That was the perfect diy "explanation" for how to make those awesome rolling plant stands. Minus the bulldozer tracks, of course, lol. Not sure too many people will be able to come across many of those. But, hey, some folks might be able to think up somethin' else. Dang, I bet those roll stands will last way more than just a few seasons. Well done. Hope ya'll stay safe in the coming week. Ryan Hall Ya'll says it's might be a doozy for some folks.
@@michelefarling6934 thank you for your kind reply, I was hoping it helps. Yes, suppose to get anywhere from 14°F to 17° lows for my area come Tuesday and below freezing all week 🥶! Be safe!
We're do you buy reflector bubble wrap around pots. How often do you water the grow bags fruit trees during the different seasons. Ie now in winter.
@@bayleechristina7121 I thought I added it, I'll see if I can do so now. Here is the link: Double Bubble Insulation a.co/d/fZwgjWx
@ How often do you water your fruit trees in bag during various seasons. Ie winter vs summer
@bayleechristina7121 I live in southeast Texas were we have hot summers that get no rainfall for long periods of time, those days I water really deep every 3 days or as needed. Winter I water once every 10 or so days. I watch them and when they look a little dry I water. I have them in a plastic covered tunnel in the winter time. I use the roll of bubble insulation to cover the inside of the tunnel during really cold weather (for here 17°). I just run the bubble between the plastic and the bars. We get sporadic weather so when it's sunny and warm (50+°) I take the bubble down. Also, during warmer weather I open an end and turn a fan on to give them air circulation. I can film and show you if interested. Hope that helps.
@ A film would be nice. My weather is not as extreme as Texas. I live in California. My plants are also younger. So trying to find the right water balance is hard. Keeping them in bags does make them lighter and easier to move. Having your hubby do a video on plant movers would be nice as well. I appreciate the info. You have shared.
Where do you get the bubble wrap to cover grow bags i do not see link for bubble wrap in your introduction
@@bayleechristina7121 I apologize. Here is the link: Double Bubble Insulation a.co/d/fZwgjWx
@@bayleechristina7121 Good morning, If you go to the description area if this video you will now see a link to the growbox caddy. I hope this helps.
@@Dionne2U2 Do you only use double bubble wrap in summer o does it also help in winter when it is cold
@bayleechristina7121 it stays on the pots year round. I keep it very loose fitting so to still get the air flow but stop the direct sun from hitting. In winter they help insulate the roots as well.

That’s called Tidbitting
@@wayne.bridgemohan thank you! I've never had a rooster before so I found this so sweet. He only gives it to the hens he grew up with. The ISA Browns (red ones) he breeds but he doesn't pamper them 😊
@@Dionne2U2hey there again, yeah those hens haven’t identified him yet as their lead so they probably won’t come to him yet unless they accept him for mating. Regardless it’s a pretty cool trait by roosters. Very masculine for sure to take care of his girls that way and eat last. A good rooster also doesn’t force mating with females like some do. As long as you have a solid and strong matriarch hen she’ll keep the pecking order intact. If you get close to your rooster as well he will tidbit to you as well.
@9235wayne thanks for the info! He was raised by a broody hen so he is kinda stand-off right now, however he is getting closer. I saved his life after a hawk attack when he was a teenager so hopefully he remembers 🤞As for the breeding, he breeds them all, doesn't hurt them but I do notice he only feeds his youth mates and won't give it to the red ones. Very cool to watch how they interact. And yes I have a few bossy hens (red) 😆 🤣 😂 they keep him in check I've noticed.
@@Dionne2U2yes chickens are a thrill to watch. My grandparents always had em in the Caribbean and now that I live in Canada, I just have them for fun. To watch them etc. but do get lots of eggs. I had a hawk on top one of my hens getting ready to rip her apart and the rooster just alerted everyone. I ran outside with the shotgun because I thought it was a coyote. Regardless there wasn’t much left of the hawk. I love my chickens too much each of em have their own personality and well I do have my fav ones…. Peggy mostly and well Thelma & Louise as well haha. The rest are lower in the pecking order
@9235wayne yes they are fun to watch, always so busy ! Every morning I have coffee while watching them! Hawks are bad here so after that incident I put a net over the entire chicken yard. Love the names of your hens. I sadly don't name mine besides Lil Ladies lol yep even the rooster comes to "lil ladies" lol. Speaking of chickens... they are calling me! Have a great day and hope you are staying warm!

Nice set up! New subscriber here. That metal shed is terrific. Curious if your health improved with the rabbit meat? I’ve got 2 does and one buck - just about ready to bred them. I have one grow-out who escaped from his cage….he lives in the yard and hangs out with the hens. Yeah…..he’s a pet now. Bunnies are just too darn cute.

@@codyshi4743 hello, thanks for the question. They have solid black and solid white. Usually about half and half.
I like how you insulated the grow bags, very creative, good job! Do you think growing in bags like those would hold the roots from puncturing the grow bags in a few years?
@@onionpeeler2023 hello, thank you for your question. I have had mine in grow bags for two years. I place the insulation around them 2in away from walls of grow bags so air still gets to the grow bag. Have never had a problem. I do take the insulation off in winter being less harsh sun and they don't dry out as fast. Hope this helps.

And the female clearly isn’t comfortable
@@Worm_onastring6 that's how they breed. In the wild the male rabbit will chase the female and try to convince her to breed, the same as they are doing here. She will not allow him to breed if she doesn't want him and he will not force her. I give them about 10 min to breed and watch close because if the doe doesn't want to breed then a doe has been known to castrate bucks.
@@Dionne2U2 mmm!!! I didn’t know that,Thx for the info
@@Dionne2U2it’s just that the mating area is a lil small but that kinda makes it better cause she can still run around

Where did you get the grow bags and that wrap. If you say later in the video, please excuse my question.
Hello Patricia. I believe I put links in the comment section for both the wrap and grow bags.
Check out the Millennial Gardener's channel. He put out a video a while back about lessons learned about growing fruit trees in grow bags. Spoiler alert - He'll never do it again. I experienced the same problem, even with long-growing vegetables and herbs. We have a very long growing season here. Also recommend watching Dr. Purvis' channel - Garden Myths. He put out a good video about grow bags and debunked the "myth" about lower temperatures in grow bags compared to plastic pots. Gary Matsuoka on his Laguna Hills Nursery channel also gave a class where he stated that after a certain size, there was no difference in temperatures. I don't remember what the cut-off was. Both very informative channels, as is yours. Thanks for putting out great videos!
Thanks for an informative video. How large was the plastic pot that root bound your little guava tree? Must've been pretty small. Nice rollers for your grow bags. I only use grow bags for seasonal vegetables. They've only lasted two years (max) down here in south Florida (11A). I can place them along the perimeter of my backyard where I was able to put drip and soaker hoses to timers. Can't do that in the middle of my yard and grow bags dry up too quickly even with saucers under them until the rainy season. Plastic pots have worked much better for me and my fruit trees. Keep up the great work!
Thank you. Let's see, the pots I bought the trees in were 3 gallon plastic they were smaller trees but i was waiting for fall to transplant so in that time they became extremely root bond. I agree with the grow pots drying out, I was having that problem too but the bubble insulation has really put an end to that and the pots are holding up nicely, they still look new. My experience is they last if not touching the ground and quality of pot does matter. My patio is in full sun from sunrise to sunset. I water once every other day to every two days in the summer months. Hope this helps clarify things. Each zone is so very different. In the end we have to find what works for our special situation. Have a great day my friend and happy growing 🌱!!
