How we repaired our door after removing doggy door 2023

We didn't need the little doggy door any longer and came up with this idea to repair the door. You could also use this idea for other damage that may have happened to your door. It's a pretty simple diy, hope this video helps you out.

Here we are already at the end of the year and it's Christmas time. I did get my video up a little later than I wanted too but here it is LOL. You will see a lot of thrifted things as usual, but during these times of inflation on everything it's good to save where you can. Plus I enjoy a good bargain and the hunt. Hope you enjoy!

great video thanks so much :)
I'm camper living full time on my own property after my house burned down. My matress got chewed up by my german shepherd, and this reminded me that i had a big matress in storage that i could use instead of eating the massive price for a custom matress. Thank you so much.
Never saw quartz crack. I’m own a countertop shop . Has to be a defective slab . Looks like a MSI stone
Pls what sort of razor are you using. Need the same to fix mine. Thanks in advance
Can i do this down the middle to make it a tein size mattress!?!?!
Thanks so much. You have saved me pounds ❤
I have been looking for a solution to fix an unwanted catflap on a door. Thank you so much for sharing!
Contact cement is your friend dude.
Great video. Thank you for posting 👍🏻
Thank you for watching, I hope this video helps you out! Thanks again :)
Thank you !! I needed a good idea to cover our pet door! What kind of glue did you use ??
We used titebond glue it has a green lable, we bought it at Homedepot. I think it says ultimate wood glue. Thank you so much for watching, it sure worked out for ours 🙂
Thank you for showing this in so much detail, exactly the info I need to do the same for our RV.
Thank you for watching, I sure hope it helped you out :). Thanks again!
Thank you so much! The tutorial is amazing!!!!
Thank you for watching!
0:26 As a loving cat father of three girls… well, I guess there’s a reason I’m watching this video 😂
Thank you
what about fire rating
This is exactly what I was looking for!!! Thank you!
Happy to hear it might help you out, makes it worth posting :) . Thanks for watching and for leaving us a comment!
Do you mind stating what brand/type of mattress this is?
Hi and thank you for watching the mattres is a Signature Design by Ashley Queen Size Chime 12 Inch Hybrid Mattress with Cooling Gel Memory Foam. Have a wonderful day! 🙂
I have a 1969 Scotsman. I wish I knew how to fix it up it's in pretty good shape I don't have any mice or anything. I keep a tarp over it. I would love to live in it full time. You both did a beautiful job on your vintage trailer❤🎉
It was the first time we ever took on such a project lol, but we just took it one step at a time. We did learn as we worked and even thou it was hard at times we found it to be very satisfying. Maybe someday you can start on it even if it's small things to begin with. Thank you for stopping by and watching our little video and for you nice comment :)
Nice job..I have to reduce the size of a 5ft pocket spring matress to 4ft 6 inches here in the qeer old corrupt UK 🇬🇧..many thanks for this useful insight..
Thank you for watching and for your comment :), it takes a bit of time but totally can be done and doing it yourself saves lots of $$. Oh and Hello all the way to UK :)
What grit is the pad?
thanks for watching. We used 3-7/8 in. x 6 in. x 1/4 in. (9.84 cm x 15.2 cm x 0.635) Ultra Fine, 320 Grit, Finishing Hand Sanding Pads (2-Pack) we got them from Home Depot. I hope this helps you out. Thanks again! Reply
WHY
We shortened it to make it easier to get around the end of the bed. It worked out great!
sorry to hear that
Thank you and thank you for stopping by :)
why did they do the seam like that??
Well my husband said the company really is at fault for putting the seam there and not only that we have now seen that they did not have the counter level. Yep this counter was ordered through HomeDepot and they choose the installers, won't make that mistake again.
Spray w with water before scratching it with blade
I agree, that would had made it easier too. Thanks!
@@idratherbecamping6298 also the glue ... use the 2 stage one. the glue and activator... this will get harder sooner. Another thing if you trying to fix such a small crack then use the blade to spread the glue... it will be a lower layer of it to remove and you can be sure it will fill all the gaps and cracks.
Thank you so much. I’m going to give it a go!! Angela
That's great to hear, I am sure you can do it. Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment :)

