TCMC Swatch Cards Flip Through
Просмотров 80Год назад
I finished swatching all the TCMC (The Coffee Monsterz Co) washi that I have and even made cards for the ones I don't have yet. Here's a flip through of all of them in case you're curious what specific ones look like. The foil on most of the swatches showed up pretty nicely. I hope you don't mind a little bit of extra chatter! TCMC: thecoffeemonsterzco.com/ My TCMC referral link: i.refs.cc/DUiI...

Halloween Mini Album/Journal *SOLD - Thank You!*
Просмотров 6502 года назад
This is a fun Halloween mini album or journal, or both! Plenty of space inside for pictures and journaling, and you can even add more pages if you like because it is bound with binder rings, which can be opened and the contents moved around. Too many pictures? You can simply glue them back to back, punch holes in the side, and easily add to the album/journal wherever you'd like. It has flip out...

Tulips Double Side Spines Junk Journal Flip Through
Просмотров 432 года назад
I renamed this style of journal because I don't think my previous name was quite right. A quick flip through of my newest JJ featuring a tulips theme. I kept this one more clean and simple with no distressing or really tatty elements. There are sewing threads hanging, but I think they don't take away from the clean look because they are white. Thanks for watching! UPDATE: My Etsy shop is now op...

(Not Really) Quick Tip #7 - Die Cutting Templates
Просмотров 3002 года назад
This video is specifically meant for the Taylored Expressions line of background stamps, stencils, and dies. Instead of stamping and coloring first, then lining up the dies multiple times to cut all of the individual images, I show you how to make a template for lining up the diecuts. Then you can simply cut all of your images from plain cardstock, and then stamp and color them how you want! Ho...
(Not So) Quick Tip #6 - Press 'N Seal Frame

