Please somebody knows the name of the song that him plays? Pleaaaaseeeeee😢
The first three albums are amazing. One of the best hard rock bands from 70's. Ond one of the most underrated.
The first time I ever saw and heard Budgie was in 1981 at St Albans Civic hall after I split up with my girlfriend and my mates Ted and Pete took me out one Saturday evening and it changed my life you were fucking amazing, we saw you loads of other times at festivals especially the Reading Rock Festival. That was a good gig for us getting shit faced and then dropping loads of speed and driving to Royal Standard pub in Walthamstow in London that held a heavy metal night every weekend. Crazy brilliant times.
Don't lay down and die!
What is the song called he is singing?
I remember them when Joe anthony introduced them to the SA kiss / kmac ,those were the days,I'll never forget ,
Budgie are still my inspiration. One of the best bands on the planet. xxxxxxx
In the 2000s - 2010s, just when metal was starting to come back, we had this thing that we kept Budgie for ourselves, it was a secret band that only the worthy should be allowed to listen to. You only showed it to people you know were "true".
With the sad passing of the incredible Burke Shelley.....all my hopes for a reunion and comeback tour have gone.....luckily saw Budgie live several times here in South Western UK.....right from 1970 and onwards.....Always fantastic..especially with Tony Bourge on guitar.......How can those fabulous times be gone.....??!!??
Yeah prices are going up but I plan on staying in Port Talbot forever
Looking back, 2020 didn't feel real
RIP Burke . Abertillery Youth Centre in 1972, would have made me 13 or 14 and it was like loud and we stood next to the speakers (thanks Tinnitus) I saw them quite a few times after that but was disappointed when Ray left. I have this memory of seeing Ray in a band in Arreal Street Club(Sixbells)some time later with his own band which I think was called Woman? Then many years later I was doing a stunt as a DJ in a club in Tredegar and one afternoon I heard this band practising downstairs.. went to have a look and it was Ray & Tony with a few others & they had formed a band apptly called Tredegar. My memory is a bit sketchy but I saw them perform at a few gigs and one day got to meet the guy who was there Manager - one afternoon I was sat in an office with him & Ray and they were planning to play Montreaux a few months later - there was big hopes for them. Anyway, I sorta got offered the job of doing some PR work for them but was told I would have to give up my job in the local steelworks... security of a job was something I had since leaving school and I bottled it and turned it down - I suppose it worked out ok for me in that respect. Tredegar brought out one LP to my knowledge and my bro in law has a copy - with a gold embossed Tredegar on the cover. I have sold my most of my vinyl but still have my gatefold sleeve copy of Never Turn Your Back On A Friend.... that LP I reckon was their finest.
Legends R I P BURKE
RIP Burke x
RIP Burke.
if theres darkness and shadow where there should be light thats when you know its got spirits. i call them dark houses and wont live in them anymore. usually you'll get black or white orbs moving along paths at floor level too. im guessing theres bright houses also but im not sure how you'd recognise that so easily. the really nasty ones can make a shadow so dense you cant see through it and they can take whatever form they like.
From the time I first heard Budgie back in 1975, I was hooked. Budgie was a great impact on me, their unique heavy metal rock sound, Tony's SG guitar riffs, Shelly's high pitch voice and thumping bass lines, and Ray Philips bashing heavy on the skins. You guys were awesome and original.
ive been listening to budgie since my early teens im now 62 and still listen to them. . nobody could match them. . 🤘😎
Yep, They Were Absolutely Impeccable.
@@chuckmagpie4159 Those that do not like Budgie are living in Cuckooland

Budgie was one of my favorite bands in the 70's. I have so many memories of your songs. My favorite was Parents. I had a recording of me dancing to that song with my infant daughter in 1990. I played that video of us during our Father/Daughter dance at her wedding recently.
Parents is such a phenomenal song every time I hear it I get so emotional I have a Tear in my eye but it's a good... Tear 😂
I love Budgie and john shelly was a christian so I will see him again that is a promise of jesus bible.❤❤❤❤
Budgie. Excellent! 🎸🎸🎸👋👍🎼

Born in Cardiff Loved Budgie ever since the first album .True Pioneers of Heavy Rock.A mention too for 2 great Welsh bands, Sassafras and Man.
Deke's a legend.
Made my day that interview. I know Cardiff well and the arcades, lovely city lovely people. Very happy memories.
Love this band!!
Cheers from your loyal fans here in Australia...Budgie...still hotter 'n a dockers armpit.

really wished this interview went on longer......
After getting a taste from Metallica's Garage Inc, I listened to every Budgie album I could get my hands on. Burke and Tony where really big inspirations for how I play. This was really cool to hear
Love this band, discovered them in high school in the Chicago area in the late 1970s. I used to bring their LPs and later recorded to cassette ( so as not to damage the LPs) to stoner and keg parties and blow people away with their music. Sometimes I got kicked out becasue someone took off my Bandolier LP and put on freaking Fleetwood mac, yuck! I'm halfway through reading the first two Budgie books that Ray sent me. This is a nicely shot interview with Ray, is there more footage to this interview?
I know Burke hes a really nice guy ain’t seen him for a couple years now
Not too well apparently bless him.
RIP Burke Shelley

it was a part of bigger interview or that was all?
I'm an Australian and a very good Aborigine friend of mine put me onto this crazy Welsh band. I fell in love. Music travells every where through everone, only if it's real and from the heart. Not found on the telly.
Absolutely great to hear from you Ray! I have been a Budgie fan since 1st year at Secondary school! Nude disintegrating parachutist woman got me hooked!
BUDGIE
That is beautiful. I'm a true Budgie fan and I admire and respect their work. My favorite band. God bless Ray Phillips.
Yes that's a BANKSY piece . Very nice . Now for all you "haters" of this artist and yes it is ART , This is Banksy's voice and opinion of POLITICAL ISSUES ! Live ya Banksy .
Fair play to him ruclips.net/video/nD9yTvXUjqI/видео.html
Please do a reunion with the original members and do a world tour so everyone will witness who is Budgie!
That would be fabulous! We can only hope!
Can't happen won't happen, sadly.
RIP Burke Shelley
