The recording was made on my IC-705 straight to the SD card in the radio, which was listening to the Sulphur Springs repeater. Note that the recording is only about 17 minutes long but the net was up for much longer than that. The radio only records when the squelch is opened and then stops recording two seconds after the squelch closes so what you are hearing is very condensed with the quiet t...

Nelson-Riggs CAS-375 Spyder Cover on my NX700X. It used to cover the seat nicely until I put the trunk "Really Big Butt" on the back. It still covers the bike but the seat is more exposed on the sides.

Scooter Ramp & Insert
Просмотров 97 тыс.14 лет назад
A plywood insert for a Honda Mini-Van to hold an electric wheelchair scooter and ramp. The ramp is from Harbor Freight, small wheels and large hinges are from my local hardware store.
You make it look so easy! I sure hope this was the first take video and it gets easier the more you do it.
There is a digital recording of this song available on CD. Not sure about download. I posted the chords on it a few years back. Loved Steve Fromholz and his music. I heard this song the first time when I was in college. Steve was opening for BW Stevenson at a college gig. Steve was wonderful. He was funny and entertaining.
i cant lift that...copd and congestive heart failure..
A DISABLED PERSON CANNOT PICK UP THE RAMP. WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU.
😂
Hey man, question for you I’m waiting for a coupon to come out for those ramps because I need to load a Harley streetglide and roadking into my shop, it’s only a foot or a little more off the ground, I know there’s a hugh weight difference in a battery wheelchair and a motorcycle but since you have one do you see it working without any issues ?
I was named after this song. My parents, god bless em, we’re hippies and I’m guessing I must have been conceived at the Kerrville Folk Festival the night Stephen Fromholtz played… Dad idolized this guy. I had never thought to look up and listen to this song till today. Wow. ❤️🤔🤯
I also bought Harbor Freight's 6' aluminum ramps. I separated mine. They weigh about 15 lbs. each. Love them. Suggestion: BACK the unit up & into the van. Better access to joystick & better maneuverability inside the van.
I was privileged to meet Steve and Don performing as Frummox at the Chequered Flag in Austin in 1969 or thereabouts. Their first album had just been released, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Steve’s untimely and tragic accidental death still affects me when I think about it, but we have his music to remember him by.
my parents named me after this song and 20 years later i’m just now listening✌🏻
Hello- may i ask what kind and where you got the "hinges" up at the top? What kind are they and what are they meant for? I would like to find them.
First heard this song in Austin over 40 years ago. Still haven't heard a better one. RIP Steve Your music lives on.
RIP my friend I will see you in heaven.
I know in America the public health system isn't free and supportive like here in New Zealand, so I admire your ingenuity in creating this and it is clearly of use to you, your loved one and anyone else whose family unit is the same as yours. Great job, whoever you have done this for is very lucky to have you.
איפה אפשר לקנות את זה
I love that Ramp, Harbor Freight you say, thank you!
Boy, you’ d better be very able bodied with that set up, I’m disabled & alone & I wouldn’t tackle that, sorry .
My dad sang this song to me when I was little. He still does sometimes. Steven Fromholz is his favorite singer/writer. I wish more of his music was available. I know so many of his songs that I can't find recorded anywhere.
Dallas was a great place to go see live music in the late 60's and into the 70's. Guys like Fromholz, Ray Hubbard (now Ray Willie Hubbard), Michael Murphy (now Michael Martin Murphy), B W Stevenson, Rusty Weir, and quite a few more I have forgotten the names. That was quite a time to be alive!
Good solution. I've got an aluminum ramp too and wish it was made out of feathers instead of the noisiest material known to man. To all the trolls missing a sense of humor that was a joke.
too cumbersome but thanks
It sounds like the ramps would make a ton of noise rattling while you drive, maybe jam a piece of foam in between with a bungee to hold it steady.
Excellent DIY info, with the added mini wheels and hinges! thank you!
Do you have Aunt Minnie and the Bear from this show?
Unfortunately I don't. That was a wonderful story that always left me in stitches.
Great if you are able bodied of have a partner or a carer to load it for you. It's far too much work for many disabled people like myself, but I do like the hinged ramp idea, very inovative.
excellent thinking and carrying out plans you can control the chair better than I can and I have been using mine two years. Great job
I think I was there when this was recorded.
Thank you for posting this live recording. I was having a hard time finding a copy of Dear Darcie. I know that Darcie sure must miss her Daddy. I sure do. Love you Steve.
Sympathies from Monica, Tim, Julie and Michael.
That is a real cool shot of Stephen Stills and Steve Fromholz from his Manassas days. I had that on 8-track.
Gonna shed a few tears, say a few prayers and give thanks for Steve Fromholz. May God shed His tender mercies on Steve's family and friends.
RIP Steven.
good idea with the wheels! I'm gonna do that
gostaria de saber onde tem um a fabrica dessas no brasil?
you did a great job, well done. Hey kitfoxflyer, its obviously designed for those who are able bodied who need an easy way of transporting an electric wheelchair. No need to think about it!
looks like a lot of work-- how could a disabled person use this ? think about it !!
It is for people who have family or friends with them to do the work. It is far cheaper than buying an installed ramp system.
Video was too short, add more next time on the interior and driving a HDT
Me too.
i love to see women on the open road.
