Why wd help play with Hagar I don't really like in van Halen I liked him solo but he is running around like he is Van Halen no he was just a singer in the band nni agree with Alex with Roth they were heavy n exciting more like a bubble gum band with Hagar . Ginger to me wouldn’t even rank in the top five drummers in rock no. 1 was Neil Peart, followed by Jim Gordon, but best drummer of all time Buddy Rich Noone's even close. I’m been drummer all my life in amateur bands playing rock, country, blues and jazz. I don’t know which is second but the hardest music to drum to is Jazz.

Just bought an L/P ALEX VanHalen signature cowbell with the same tone as the one used on the song DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY , bought it after reading his book BROTHERS . Great book but it only took 3 days to read .

Eddie was playing keyboard solos long before Sammy Hagar joined the band. The change from Metal band to Pop band was not Hagar's fault.

Stopped listening at around 0:39 after the assertion that Hagar "helped propel the band to new heights". One can argue that Van Halen plateaued with Roth, or that it went downhill post-Roth, but to suggest that it got better with Hagar is just stupid.

Both of the Van Halen brothers were excellent musicians. But the way they have always treated other people has always been dismal! I was so sad when David Lee Roth left the band. I first heard is take on it and he expressed gratitude to the members of the band and explained he felt it was time to go separate ways, but that he'd always relish the time he spent with them and wished them well. A day later, the Van Halens were being interviewed, and all they did was talk smack about David! That really bummed me out because I had assumed Eddie was a really cool dude - I think because he had the best tone of all guitar players at that time, and his style of playing was so cool. To witness him bad mouthing DLR and complaining about trivial stuff... It was like listening to a rejected girl talking down her ex-boyfriend. In the decades since, all I ever read about both Van Halen brothers are stories just like that. Great musicians, but childish behavior.
