Good! I’m glad Jimmy Stewart was racist, makes me ❤ him even more! We’re supposed to be racist and love our own people more than others. We’re supposed to take care of our own and not open the doors and worry about strangers all the time. This is what’s bringing America to its knees!! Fond fond memories. When I was a boy this is a life I yearned for but it was pretend. When I was older and had a son, I couldn't help but to love him like this and we still have a wonderful relationship. As a boy I thought how much I missed out on dad. But as a father I look back and realize how much he missed out.

John Ford was a great director and the film she made were great because of his great direction and vision. That being said, it appears he enjoyed playing mind games with actors. Putting some on his good list and others on his shit list. Then, when it was expedient for him, he would switch things. Maybe this was his way to create competition among the actors and, thus, better performances. I dunno

Some things that have been coming out about John Ford makes him sound like an extremely vile human being. One book on Peter O'Toole quotes him as saying that Ford would go to Ireland and pick up child prostitutes. It didn't explain how he would know that. But, these rumors were circulating and some other rumors about him appear to be true so it is possible O'Toole's allegations could be true also. Just from his harassment of cast and crew though shows there was something wrong with him, despite John Wayne's love for him.

Jimmy Stewart was the essence of humility. War hero, great actor and unassuming. If only, today we had.......

The great honor of my life is to have been raised by parents from the Greatest generation. And Jimmy Stewart just oozes with that humble yet intelligent spirit so prevalent in their time. The more they pass on the more I miss them.

How did we go from great actors and human beings like him to the snowflakes we have now???

As a relatively young person I would give ANYTHING to have been an adult in the era of the 20's 30"s-40"s when America was new, sweet and kind (I know we had war) The music was romantic and tender, the homes were gorgeous and Americans dressed beautifully just to go shopping for groceries or to do their errands and there were NO drug addicted tent dwelling loafers laying on sidewalks...Only in my dreams and the old movies, or another country
