DTG Printing NO PRE-TREATING REQUIRED Hanes 498PT Review
Просмотров 7146 месяцев назад
Yo. I decided to give the Hanes 498PT a try. I print with a couple of Ricoh Ri-1000 printers. It would be so nice to not have to pre-treat any shirts. This Hanes shirt is ALREADY pre-treated so no pre-treating is required to print on it. Lets see if it's any good... #dtgprinter #dtgprinting #shirts #review

How DTG Printing Works And Is It Good For Your T Shirt Business
DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!!!!!!!
Hi ,I just inherited the Ricoh 1000 like yours ,is it possible that you would be willing to help me with that maintenance you spoke of in your video .the machine has been sitting with the previous owner so I know I will need to do that maintenance.the last owner isn’t available to assist me in that info due to life changes .
Yes we definitely need maintenance video .
Quick question , If there is not enough pretreat on a t-shirt will it be more gray if you try just to print in white on a black T-shirt ?
Yeah the ink just doesn't adhere very well to the garment. It can look more spotty and definitely less vibrant.
Out of all the videos on the net about printing 18000 and 18500 you're the most helpful! You've helped me a LOT especially the trick about drying on lower temp thank you!! I am drying in 30 sec intervals which also helps me control the color fading better thanks!!
Question for you. What program are you doing your rip in? I’m using anarip and I feel like I may not be getting the most out of my print settings. Do you feel like the prints are losing some vibrancy after the heatpress? I get pretty bright prints but once I press them both the white and the colors are definitely less vibrant.
Yeah with any rip software, to my knowledge, you will experience a loss of vibrancy after you heat press them. I'm using Anarip. The colorgate prints actually came out quite a bit more dull for me. Anarip is a better choice for the DTG prints in my opinion.
Are you just booting up and using preset settings? Or have you fine tuned it at all? If so mind doing a short on your print settings? I’ve had a little luck with using the saturation color blend to get more vibrant colors that hold up slightly better after press. For the white settings Ive been switching back between content aware white and full white under base. But with the content aware I feel like I’ve been adjusting up the values up for the colors and to try to get them brighter. I’m not sure if I’m just expecting too much out my prints, or is maybe I’m missing something lol.
Hrmmm. Let me check, I have had the settings set for a long time hah. Maybe I'll just make a quick video showing my settings.
Thanks for this video. Do they hold up well with DTG? What about using white/white underbase? I read a lot of bad results. What is your experience?
Hey man. I have printed a lot on comfort colors tees. The prints come out great. But, they don't last as long. They do wear out faster than when printing on other shirts. They also get a heat press box (even without pre-treat). I actually recently started doing DTF transfers on all of the comfort colors tees.
@@dtgboss-hu2ub Thank you very much for your reply!
Yes make a maintenance video to help
What heat press do you recommend
Honestly I would recommend the Heat Press Nation signature series slide out drawer, 16x20, be sure to get the bottom platen protector to use instead of the fabric one that comes with it. The fabric one works but will burn away shortly and will have to be thrown out.
Can you do a video for DTG newbie’s. Touching on software, best t-shirt brands, and the common mistakes
What if you rip the tag and resize it! I like how it not all big and boxy
It is a comfy shirt and I do like the style. A person could totally resize with pulling the tags and create a sizing chart for sure!
I’m still on hold for Ricoh support for my Ricoh L4100, I am picking up my Ricoh DTG machine on September 30th glade I saw your video
Hello, i have a brand new, never used ricoh ri1000 printer i need to sell w/ Ink, cleaning supplies, software. If anyone is interested, willing to negotiate price.

