Scanning and printing between museums works basically like a teleport of artifacts (or cloning machine). So cool!
RUclips Algorithm bought me here, randomly, thanks for sharing this.
Glad you came! 😃Thanks for watching!! Feel free to check out our other videos too😊
In England toffee doesn't snap it's chewy.
toffee apples are crispy crunchy on the outside though, not chewy. So toffee can be both hard and chewy depending on how it's made.
As soon as you said it the change in shirt buttons made instant sense. Very useful information for reenacting!
Thankyou for everything you do to preserve the simple life that many of us have so callously forgotten! Slavery was something every human on planet earth was involved in, not just north american white people. Slavery has been the default standard around the world for eons. No human in power has ever let go of a chance to spill his fellow human's blood. Slavery still exists in many parts of the world that are free from the plagues of education technology medicine and law enforcement.
❤️
Fascinating!
Thanks so much for watching!
Good presentation. I've watched people doing this at reenactments before but could figure out why it wouldn't just unravel. Thank you.
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it informative! 😊
I have a back and front yard full of them. I've been trying to catch them and release them somewhere else .....but u have failed.
The young presenter does an excellent job.
Thanks for tuning in!
Thanks for posting
I got news for you these rodents cause harm and are Destructive, destroying any kind of bulbs that you plant for flowers. They get into your cars and chew off wires. Just like squirrels they dig deep holes. I have had cattle and horses. Get their foot caught and caught and stumble in their tunnels. They can break a animal's leg this way.I have no use for squirrels.Or chipmunks I get rid of as fast as I can. They're very destructive if you live on a farm

Thanks for watching!
Sounds very interesting, but I surprised that there wasn't any stinging nettle in it. Camera seemed to be out of focus.
Wowww.!!! Delicious
That is not a log cabin patch. Still pretty though.
I have been to Latta when I was a truck driver. The picture of the sampler reminds me of an article that appeared in Early American Life magazine several years ago. The article was about a couple who collected and preserved samplers. They had a method of mounting and framing them, but the article did not describe their method. I contacted EAL magazine and asked them to publish an article about the process. Never heard a word back from them, nor did I ever see an article. Would you be able to make a video showing how to mount and frame samplers? Or do you know of instructions that already exist?
Thank you for your interest and request. Our Collections Department will work on creating a video on the subject in the coming months.
@@CultureHeritageMuseums That will be great!!! I have a sampler from my great great grandmother she made in the 1850s.
I love that apron! ❤
This is so sweet and beautiful ❤
Will, as always, I love the enthusiasm!

Being of Pakistani origin one would dump half that container of milk in the tea 😸
The amount of work that went into life is lost upon us industrialized peoples!
But where's the iPad? Lol jk Growing up in Pakistan in the eighties and nineties I was able to get some last glimpses of the simple life :)
Love this so much!

What about "shoes on the table is bad luck" and "hat on a bed is bad luck"
Hi! Great questions! Several sources say people believed evil spirits lived in your hair (as evidenced by static electricity when you take off your hat.) So putting a hat on a bed supposedly invited those evil spirits to hang around. Another explanation was to prevent the spread of head lice, particularly if the hat owner and the bed owner were two different people. For shoes on the table, a custom was to place a dead coal miner’s boots on the table during the wake, and therefore shoes on the table at any other time was seen as tempting fate. Thanks for watching our video!
Love it! All those sweet barn animals ❤
I enjoyed this!
Awesome!

Good presentation. Was there any differences in style or fabric between headwraps and neckerchiefs in the time period?
Great question! Neckerchiefs and headwraps were often interchangeable. Both items were predominately made of cotton and linen. However, there is evidence that enslaved women would even use scrap material such as from a soldier’s coat, left over cloth from a loom, or even a sail. There were laws such as the South Carolina Negro Act of 1735 that did however state which fabrics black people were legally allowed to wear. These fabrics included: ozenbrig, jean, check linen and cotton, scotch plaids, and kerseys.
@@CultureHeritageMuseums I assume that ozenbrig is the same as osnaburg. What are "jean" and "kerseys" in the period.
@@leoscheibelhut940 Great questions! Yes, ozenbrig and osnaburg are just variations of spelling the same type of cloth depending on the region. Kersey is also a type of coarse woollen cloth that was spun and was more wind and rain proof. Early denim or jean came about in the 19th century and became more common for the enslaved because of its durability.
Very nicely done! ❤RH👣
Thanks so much Bigfoot! 😁

“I’m not superstitious, but I am a little stitious.” -Michael Scott
I've thought about these things for a while, armchair anthropology expert that i am. Some mirrors also use to be made with mercury, unusual and toxic properties, so cleaning up broken glass with poison, reasonable that people could get sick after. Hold your breathe going past cemetary- probably smell before embalming was common Lift your feet going over railroad tracks- was a car's suspension not very good, did the seats have suspension or extra cusioning? Or were some tracks electrified and before rubber shoes were common maybe you could get shocked? Walk under a ladder 5 years bad luck- i mean, dont walk under ladders, thats common sense, someone could drop something on you, or the ladder could fall. Throw salt over your shoulder for good luck- dont know, but making a circle of salt as a protective circle seems like it could be related somehow.
Thanks for watching and your comment!
Thank you.
