Hey man, here are some answers! 1. You have to parry earlier in PvP than in PvE, they made it this way to make reaction parries harder if I remember correctly. Sometimes it is a gamble, you'll see me toggling in a lot of clips immediatly after I hit parry, in case I miss (to not get staggered). With some experience you roughly know when opponents are going to attack however and you get used to the different timing. In some clips people try to backstab me and I turn around/"skid" in time to make them whiff and parry their whiffed bs attempt. 2. Some of the changes are just to show off but others are beneficial, like putting on better gear while being backstabbed to reduce the damage. Other common swaps: to darkwood grain ring while getting backstabbed to heighten the chances of getting away or to hornet ring after the parry and before the riposte to increase the crit damage. There are way more swaps, some more useful than others. 3. The backstab window is bigger than most people know - you can backstab people with their backs against the wall if you "turn" your character and hit r1 at the right time, it's tricky but possible - even in corners. Search for "Expanding on the Wall Backstab", it explains it pretty well. I also confirm most of my backstabs with kicks, meaning: if the opponent happens to turn around in time, I get the backstab, if they don't I just kick them. There are more ways to confirm backstabs and to prevent whiffing 4. It's called ravioli step or omni step - search for it, you basically have to hit the dodge button and the opposite direction on the d-pad (to where you are standing) a bit later, kinda difficult to explain and it takes time to get it down repeatedly. 5. Try some PvP at Meta Levels (120-140) and don't give up if you have no chance at first there and don't be afraid to ask your opponents for some training/help - most guys there are friendly and are willing to help. Además que no hacen mas ataques que solo apuntar la espalda y asi consecutivamente en bucle. Eso te parece ser jugadores de alto nivel? si solo juegan con ventajas y trucos sucios es como jugar comodamente en el modo facil, es basura y es facil adaptarse, por eso mi rechazo .Y si piensas que eso es el standar para estar en el alto nivel, entonces eres un mediocre sin persoanlidad propia. Es facil ganarles a esos payasos son o sin sus terminos

I can't help but feel like someone is in denial and felt the need to write a literal poem projecting their inadequacy. I love how these low levels get a few lucky kills on good players, else lagstabbing or r1 spamming them, then have the nerve to say they are "trash" and "easy to adapt to." Keep crying in the rain, pallie.

@@namelessstranger1270 because you need no skill there. If there are no backstabs and no ripostes you only need to put on as much poise as you can, take out a falchion/gold tracer or some kind of long spear and a big shield and either spam r1 or keep distance. Everyone would do that in that case and people like you would be the first ones to complain, because that's all you do rather than learning basic game mechanics

Tell me how you would counter spear/r1 spammer builds on elevator, I'm waiting

@@MrMashroom To be fair, yeah; not much of a counter against the ridiculously long spears. Still, other play styles are very punishable without BS/Riposte.

@@boredwizard566 they usually like to spam r1, so getting the parry down is also an idea - if you press parry during the first attack you usually get it on the second one. The flip/spear method is a good recommendation tho, you can also roll when the bleed damage hits to i-frame it. Another recommendation: take an axe or hammer like battle axe or mace, stack poise and stunlock them to death before they stunlock you, they nearly never know how to toggle

@@neosphere97 I mean you're right, but that's part of the thrill I think. You'll also meet invaders who just wanna try some Pvp, at least at lower levels. Your english is fine btw (at least for someone like me who's also not speaking english as his first language)

@@seigmyrethegamer4584 Some people play with a friend for the first time, so its not possible. Futhermore I really love to get invaded when i am playing, since the begining of my experience with the souls games. If the invader is not a twink and doesnt have a build that will kill you in 1 hit, i fight to the death, and its awesome! Otherwise, i usually quit.

@@MrMashroom I agree with you, that's part of the thrill. Nowadays i consider myself an experienced player and i do like to invade others. What i usually do is trying to "balancing" the fights, invading with a "not so good" build, with equipments i can accquire until that area. The fights are usually fun and challenging for both sides, even better if its 1v2. i dont wana tell wich way is better than other, everyone plays the way they find most fun!

There are a lot of things I could improve actually :) but yeah when everything works as planned it sure looks like I mastered it 😅

@TryingSoft don't kill the Boss or gravelording is impossible. Something between fire +0 and +8 should be perfectly fine for more than 90 percent of the players there, I even had decent activity with chaos +0 in parish.

I already have one build in burg, but it isn't that optimized and the players there weren't a challenge at all, so I want to increase the challenge a bit. Also what soul level should I be to get SL≈15+ players to invade? I was thinking about like 20-30, but I'm not really sure. I'll probably go with the chaos +0, so I won't be absoultely swarmed by 5 phantoms right away. Thanks for the answer I appreciate it.

@TryingSoft if you go for Chaos you can also go to like sl30, still lots of activity. I gravelorded a lot there with chaos/sl33 and it always had a decent amount of people, at least back then

You're right now that I think about it, it's rarely a build if you can just level basic stats like vit and end and don't have to think about str/dex too much.

@@MrMashroom Don't know what would fit best because I'm not watching the whole vid. But probably something less hip hop and more metal or instrumental. Music with lyrics don't really make sense in vids where your not really trying to listen to the them.

With that much vitality he doesn't have much points to put into strength/dex, chaos weapons only need humanity for scaling meaning its ideal for his build, but with more damage leveling it would be outclassed by normal/crystal.

Like said, it's just a way to avoid putting too much points into strength and dex. The standard/crystal path is still better if you put levels in there

Well I still like it, but yeah maybe I'll enjoy the heck out of it again in 2 months, who knowa :). The stigma comes from japanese players primarily (as far as I can tell), most of them don't like it. I don't mind it if it's not overused and try to avoid it completely myself, just something I got used to while playing with japanese players. In their mind it's a cheap way to get the backstab when it's more fun to get the timing without parry down.

I was not aware there was such stigma among the Japanese playerbase, that does make some sense, given that parry backstabs are essentially a remedy to poor timing. Thank you for telling me, I had been wondering as I had seen that in a few other places and wasn't sure where it was coming from.

Avelyn is just so slow and punishable, yet so much fun - I rarely used it myself tbh, but I've seen players using it with some success

I think a lightning Avelyn + lightning bolts is the best ranged estus punish you can get without magic, and landing all 3 shots is an amazing feeling... until the opponent stops playing around and starts stabbing. Still, I actually took a player much better than me off-guard and killed them for the first time ever by suddenly pulling out the avelyn, as they tried to prediction parry me (which they had done with alarming regularity in the fights preceding this one).

Yeah but as far as I remember you could make a video yourself with clips where you killed me ;)
