Possibly. Although it has a "Steal" icon so has a Treasure, and if I defeat it, I add 1 STAMINA to my XP. But you are right, the extra 1, 2 or 3 turns it might take me to beat it also reduces my chances of finding the Boss!

That’s exactly my thoughts. The balance of turns to beat the goblin v just running away makes no sense to fight.

They are pre-printed. The different Heroes are fairly well balanced, and so each has a good chance of winning!

It can, but the perspective makes that look a bit bigger than it actually is. My table in there is about 6' long, and the game took up just over half, although some of that was the placement for the camera. Easily playable on a normal kitchen table though.

The fulfilment house should be able to ship worldwide, but I am afraid that at the moment I don't know how much that might cost.

It will stay black and white. All of the art you see here and from now on is "final", although there may be some tweaks to certain tiles etc. Personally I prefer the more classic B&W art for FF as that is what FF was always about. Artists like Russ Nicholson and John Blanche really epitomised the feel. The price is not quite finalised but is likely to be in the £40-45 range

@@ariongames8822 Firmly agree. Nicholson's depictions in D&D's Fiend Folio (amongst his many other works) was such a departure for my young eyes from the shiny knight/damsel schtick, perfectly illustrating how I imagined the fantasy world looked in all its dangerous glory. Will always remain my favourite artist for RPG's. Excited to see it launch. My kids have been reading through my POD AFF Deluxe recently and really seem to enjoy Gascoigne's Titan setting so this bodes well. I hope there are reasonably priced shipping options to places like Canada so I don't have to mortgage the house to get it. heh

@@squirekev I am working with a Fulfilment house that has several worldwide warehouses, and sppecialises in boardgames and RPGs, so although I don't know the exact cost of postage, it will at least be coming from North America to you rather than the UK! And I agree totally about the art. Russ, John Blanche, Iain McCaig and so on made the Titan setting what it was and gave FF that very specific "feel"

I agree. The art isn't anywhere near as good as Russ Nicholson. Can't original FF art be re-used? Also full colour box art would be in keeping with FF books. Obviously this is my personal opinion and I'm glad the maker is happy with this aesthetic and it looks like a great game but the design choices are putting me off for now.

@@davidstevens1309 There are several parts to this. Some original art could possibly be used, but the dimensions and specifics would be wrong, and it also doesn't work that well on the much smaller cards. Hence the bolder images that work really well on a small card but still have the FF feel. As far as the box goes, almost every game out there has a wrap around full colour image, and we wanted a box that would stand out on the shelf as well as tie in with the original B&W aesthetic of the game components. I realise that this may not be perfect for anyone, but then I think whatever approach we took that would be the same!

Not final yet, but the RRP will likely be about £40-45

I am looking at doing a "Basic AFF" box set next year, very similar to the FF game, with player book, Director book, adcventure book, maps, card minis, dice, character sheets etc. Watch thiis space...

Again as a late-coming American, I’m a bit jealous of you guys who had this inundate your childhood (all we had were the rule-less Endless Quest, etc , though Lone Wolf books were present of course they were absent full, personal char gen). Plus I’m jealous you guys had Warlock and Proteus mags. I’d have been in heaven in 1986 (at age 12)! Heheh! Thank you for all your extremely hard work and dedication to keeping this game and this part of rpg history alive and well! (Still want an easily available and affordable hard back of the 2E AFF rules! lol) 🙂 Cheers!

Honestly….brutally honestly… I’d bet ‘basic FF’ could be done as a digest, saddle-stitched booklet (DriveThru doesn’t offer that, but Lulu does). And a perfect-bound could be on DriveThru also, obviously. Considering what Spellzard! was able to achieve and your work and everything else…. Well, I’ll just say: I believe in you. Thanks again!

So the core set will be dungeons, mainly because the seminal FF book was a dungeon. However, assuming this does well, we have expansions planned, the first of which I would like to be a Forest set, with new Adventure Cards and Tiles, as well as additional treasures, spells, Heroes, a new boss etc.

he "board" is created from dungeon tiles that are laid in turn by each player (or for each tun if you are a solo player). So unlike something like Heroquest, the board changes every time

@@ariongames8822 is it more like Advanced HeroQuest or Warhammer Quest or Dungeon Quest?

I have played it a lot with my four children during all of the development, and they love it!
