At 15:08 when you grab all your wood vils to go to stone, make sure to first send them to drop off what they have so you don't lose that extra eco.

Quick tip, at 7:17 you wall up, that's great, however set the wall in front of that gold, protects it for later.

fairly safe play for civs your not familar with is to go towards their unique unit/what type of civ the game says it is (especially with your love of castle drops!) e.g italians have genoese crowsbows so upgrading your archer line should be a safe bet and then allows you to have an even more powerful unique unit, team mate had persians so expect him to go into cav which could complement your archer civ quite well as your archers can pick off spears and likewise his cav can pick off cav coming after your archers/push opponent archers, between dark and feudal age might be worth looking at the tech tree for a glance at what your team mate + opponents civs are listed as/their unique units to have an idea of what they'll likely go for (can do the same in 1v1 if you don't know what opponent's civ is good at)

Ment at arms are not that good vs horses. Spearmen vs horses, horses vs archers, archers vs spearmen

When the light cav was attacking your farms, you should have also used all those villagers to attack them. Woulda killed them faster and saved you a few vills.

1:50 If you want to branch out strat wise you can learn 2 stable knights, very good beginner strat (doesn't require much micro of your units to work well) that takes advantage of the power spike at the start of castle age and you can play it more 'defensively' by walling your base and making a single spear to patrol outside looking for scouts/archers to give you an early warning/time to make another spear if they're going scouts or if they're going archers you have a stable to make scouts and chase them away! I would also advise choosing the same civ each game so you get a better understanding of them and their bonuses (Franks + Magyars good choices for the above strat!) Also generally you don't want to do tech upgrades till you have an army (you got thumb ring before creating any archers for example) and when you pulled all your vills out of the castle to retreat you could've used them to smash the ram, in situations where the is no army around you can use your vills to fight the ram edit: saw you used vills later on vs a ram :)

As others have said: Sheep/pigs under TC directly and together, shift queue your vills onto the next one, for more efficiency as one pig dies move the new one onto the same space so vills don't have to move at all, makes gathering more efficient. Hotkeys are massive to improve speed, just start with the create villagers hotkey and select all TC's (also recommend at the start of the game adding both TC and scout to command groups, click it and shift+number so you can jump between the two by double tapping the number they're assigned to) then add in a new thing (starting with those you do the most e.g build houses,farms, barracks, queing upgrades e.g lumber and mill) every few games. Bring in first boar earlier, around 10/11 vills you should bring in the first boar/rhino/elephant, to start with just lure and kill with vills harvesting pig/sheep directly as you did here, but learning to garrison 6-7 vills in town centre to shoot from there and ungarrisoning after 2nd lot of arrows is very good, also second boar should be brought in when first has ~200 food left, when doing this re-assign all vills to the original boar and shift queue onto the next one. When building 3rd/4th houses, use the vill that would be first to berries to create the houses next to the berries, cuts walking time, also can be done when 2 away from housed e.g 13th pop vill if you have 15 space, general rule try to build houses near something else you want to harvest so that you don't have vills walking loads to and fro. Don't be afraid to make a single pikeman every game you reach feudal, gives you at least something to scare away a starting scout/put opponent off a scout rush or if opponent blind scout rushes you've got 1 that can fight 2-3 un upgraded scouts, and buys you time to make another (generally don't go beyond 3 since they're terrible attacking wise) When transitioning from berries to farms you can highlight the whole group of vills (click and drag mouse over them) and shift click on farms then whilst hovering over the mill click as many times as you have vills highlighted and it will most efficiently place your farms around the mill with each being assigned to a farm after they're made I would strongly suggest you watch Survivalist best build order for beginners, take a screenshot/photo of it on phone or hand-write notes if you prefer and try to replicate it vs AI for a game or two each time before you hop online (or if you have a fair bit of time to play spend a session or two per week purely doing this to try and make it 2nd nature+learning a hotkey each time you play!)

