I agree with yeetthebeet. I listened to it twice--once in the live performance with Barabara, and then with the score.

Poulenc utiliza aqui elementos de seu fabuloso concerto para piano. Linha melódica envolvente, atemporal e anos luz acima de nosso tempo.
The 3rd movement give me similar feels as Franck 4th movement

I hope more Chabrier shows up on my RUclips feed. This is wonderful music to work and relax with. This performance is very good! Bravo and thank you.
One sublime moment per symphony; with this one its at 5:05

Bellfagor, One interesting history writed by Niccolò Machiavelli. Bellìssima.
I think that The Addams Family's music is like Francis Poulenc's orchestral music. His organ concerto and the first movement of this work is like the addams family suite.

It sounds like Mahler, beautiful
What Mahler have you been listening to?
Sublime music. Evokes an idyllic countryside, with a wistful nostalgic magic.

@alexkije You remarked with cutting mockery: "Boulez was also a composer?" Ha - deliciously wicked. All these wannabee Rive Gauche Parisian intellectuals, denouncing legions of anti-modernist and anti-minimalist backsliders in the Comments! beloq Acolytes and water-bearers of ultra-modernism, who are almost ejaculating with ecstatic praise for Boulez's purity, imagination and rigour. As if the aim of music was not psychodynamic power and emotional-spiritual relevance to vast audiences in all walks of life, but instead an arid, condescending, formal impenetrability. The School of Webern, but sadly with fewer of Anton's rib-tickling laughs. Only elitist self-admiring narcissist pricks would praise music merely for its arcane formalism So typical of proto-fascistic men as well: "It may be cruel to listen to, but severity is good" "Hard work in listening makes for Artistic Freedom" "Harte Arbeit beim Zuhören sorgt für künstlerische Freiheit" Says one Prima Donna of Condescension: our masculine, cultured minds are too elevated to listen to "Price's obvious and sentimental drivel". What kind of an obscurantist, racist, bourgeois-intellectual, tuppenny-patriarchal f*ckwit would use that language, in so off-hand and easy a manner? Whereas be assured that I choose most consciously to deploy my sneering contempt in reply, and do so with great satisfaction. I mean, I love Boulez and Patrice Chéreau's radical Marxist reinvention of Wagner's Ring. Nonetheless, give me hours of Korngold rather than even 5 mins of most of Boulez's soi-disant compositions. Except I'm not quite that cut and dried. Notations I-VI (1978) for large orchestra is very captivating. Love, andrea
I hear a bit of Cesar Franck at the beginning...
Splendid composition.
Wonderful piece! ❤ Thx
Es de hermosura única!!!
I cracked up at the 3rd movement's Brahms' style stealing XDDDDDDDD truly a genius XD
15:44 one of the most beautiful pieces, what I ever heard ❤

Thanks so much for uploading this symphony. I really love the work, never really bothered with Arnold before but this has been a real treat. The orchestration is brilliant - Sure it’s somewhat cinematic in parts but I couldn’t care less what critics/composers of the time thought, for me it’s great and that’s all that matters.

Post modern garbage. If you like the sounds of schizophrenia from an orchestra, this bud is for you!
lmao you clearly haven't listened to much if you think this is schizophrenia
I think I would take the opinion of Richard Hickox over yours any day 😁
