4K drone footage
Просмотров 8862 года назад
In the city of Mtskheta, Georgia, we explored Svetitskhoveli, the patriarchal cathedral of the Georgian Orthodox Church. This is a medieval church that dates back more than a millennium. We also discovered the Jvari Monastery, which goes back to the late ancient period (circa 500 AD). Lastly, we visited Samtavro's Convent. All of these sites are linked to St. Nino, the woman saint who brought C...
Narikala Fortress, Tbilisi, Georgia: Russian Tourists go CRAZY over Eden

Originally constructed in ancient times, this fortification has exchanged hands many times, passing under Persian, Mongol, Arab, and Soviet rule. This video includes 4K drone footage of the castle and a scene where Russian tourists go crazy ove...
In Tbilisi, Georgia, we race through mean streets to the giant balloon 🇬🇪
Просмотров 5682 года назад
In Tbilisi, Georgia, which is in Eastern Europe, we walked through a pedestrian underpass filled with grafiti, before racing competitively through Rike Park. This is the urban green space from which one can take a ride on the aerial tramway (cable cars) to Narikali Fortress, or get on the giant balloon. We have greatly enjoyed our travels in the former Soviet Union (USSR) and we invite viewers ...
Tbilisi, Georgia: Crime and Culture (poverty vs. family and work)
Просмотров 5 тыс.2 года назад
We arrived in Tbilisi, Georgia yesterday. Already we can see a substantial improvement in the crime rate in relation to that of the United States. This contradicts the established narrative that poverty automatically causes crime, because Georgia has less than 1/10 the per capita nominal income of the U.S. Does a low nominal income cause crime, or is the real explanation more closely related to...

Thank you sir for showing this face of Georgia. Moreover your essay on relationship between poverty n crime needs applauding. Consider teaching politicians. However countries with bigger population have more poverty due to Lack of law enforcement, ethical teachings n savage demand for free market capitalism ( both legal n illegal) Jussojuan

Georgia has less crime because Georgia is s deeply religious orthodox Christian country that values family values. They haven't been infected by Western declines values.

There is no difference in culture. You should have come here in the 90s. People were killing each other for fun. You were kidnapped and demanded money for release. :))) After the collapse of the USSR, everyone here could buy weapons. This situation has hardly been sorted out since 2003. So I guess guns are to blame for the Criminal situation in America

People might look at her weird, but it’s not because of racism it’s because georgia was a closed off society for a long time and didnt have much of a contact with black people so for alot of people seeing your wife will be the first time they saw a black person but in terms of hate crime and racism georgia is very safe so you dont have to worry about it

You’ll notice there are no homeless people in Georgia, whereas in the US homelessness is a major problem. Poor people in Georgia would be considered middle class in the US judging by the quality of life and things like amount of free time, food quality and affordability, access to the healthcare and place to live. As for safety, in Georgia there is no obsession with guns and violence. There are many more reasons I could talk about. And yes I am from Georgia and I live in the US, so I can compare

For your information, Georgia used to be a breeding ground for so-called 'thieves in law', figures of criminal authority. Basically, the vast majority of the most influential and famous 'thieves in law' (mafia crime bosses) in Russia have always been and are Georgians. Even today, the lion`s share of what westerners call 'Russian mafia' is composed of Georgians. They`re not ordinary criminals. They have their unique code of honor according to which they live. You never see a Georgian career criminal with saggy pants robbing a wine store. One more thing, selling drugs and guns is a no-no according to that code of honor.

    • @eagleeye182
      @eagleeye182 2 года назад

@@enta2 I know absolutely everything about 'thieves in law'. On the other hand, judging from your comment, you don`t have the faintest idea as to how this criminal underworld is organized and ruled. The Georgian Dream has won all elections thanks to 'thieves in law' and the support of the street. Saakashvili was an archenemy of this criminal underworld, the Georgia Dream at the head of Bidzina Ivanishvili won the elections in 2013 and ended Saakasvhili`s regime. They let nearly all prisoners out and won their hearts. So, for those figurers of criminal authorities, the Georgian Dream is a savior. They supported this political party and will support it in the future as well. 'Thieves in law' don`t want Saakashvili to come to power again so does the Georgian Dream and Bidzina Ivanishvili. They`re acting in unison to ensure 'bloody Nazis' don`t take control in the country. Bidzina`s son Bera are buddies with sons of 'thieves in law'.

@@eagleeye182 You should understand that we do not have a large selection. The people in politics don't have a good education and therefore. For example, "Georgian Dream" did 2 good things that Saakashvili didn't want to do. 1. Free programs for hepatitis C 300,000 people were infected with it in our country. This has been an American program and many people have been healed. 2. The fraudulent construction company, which has cheated a lot of people since the 90s and which was strangely not touched by Saakashvili and was active until 2012, they went to prison. The rest has remained as before. We know that Ivanishvili is a Russian oligarch and has his own plans. But until he's calm, he can stay

I am from Georgia it was lot more crime ridden in fact one of the most crime ridden countries in the world entil 2003 when Saakashvili took power he declared absalute war on criminals and his period is know as zero tolerance period when every criminal was put in jail or got chased away from country. Now days there are few vielent crimes in Georgia but there is huge industry of scamming companies here who mainly focus on western nations and try to extract as money as they could from different online scams (cripto , love scams , etsenta etsenta) so don't say that poverty does not Couse crime because there is huge sacaming industry here and huge number of Georgian work in or have worked in scamming companies who scam people like you when you are abroad. And reason why people work in these sacaming companies is simple. They offer way more money then any other job in Georgia in fact 19 year old kid can make 50+60k USD per month from scamming foreigners like you. The reason they are not in jail is simple crime does not get reported because victim is abroad and has no idea he or she got scammed from Georgia or who he got scammed by also high government officials turn a blind eye because they are corapt and lot of them are getting a share from the scam money . Just because there is few vielent crime does not mean poverty does not Couse crime . It's not the only Couse but it's one of the main

it was highly criminal country until proamerican government came. then they took directives from us government and decided to completely eliminate crime. it was followed by thousands and thousands of legal and illegal swat operations (many of them fatal) and imprisonments. to cut long story short, they either killed; or imprisoned everyone who was making crime so there's no one left on freedom to do it.
