its a good guitar to upgrade. we've got vintage dimarzio's in it and upgraded tuners... but yeah need to upgrade and mod it all to make it worthwhile.. people selling these stock for more than 300$ shouldnt be surprised when they dont sell

To my ears, the screamin’ demon sounds better. Tight and fat low end. The chopper sounds a bit shrill in comparison. Great video and superb playing as always.

I own the Katana 50 and I’ve played through the catalyst 60, and I prefer the Katana. The thing about the katana is that it doesn’t sound like anything else but itself. The catalyst to me sounds like it’s trying to sound like other apps. Like a modeler. Kit sounds more direct. I will admit that the 50 is a little boxy. If you don’t want that, then get the katana 100 and trust me it will not sound boxy at all.

Are you using the stock 250k volume pot? Was considering this or a red devil to match up with Texas specials.

#1 sounds like a Strat and #2 sounds like an Ibanez.

It is better to have the DP100 (DiMarzio Super Distortion), and then you can always tweak down the gain or volume when needed, rather than the Pearly Gates, which has limits on how aggressive it can go. I still have my old DP100 from the 80s on my Strat and wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

If Seymour duncan make a pearly gates with a bit more gain will be perfect

I love this demo. I wish you could’ve demoed the pickup in a clean setting. I love the distorted lead sound, but I can’t find a single video that exists where this is played clean. Have you any experience with the cleans tones? How are they?