LOVE your decorating style....not too much and not too little....just right!.....Happy Fall and God bless....
Thank you so much for such a nice comment :) I think over the years I have learned to only use the things that we enjoy and I am trying more to keep it simple and within budget. Your taking the time to leave a comment really keeps me motivated and we truly appreciate it. Thanks again and we hope you have a wonderful Fall!
Your updated laundry room/pantry looks GREAT......especially since you and your hubby did it all yourselves......a job WELL-DONE!
Hi I just happen to be on here when your comment popped up. I wanted to thank you for it, and for watching :) . As we get older we are finding it is taking a little longer to get our projects done but still very much enjoy doing them togerther. thanks again for taking the time to leave a nice comment and I hope you are having a lovely fall :)
Beautiful
Thank you, it is always fun to go on the hunt at thrift stores but the decorating part is a bit of work lol.
That so funny about putting a mirror behing the sofa, I just removed one thinking I would find something to replace it just for a change LOL. Now I wish I would had just left it because your right it did feel the space well.
A mirror behind your coach would be awesome
These are so cute!
Thank you, I was seeing the cutest scarecrows in the stores so I thought I would give it a shot and diy my own LOL. Thank you so much for watching my little video and leaving a nice comment :)
I just subscribed to your channel. I'm always looking for budget friendly ideas, thank you for sharing. I will be trying this out.
Awww thank you, we love this soap. Since my husband is so sensitive to a LOT of softners my granddaughter told me about this soap and she tried it for washing detergent and like it so I figured I would try it as a softner. Thank you so much for subcribing and I hope I can give you some more ideas :)
Your home is lovely and I love the way you decorated for fall. TFS!
Thank you so much for leaving such a nice commen :) . I hope you are having a wonderful fall it still is a bit warm here but much cooler in the mornings and evenings. Thanks again and thanks for watching.
Thanks a lot, gave me some new ideas on how to repair my door. Greetings from Germany.
Thank you, it is the reason why I posted it thinking maybe it would help others out so it's really nice hearing that it gave you some ideas. Wow all the way from Germany, it is so nice to know how so many of us can connect through social media. My wife's grandfather migrated here from Germany, thanks again for leaving a comment and for watching our little video.
I love how you have decorated your home for Autumn - it is so cosy and inviting. I try to decorate for the seasons, but it is a lot of work, and I tend to make many changes before I am happy with it. The older I get, the longer it seems to take. To be honest, I am not a fan of pumpkins (as food), and here in the UK, they are mainly used for Halloween decorating, however, I really enjoy flavoured breads and I do have a machine. Are you considering adding more recipes to future videos?
Oh it is for sure WORK, I can't get it done in a day. I worked off and on for about 10 days on it, it was so much easier when I was younger lol. I also move things around too and sometimes more than once. Your idea about adding bread machine recipes sounds like a good idea, I might have to try that. We are getting ready to go on a little fall trip, hoping to see some fall colores up in the mountains. I am hoping to do a little video on it and I love using my bread machine so much I bought one to keep in our 5th wheel LOL. Maybe I can add one to it, I will have to see how it goes. Thank you so much for your kind coment and for watching my little video. :)
Your home always looks so nice!
Thank you, you always leave such nice comments :). I truly appropriate it, it keeps me motivated to continue decorating for the seasons. Man it takes me a lot longer now that I am older LOL. Wishing you a beautiful Fall, thanks again :)
You really have a gift for decorating!
Well I try LOL, behind the scenes there is a lot of redo's lol. Keeps me moving, and I am not young so it's one way of getting a work out 😁. Thanks for stopping by and watching and for your nice comment.
Luv it! Super cute 🥰
Enjoyed the video. Everything looks beautiful. The bread looks delicious 😋.
Thank you for leaving such a nice comment and the bread is really good, I love using my bread machine it makes clean up so much easier which is a big bonus LOL
So cute all lit up at night👍🏻🎃
Thank you for taking time to watch and for your nice comment :). Boy sometimes when I start to decorate for the new season it feels like quite the work LOL . Thanks again!
Your home looks lovely for fall👍🏻🎃🍂🍁
I love the color of your quartz countertop. What is the name please?
Thank you, I cannot remember the name :( . I ask Ed and he can't remember either. I bought it from The Home Depot, I even went on their web site hoping I could find it. I will try to see if I still have the contract and if I do I am sure it will have the color and I will post it here. Thanks again :)
Those are absolutely the cutest ever👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎃
Thank you so much for such a nice complement, i have really been loving the scarecrows this year. I thought I would just try to make a couple and kinda wing it LOL. Again thank you for leaving a comment and for watching :)
Your home is lovely👍🏻🍁🍂beautifully decorated
Thank you so much, I love the fall season and my husband and I love to go places that have beautiful fall colors and crisp cool weather. Here where we live it stays pretty warm until we get into November. Again thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to leave a comment :)
Debbie, I just love the scarecrows great job
Great video, can i do this with a pocket sprung, memory foam matress combined please?
I would think you can, mine had each coil spring in what they call a pocket, I also had to cut some of the memory foam back. I really didn't know exactly what mine was going to be like until I opened it up but figured they are all pretty much the same. I hope this helps you out.
Thanks@@idratherbecamping6298 Yeah, i've just looked again and the one i've bought has springs in pockets like you say. It's about 4" too long for my campwervan and i might just try and compress it into the space. If that doesn't work, i'll attempt what you did, thanks.
Your sound is awful
Sorry we don't have anything fancy, we used what we had :)
Nice rustic trio of bird habitats. However, birds do NOT require a perch. Predators, however, do. Additionally, one of the sides or the back should be attached with screws (no glue) in order to facilitate annual cleanout.. Also, there should be drainage holes in the bottom for drainage. Inconspicuous holes drilled under the roof eaves will allow for ventilation. Great family project and teaching opportunity!
Oh no birds use it, we just made it for decoration. We have a area were there is like antique benches and wheelbarrow and other things that we made out of old fence boards. Thank you for watching and if we ever do make one for birds to actually use I will use your tips. Thanks again and have a great day :)
We have a rental house and the tenant cut a hole in the back door for a dog door. Its side by side with another matching entrance door. Such a shame as its an solid wood door. This has given me some ideas on how to repair it - thanks. Neither side is a flat surface so I'll need to get creative!
Wow I guess some people don;t think anything of damaging someone else's property. I am happy to hear that maybe you can at least get some idea's from the video on how to go about fixing it. Good luck and thanks for watching! :)
@@idratherbecamping6298 I fixed the door. It came up really well. Thanks again!😊
That's good to hear, thank for the update!@@TazErrant
Great idea! We just purchased a home and previous owners had ruined two beautiful wooden doors by putting either a cat door or doggie door and two of them in which I don't think this method would work. But you did a fantastic job on that particular door that you finished. I've been trying to find ways to fix it without having to replace the door. They're heavy but beautiful doors that have very pretty wood. It's such a shame.
Yes this small doggie door was there when we bought this home, we left it for awhile because my daughter was living with us who had a cat. When she moved out it was just a eye sore because it didn't serve any purpose anymore. I sure hope you can find away to save those doors, maybe keep searching RUclips or Google. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment :) .
