Koblenz is a lovely town with lots of timber framed buildings. We were there for three really nice days.

Our housing was up the hill from Rose Barracks. I don't even recognize a lot of this now.

I called this home in 1983-86

I was assigned to the 576th Medical Detachment (Dental Services), along with the 225th Station Hospital on the "hill". Yes, Bad Kreuznach was a special assignment. The German people made it even better.

Thanks for showing us a beautiful part of Eastern France. My Dad was in the 3rd Infantry Division and participated in the battle of the Colmar Pocket. He said that one of the difficulties they had was the bitter cold and very heavy snow. Very unusual for this area. I have been up to Chateau de Haut Koenigsbourg in November when it was cold and windy but no snow. The beautiful view and the great food in the restaurant made it all worthwhile. Don’t recognize none of this. I was there from 1965-1967.

I was there from 85’ to 87’, I loved Rose Barracks also. I was in the 8th Signal Bn. Explored all over Germany and around base. Wish I could do it again. 😅😂😅

This is great; thank you! We were at Landstuhl in the 60s. The Bismarck Tower was next to the school I attended. Great memories.

Interesting video. Have been there once in the late 90’s, was invited by a German Reservist to take part in a sniper training at the range, and got to bring my C. shares in 45-70 to shoot at some long range targets.

I was on Marshall Kaserne from 97 to 2000.. Everything looks sooo different

Clearly this place was majical. I landed there in 93 not sure when I left but I had a chance to stay and european out as they called it. I didnt but I think I should have. One thing that I remember was that the city shut down in the middle of the day. When I first experienced it I was like what? They offered me a glass of apple scotch.

I was stationed at Rose Barracks from 1985-1988. Was with the 8th MP Co. Which was the first barracks to the left as you entered the main gate. Our Motorpool was was across the street. Went back as a tourist in 2012 and although the motor pool was an empty field, our barracks and the HQ building looked as it did in the 80s. Glad i was able so it before the bigger changes. Thanks for the video.

Enjoyed Baumholder August 1977 to August 1979.

So strange seeing the Wermacht Army soldiers all lined up on the same "football field" I stood, holding our Flag during a welcoming ceremony to a visiting US dignitary. We would play touch football on that same field on Sundays too. HHC 2nd Brigade 8th Infantry Division, 74-76. Nice to see too the very old photos of the town and its people.

Been 30+ years since I was there. I miss the city and the people. Back in the day there was a country bar/club called Dixie. A lot of good times there. My friends and I use to walk all over the place checking everything out on our time off. Plus many great festivals there. Just beautiful

Great photos and memories. There with 2nd Brigade 8th ID, 74-76. Strange to see the Military side all screened/gated/guarded off. Town looks fairly the same, albeit newer paint, landscaping, businesses, many that replaced the many bars and clubs back then. Nice job, thanks for sharing.

Love Bad Kreuznach! Love downtown area.Nightlife at clubs such as Roxy, Enigma, and Century Club were great memories. Miss the people I used to hang out with there.

I was stationed at Rose barracks in 1972 + and do not see anything familiar. There are about 100 ties more cars on the road than I ever saw back than. Most Germans didn;t even have a phoine either at this time. Nice video.

Nice video. I was stationed in BK back in 1972 at Rose Barracks so I have numerous memories. I understand what it is like when the downtown area is deserted. The place was just a small town all those years ago and every Sunday everything was closed so it made for a lonely walk.
