LINEAR Actuator sleeve hitch upgrade! Garden Tractor
This is an updated Version to my homemade sleeve hitch/3 point hitch. It has a tremendous amount of strength for this little garden tractor . I am able to put plenty of down pressure to engage the ground. Please like and subscribe to see all the other videos pertaining to garden tractor implements.

This was made in my garage with scrap metal. The bucket detaches when not in use, allows for the front blade to work independently without bucket when it is not needed. Please like and subscribe to see all other attachments and implements for this garden tractor. Hope this helps with anyone looking for ideas! Feel free to message me with any questions. Thanks!

Garden tractor sleeve hitch , home made , DIY, easy built. This was built for about 70 dollars. It works great and has been a big help. The winch on the back is a 2,000 pound winch and moves any amount of weight easy! It came with a handle but I use a drill. It’s much faster and easy! I posted this hoping it would help anyone needing to build a sleeve hitch specifically for their needs. Hope th...

DIY , attachments, Front blade, rear grader blade, dirt buster , trencher. Home made This was a John Deere I bought used about 4 years ago. It has a Kohler 16hp Engine, K62 rear axle. This used the same drive unit as the garden tractor that was a notch above this at the time. The only difference was this one doesn’t have the lugs on the tires and tires are a little smaller. The 3 point hitch ha...

    Excellent idea, Brad! I think that I would substitute a 12 volt linear actuator for the drill/ winch setup that you have, that way I can wire a switch into the dash!

    I came across a breaking plow, disk, and small cultivator for a garden tractor. Now I need a small garden tractor. My lawn mower has a hydrostatic transmission and I don't think it will last.

      @braddegraffenreid9106 6 месяцев назад

      Mine also has a hydrostatic transmission. I have using it for odd jobs for years now with no issues. Do you know what rear axle it has? That’s what I would be mostly concerned with.

    My home made bucket cost me $25.00 in material and I have a separate snow plow blade like the one on this video. I'm still updating my 33 year old Pussy Cat Loader and if plan A did not work .. there is always plan B They say you cant teach an old dog new tricks, so I'm learning the hard way..

    The winch on the rear has a better ratio for lifting and lowering than the front winch which could do with a reduction or just a pulley block fitted to change it to a slower more controllable adjustment. This is a great system and I like the attachments you have which are similar to what I am looking to make for my ride on mower. I am wanting to make a rear towable blade attachment for leveling area and an edge cutting blade. Great stuff... thanks for the ideas.

    How are the actuators holding up a year later? I am looking at similar actuators on amazon. I worry that, with ground engaging implements, they might fail due to the forces involved in pushing a plow into the ground

    • @braddegraffenreid9106
      @braddegraffenreid9106 2 года назад

      I disconnected them this summer. They held up ok but we’re painfully slow and the range of motion was limited. I have went back to using the mechanical winch and weight for Down pressure.

    I think you might want to add a brace in front of the winch, to form a triangle with the tractor frame. Maybe it's not visible but it looks like a lot of torsion stress on the one attachment point to the tractor.

    • @braddegraffenreid9106
      @braddegraffenreid9106 2 года назад

      I have added a brace not long after making this video. You are correct it’s a lot of torsion. I need to do an update on the pros/cons. Definitely doing some “along the way” engineering lol.

    What size steel did you use for this bucket attachment?

    • @braddegraffenreid9106
      @braddegraffenreid9106 2 года назад

      I bought a 1 foot by 20 foot 1/4 inch piece of steel. Luckily a friend needed some too, so we both took half of it.cost 80.00 “my half”. Probably could have went with something not as think and been fine. I just wanted to make sure it had enough strength to hold up to the impacts of running up under soil/material

      I haven’t loaded anything yet. I have added one brace for support also painted it. I used it recently to move a lot of dirt around and it worked great… for what it is anyways. I had a Kabota tractor clearing a lot of dirt for a driveway I just did. I was able to scoop a lot of the dirt around the edges and from a pile I made with the other “bigger” tractor.

    I'm not a mechanic, but this video has opened up a world, as it seems, to dive into my rider project. Though it'll be modified, both, front and rear blade harnesses of this video contain enough mechanical engineering for my husquavarna, using metal remnants around my shop, including using my old toro snow thrower hitch/underside parts, etc. If and when I'm savvy enough, I might post the results on utube. Thx Brad!!
