YJNR to Hamburg on the Pennsy
In this video we get to take a rare look at operations North of Leesport on the former Pennsylvania Railroad Schuylkill Branch, known today by Reading and Northern as "the Pennsy."
Operation North of Grow Mark in Leesport is quite rare, consisting of only the occasional storage move or trip to the RCT&HS museum in South Hamburg. The last train on the line to Hamburg was November of last year. Follow along as we give chase to YJNR1 taking a Reading Company gon to the museum and pulling two hoppers of assorted scrap material.

With record breaking wildfire smoke filling the sky in large portions of the Northeast, I spent Wednesday evening filming trains under the Martian like sky along the NS Reading Line. Allentown & Auburn is also seen setting off a car at McConway & Torley in Kutztown.

Follow along for the chase of CNJ 113 and WCGS With snow in the forecast, another day of chasing the CNJ 113 powered Santa trains was in order! Seen at Marlin, Indian Run, Beckville, and Schuylkill Haven. As an added bonus, the 'Goodspringer' job had to make a run out of Cressona Yard up the Tremont Branch to Koppy's Propane. Reading & Northern T1 2102 Shakedown Run

After 3 days of testing earlier in the month, 2102 was was again brought out of the steam shop, this time towing 50 coal hoppers in order to simulate the weight of 18 loaded passenger coaches. The test run was an outstanding success: to everyone involved in the restoration, job well done!

Follow both LORAM grinders between Reading and Emmaus Why the extended chase? The NYC Trash Train. PA needs to stop landfilling NYC and Jerseys trash. Send it upstate NY and let NY take it's own garbage. Very few people know about this. NYC also gets a huge amount of it's fresh water from watersheds in NE and SE PA....
It goes to Michigan usually to get made into electricity…

Why is the bridge single tracked?
When the bridge was built it had 2 mains thru town; Conrail single tracked it due to lack of traffic once most of the coal business dried up.

Yes I love the lack of graffiti thanks to it's incredibly remote location. The south portal is caved in yes.

That steamer was workin it at 7:54! One of my clients has a huge train set up in his basement. Why was there a diesel pusher on the back.Just in case? New sub man.
The diesel on the other end allowed changing directions quickly in Minersville and Schuylkill Haven without use of a Wye track.

What a mess this day was. They had to shave 21E in half (double to single stack) and send it down the Dale Secondary onto the Keystone Corridor, the morning was oddly quiet in my neck of the woods (Lower Harrisburg & Morrisville lines at the KOP area) heard the whole area REEKED of rubbish! I don't call 63V the "Jersey Stinky" for nothing

Picked point is what I heard yes, although it is kinda odd considering the switch where 63V derailed was trailing point
At the beginning of the radio transmissions after the derail someone on the train crew said it was rough going through a certain location. I’d say bad track at that location.
Lmfao...there's literally no such thing as a "picked switch". It just doesn't happen in modern day. There's many things that could have been the cause, and a lot of times the hard evidence is destroyed.
not sure what they are spraying out the side of the one tanker but if I was the homeowner at that one crossing I'd be pissed that they were spraying that so far onto the property.
I'm hoping it was just water. But if it was weed killer. I would be highly pissed off that they sprayed it on my property
