Drung Films is a collective of Tibetan filmmakers based in Dharamsala fostering a community that shares knowledge, skills and connections to tell stories about Tibet, India and beyond. Drung filmmakers and members are dedicated to the advancement of story-telling in the Tibetan exile communities. The collective provides a unique mutual support system for local filmmakers to share, build and realize various film projects by sharing resources and expertise. Drung also focuses on building a community of story-tellers through workshops, film screenings and other educational programs.
State of Statelessness [BIFF 2024 OFFICIAL TRAILER]
State of Statelessness ས་མཐའི་ལས་དབང་། is the first-ever Tibetan-language anthology feature film, exploring the profound themes of statelessness and migration through four poignant stories of Tibetans living in exile. Directed by Tibetan filmmakers in India, America, and Vietnam, the film captures the painful realities of a scattered people, from a father's tale of the Mekong River to a son's discovery of a family secret in Dharamshala.