A not too quick tip about making a sticky frame to hold your Press 'N Seal so it's easier to handle. And also a little bit about how to use it with die cuts. In the video, I said that Jennifer McGuire had come up with the PNS technique, but it was actually Laurie Willison. I apologize. Still relevant 2024. Thanks!
white colour cloth name plz
It is Bosal precut 2.5" batting
How about using tools that we don't have to buy.
You can easily do this by hand and fold it in half and then fold the edges back in to the center and sew it down. I use the 1/4” seam allowance so my zigzag covers the seam allowance. I do however have this bias tool and find my long ropes so much easier to put together.
What filler are you using?
Bosal precut 2.5" batting
I’ve gotten a few of these. I love them.
Me too!
I LOVE selvages and their rows of ink colors but had no idea of how to use them. Your pouch is a great idea, thanks so much for sharing 🩷
What is the cover you have on your glue bottle .
It's a metal tip that I got with my Art Glitter Glue. You can see it here (affiliate link) amzn.to/3LOHVTg
This used to be all waste/trash for Moda but now they’re selling it and people are buying it.
TU 4 the tip Maureen...from Maureen!
I am so glad that I researched more. This makes it so much easier! I was not sure if I could do this but now I know I can. Thanks!!!! Love the idea of the spool to keep the batting on but I don't have those but I bet a paper towel holder from the $ store would work?
I'm sure it would! Thank you for your sweet comment!
Great tip. Thanks so much!
Love this ruler!
Beautiful collection! And I love that swatch book!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the beautiful coloring technique you did on the first video. Also, thanks for this comparison video. Have you tried not laying down the lightest color first? Start with the darkest and work out to the lightest. I saw a live video with an OLO crafter rep and that was how she recommended coloring. She said she used to color the way you presented but changed with these markers because they are juicier. She used Express-it paper in case you want to know the paper. I would love to have your thoughts. Glad I found you and I did subscribe for more.
Sometimes I forget and just go from the darkest lol. I hadn't heard that about the Olo markers - thanks so much for the info. I haven't been coloring lately, but when I do, I'll definitely try it out, and maybe try out the Xpress It card again.
Great idea! Just out of curiosity, has anyone not cut a frame and just stuck to a sticky mat?
Great colored images! I really liked how the colores looked on the Hammermill paper. Maureen, could you tell what was the weight of the Hammermill paper that you used? Thanks :)
Thanks! It's the 100 lb. cover stock.
Your coloring is very nice. Thanks for the paper comparison.
Thank you very much and you're welcome!
Where can I find those cute reinforcements?
They're in die sets from Elizabeth Crafts. Here's my affiliate link to their Halloween stuff - look for the 3 die sets: shrsl.com/3pdet
Hello, Do you sell any of the junk journals you create?
Yes, I do! In fact, this Halloween album is up in my Etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/1297502991/handmade-halloween-mini-album-or-journal Thanks for asking!!
Beautiful job! Lots of room and the ribbon tabs are a nice touch! 🧙♀️🧹🎃
Thank you! Yes, I love adding fabric to my journals!
First video I've seen of yours! Looks great! Good idea to use the rings to allow for expansion! House shape is cute too! Happy spooky season! 🎃 🕸️ 🕷️
Thank you! You too!
I love this journal! So clever!🎃👻
Thanks so much! 😊
Love the shape of that witch hat on the cover! The stitching threads just add to the creepiness of the project...nice! I like the way you sewed a flip onto pages. While this is a kit, you have made it your own. WELL DONE!!
Thank you so much for all your kind words!!
Terrific tutorial, thank you for sharing your tips and use of the octagon. Very clever.
You are so welcome!
So cute!! You did a fabulous job with it!!
Thank you very much!!
Love the paper and junk journal design will have to look for the paper.
What card stock did you use? I look forward to seeing my coloring videos with the olo markers. Thanks
It's the Hammermill Premium Color Copy Card in 100 lb. (which sounds really heavy weight, but it's not). I also ordered some Neenah that I'm going to try out as well. I never cared for the Xpress It with my Copics so I don't use it, but maybe it's time to give it another try...
@@Maureen97Designs it is very smooth? I have been looking for a smooth paper.
It is very smooth and I like it so far. But I have heard good things about the Neenah as well, so that's what I'm trying next.
Would you Share the Name of Brand of that Black&White BUNNY PAPERS & BRAND PAPERS FOR Bowl with Kitty? LOVE THE COLORS & ALL THE POCKETS & EVERY DETAIL OF THIS JOURNAL....I WOULD LOVE ONE WITH GARDEN FLOWERS, TOO!! The Sheer Ribbons at top remind me of Topps of Carrots just picked from Garden!! IS COUNTRY BUNNY PAPPER FOR SALE THRU ETSEY? JANICE GAMMILL-ATLANTA, GA
Thank you!! The line is called Country Bunny and is from Country Craft Creations.
Thanks!
You're welcome!
Do you use gesso to make a thin page become thicker or to avoid the bleed out?
Mostly to avoid the bleed through, and also to give a nice surface to do arty stuff on.
Thanks for the info! I use a Cricut mat in my MISTI. Economical and works great.
Genius tip, Maureen! I have had the issues with Press 'n Seal being awkward to use that you pointed out, so I really like this frame idea. I forget if it was Jennifer McGuire or someone else, but she showed using the sticky mat itself to hold the die cuts, rather than the Press 'n Seal. Then just glue them down to your project, wait for the glue to set up/dry, and carefully peel off the sticky mat. Of course, the mat she used was clear so she could see where the die cuts were going. I like your idea about using the corner of the MISTI to line up the frame, though. I wonder if Iliana had any clue how versatile the MISTI was going to turn out to be when she invented it? :) I do have one question with your method, though. How do you store the frame with the Press 'n Seal on it to keep it from getting dusty? I have heard crafters say they reuse the PnS, but I never have because I couldn't figure out a good storage method for the piece I pulled off to use. I always feel guilty about throwing it away, since it's not biodegradable. The frame seems like it would compound the problem. What is your solution? Thank you for sharing this tip. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)
I think Iliana knew - that's why it's named the Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented!! Lol! I just slipped my sticky frame with Press 'N Seal into a clear page protector and have it in a folder with my sticky mats and grids and such for my MISTIs. Hope this helps!
I was going to suggest you keep it (sticky side up) in a thin (1/2 inch thick) plastic paper keeper to keep it clean.
Love this idea. Thank you. But how does the card stay in place without using magnets?
I stuck it to my MISTI with some repositionable adhesive.
@@Maureen97Designs Aha! Thank you....🙂
Really appreciate your tips and thorough demos Maureen.
Thanks!
There are several type mats which one did you use? Light or standard? Thanks
I use the standard - it's still not overly sticky.
Genius idea! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
Wow, what a great idea, thank you for sharing
Thank you!
I’ve had a few - always exciting to see what I’ll get.
I agree! The best part is seeing what collection you get!
Great tip, Maureen! Thanks for sharing. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)
Thank you! You too!
Thanks for the tip, I haven't seen these brushes before, gonna try it with a makeup brush that size.
You’re welcome 😊 I would love to hear if the makeup brushes work - thanks!
Did you say 84 years?
Yes. It's a joke - a line from the movie Titanic!
Just bought this set (great Altenew sale!) and saw immediately I would have trouble lining it up. Found your video and my worries are over. Additionally I can go back to some other sets that have given me headaches and do the same thing. Thank you so much for your sharing!!
You're welcome and thanks for such a nice comment!
Hi what's the stamp you are using for your colour reference in your painting please Cheers Kerry 😊
Sorry, it's no longer available, but if you want to search for it, it was from the Sweet Stamp Shop's April 2019 subscription box.
Genius thank you
You're welcome!
I still haven't made my jolly box project so it's great to see how you did yours, love it, great video!
That came out so cute!
So much fun. I like your pages! It's going to be so cool and lovely when you keep on adding stuff & chunk it up!
THANK YOU FOR SHARING ! IS THERE A DIFFERENTS BETWEEN A MISTI AND OTHER BRANDS ?
Yes! All the different ones have slightly different designs and some work a little differently as well. I will always go with the MISTIs (in fact I just bought 2 of the mini in the new 2.0 style) because they were the first and I think are the best!! Yes, I am an affiliate, but I've tried most of the other stamping platforms out there and I always go back to the MISTI!! Here's my affiliate link if you want to check them out :) shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1129557&u=827939&m=77050&urllink=&afftrack=
Thank you for sharing. Great use for the lightbox that I have but seldom use.
This is a beautiful journal. I like how the sari silk peeks through where you connected the book pages.
Thank you!