More tips :) - Sheep/pigs ALWAYS under the TC, not near it, under, so the vills dont bump on each other to deliver the food. - when you are missing a little bit of food to make a vill, select them all and press A. They will deliver the food and go back to work. - You scouting is good, keep on! Maybe assign the scout to a group selection (select scount and press ctrl+1), so everytime you press 1 you select the scout quickly - the same goes to the town center. I use TAB to select all TC. So I just press TAB and Q to make vills (if you press shift+Q in the TC you assign 5 vills to the queue, that is even quickier) - Always check your idles. I have ^ for that (above TAB). Standard is "." Shift+^ / shift+. will select all idles. Similarly, shift+, (comma) will select all military (usefull to avoid forgeting units around the map) - Knights are a huge power spike in castle. Doing one or two would have wiped blue out very quickly - You are on a good path, you know what you have to do and how the game works. You gonna do very well

Shift clicking, you can shift click your vills from the houses to the sheep/pigs at the start of the game. Also if you set up a "select all town centers hotkey" and a "create villager" hotkey that would drastically speed up your dark age.

Couple of tips: - Only get Loom on your way up to Feudal at 21/22 pop. If you get it sooner it means less vills early on, and makes your Feudal time slower - Once you see archers in your wood line, either tower or run! You lost like 5 vills because they just kept chopping! - Trying to get a University plus Murder Holes to defend your castle would have been a huge investment. Getting one Elephant to shoot them, and if they engage the Ele using the castle fire, would have been much cheaper!

Have you been playing long i play on xbox a little tip on open maps at your elo is to go for a scout rush get the timing and build order down and your kill it wp thoe keep up the content

Mind you, take all this with a grain of salt. I'm only 938 rated 😅but a month ago I was in the 800's. Been finding my groove lately with the Koreans.

Lastly, you should look to bring in your second boar before your first has ran out. so the vils can make the quick chnage.

The goal should be to time your 19 vill and then the loom upgrade when you're nearing 500 food so as soon as loom is done you age up. You put too many vills in que (from videos i have watched) when getting close to the 20 pop mark causing you to have to wait to age up bc you lack food and then the time it takes those vills to make.

4 on wood is fine. But you need to get 3 on berries, 4 on wood and the rest on pigs/sheep etc. You should also bring in the boars earlier. You should look to age up around 20-22 pop which is 19-21 vills.

You were slow to get out of Dark age because you had 4 on wood (Vills 7-10). You don't need that much wood in dark age. If you want to get to feudal quickly you can have just 2-3 on wood, and take the boars earlier. You can also use the drop-off command (hotkey is A) when you have multiple vills selected to tell them to drop off their resources (they will go back to whatever they were collecting earlier after dropping off). When you had a lot of vills on the second boar they were holding a few hundred food, which you could have dropped off to age up at least 50 seconds earlier. With 2-3 on wood you should be able to click up to Feudal at 19 Vills + Loom comfortably. You will just need to send at least 7-8 more vills to wood as soon as you click up (should have around 10 on wood while feudal researches) to have enough wood for a barracks while Feudal researches, then a range or stable when you get to Feudal. You can also just fight scouts with vills that have loom. Two loomed vills will beat a single scout easily. I would recommend setting a hotkey (thumb mouse buttons work well if you have a mouse with extra buttons) to select all of your town centers, and get comfortable using the Q hotkey when your TCs are selected to queue more villagers rather than clicking. It allows to you to keep your TC running without having to look away from what you are doing. Good decision going for the castle.

Yeah MaA are not a good fight vs camels. Pikemen would wreck them though, especially with the upgrade you get in castle age

Once you saw the scouts, you should have que-ed up a few pikemen to take out the scouts and then your men at arms woulda been free to deny the castle

Back with another tip for you. Hold down shift while clicking your scout around to set movement points. You can make them go in a huge circle around your start to find your sheep and then not have to worry about it for a little while, which will let you focus on your vills and what/where you want to build.

Hate to say it, but you should always wall up in BF team or no. But if you dont want to, you should try to sneak a Vil into their base, find a spot to wall off and build a barracks. Expecially at this ELO, they'll never suspect it.
