We stayed at Jen Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-La. We booked the superior room, 25sqm size, basic toiletries, water, tea and coffee provided. We did a short day trip to Old Phuket Town. Walking around to see the colourful Sino Portuguese town houses and beautiful architecture buildings. We came across Sang Tham shrine built by the Chinese immigrants during the 19th century. It’s free to visit but they will welcome donations. We also walked past a colonial style building which is the Kasikorn Bank. It’s beautiful building for photos. ...

The police boat 813 was anchored 1 nautical miles of the coast of Khao Lak. It was guarding the king’s grandson who was jet skiing in the area. We made a visit to KLCC to see the twin towers. The towers stand at 451.9m high with 88 stories. The skybridge is at 41st floor, 170m from the ground and weighs 750 tons.

In Starhill is Eslite Spectrum bookstore. It’s the first flagship store in Southeast Asia. Not only do they sell books, but also a variety of souvenirs, stationery, home wares and others. Most of the books are unwrapped so you can flip through. They have seating areas to read or work. There’s also a cafe onsite.

@@ttcwl That was an amazing well kept property for being 20 + years old. The breakfast buffet was the highlight though. The breakfast buffet at Merchant Kitchen was good, don’t get me wrong. However if you get a chance to stay at the JW by the airport, take advantage!
The breakfast at JW by the airport is better? We like the variety they offer, especially when staying for a couple of days.

Great video, it looks amazing! We are headed there in a few weeks time, any tips, tricks or advice?
If you are driving they have a parking lot with a ev charging station. Most important to plan the activities you are interested in and book ahead, if you are doing the cooking class go hungry as you eat what you cook, it’s a 3 course meal. The Lounge night band entertainment with happy hour is a great place to have a drink and chill. Breakfast at Merchant Kitchen has a broader variety, but Beach grill will give you the view of the beach. If you intend to dine for dinner at Thai Pantry book ahead, we had a time slot of 9pm and were hangry. Enjoy you stay!

Stayed here last November brilliant hotel and fantastic beach not to crowded. Have booked again for Feb 2025.

We've stayed twice over the past 2 years, we went back primarily for the top notch breakfast buffet. This was also one of the resorts decimated by the tsunami of 2004, under different ownership back then. There's a memorial to all those who perished a short drive inland.
Sounds you really enjoy the resort. The breakfast is amazing with the variety. We didn’t have enough time to discover the area much as we only stayed for 3 nights.
