Router chains make this game famous, and it kinda sucks cos that's people's impressions of the game. So you join a random game online and see someone just learning the ropes and there's router chains feeding everything. Don't use them. Ever. No more than 2 routers or gate blocks, then you need a conveyor belt to separate them. They have been _intentionally programmed_ to slow down when you place more than 2 beside each other. The gates used to be able to be used for instantaneous transport, so the dev had to do this to stop that. I think it was a good decision. While we're on the topic, it's also worth considering belt math. Let's look at a duo filled with copper being supplied with a basic conveyor belt: Conveyor speed = 4.2 items/s Duo firing rate = 3 per second Duo copper ammo efficiency = 2 What is ammo efficiency? For every 1 item loaded into the turret it can shoot that many times. So in a duo, 1 piece of copper will allow the duo to make 2 shots. So how many duos can this basic belt supply? 4.2 / (3÷2) = 2.8 So what does this mean? It means your basic conveyor cannot supply any more than 3 duos that are shooting at the same time. So why are you supplying like fucking 40 in a router chain? Only the first 3 being fed will shoot, and the 3rd one will only shoot 80% of the time. And this number gets lower when you add coolant.

One thing i didnt know for a long time was that you need to feed sand to the oil extractor... I thought it just needed to be built on sand and then it would mine the sand and use that to make oil. Sooo for several hours of gameplay i thought the extractors were glitched so i just didnt use them. Tbh i still barely use them. People play on maps with sand and coal and then drop those extractor schematics using like 3000 power to make like 3 silicon per second. Instead you could easily latch up a coal mine and some sand and make 12 per second for like 700 power; the power cost of 3 airblasts, 3 water extractors and 8 silicon smelters

Tsunamis have a little trick with oil. If you find a good corner, you can pin ground mobs into the wall with the knockback. Combine that with pyra and they'll burn whole barely moving

I have 3400 hours in mindustry and recently went back and played update 7. I had a mod on update 4 I think it was that was Japanese or Chinese based but still had rough translated help files and it was friggin amazing. It had like 9 new planets fully fleshed out and tons of new buildings and stuff and all the new mods for update 7 are boring trash. Tried several of them and the effort to only add a couple planets was super underwhelming. Was really excited to see what kind of big mods people had made and there are some serviceable ones but nothing good on update 7. I had to fix/edit a lot of lua on Exogenesis and any other mods that add planets are laughable. I played frozen far lands but beat it in like 110 hours and I was looking for multi planet couple thousand hours long grand campaign. Oh well I will have to downgrade and go digging around. Really not happy with current mods available for update 7. Satisfactory got better, mindustry got more boring.

A fairer comarison would have been to include the space needed to fuel the gens. Obviously a started impact reactor with two infinite sources beats everything else, but you have to start it, and you have to fuel it. The cryofluid production is ... Fine, but you also have to get the ressources and factories to produce the blast compound. Solar still wouldn't win, but at least it would be fair.