Your channel is amazing. I just subscribe good job. I've been looking for a DTG 🖨 printer, so hopefully, this it gives me proper information.
Hey thanks man I appreciate it! I been super slacking on content over the summer 😅
Can you please help me with add one more variant for youth also in same listing ?
Sorry bro I been away from YT for a bit. Still need some help?
Hey man i have a question, i have a Omni print dtg machine and ive ran into a problem; i am trying to print white ink on a black shirt, but the whites are not coming out as a bright , its more like a grey. I am using direct rip software , do you have any recommendations for settings to get the whites to be bright. Also the ink i am using is "white direct ink powered by Dupoint artistri"
Hey man sorry I haven't been checking my YT the past couple of months. Still need some help or you get things straightened out?
need the maintenance videos. i'm literally having magenta and yellow issues now that i can't figure out

What's the cost of RICOH Ri-1000 DTG ?
Are bella canvas shirts good enough for direct printing and just adding a heat press to it? I'm super new to DTG but looking to buy one
Bella Canvas overall are really good shirts for DTG. I have only had occasional issues with mostly the white shirts. The white shirts I get in the Next Level 3600. Also to note in the Bella Canvas, the Deep Heather color is NOT good for DTG. The ink doesn't adhere very well for some reason to Deep Heather. I also have problems with Olive. That color, for some reason, doesn't get along well with the heat press. those are the only colors I have really had issues with so far. I hope that helps!
@@dtgboss-hu2ub So helpful! Could I ask you something ? What is your experience printing DGT on Comfort Colors 1717? Thank you for your time.
Do you use the spray on your shirts or have pre treated shirts? Just curious
Hi there! I spray pre-treat on all of my tees. Unfortunately I haven't found any pre pre-treated tees that are the quality shirt I want in my shop.
Thank you for sharing your story. It is very inspiring. Hoping to start a set up like yours in the future.
One step at a time!
Thank you for this.
My pleasure! I hope it's helpful.
Thank you I was wondering what order to do it but u answered my question 👍
Glad to be of help man!
With your expertise, I’d like to ask how to get mine fired back up. I cleaned out my line and supposedly have the updated SD that was sent from Ricoma, but for some reason my display stays on the startup screen.
Oh man. I had that happen once. I had to replace the screen. It's not a cheap part either. When I called support we walked through trying everything but ended up having to replace that whole part. Fingers crossed that isn't what is going on. You would just need to talk to their support and see if they have an alternate fix. Best of luck with that man!
I get good results with Anarip also
Yeah man I really prefer the Anarip software over the Colorgate 😅
Just remember that the RI 1000 has four print heads compared to the other printers.
That is a good point that I did not consider!
So (4) ink heads at $2500?! How often do you have to replace the ink heads? What is the life of the printer and ink heads (rough number of prints)??
RTP is hands down the best that's out there in terms of print quality.
What is the second machine you use?
It's just another Ricoh Ri-1000
dude i own the ri 2000 and listening to you is like listening to myself lol. everything that you talked about happens to me. can we link some how?
Oh nice! How are you liking the 2000? Feel free to shoot me an email to Sales@HealthyMerch.com man
Looks really good, love the colors
Hey thanks!
I have a couple of questions concerning this machine
Ask away man.
Can you talk about how much you make a year selling shirts?
For sure man great video Idea. I'll get one in the pipeline.
Great video and I know people online have a love hate relationship with this machine lol. Would you buy one used? Can you do a manteince video also? Keep making content bro!
Hey thanks. Yeah for the most part I'm really happy with these printers. I'll get some maintenance videos in the pipeline! I would definitely buy one used. But, before I bought one, I would go inspect it and make sure it prints. I would check the condition of the printhead with a nozzle check and whatnot. But, I definitely keep my eye out for used ones!
it's always the low sub youtubers. thanks
For sure man I got you!
Why did ya skip the whole pricing section? Thats the part thats most confusing
looks super nice
😮 I need graph paper 😢 😂 thank you I burnt a shirt 😅
yeah bro gotta get that craft paper!
Anyways I appreciate the video. gives me some extra insights
I have a pearl PTM but the screen looks different. I wonder if it's an earlier or later version. I bought it two years ago
Hey man sorry for late reply lol. Um, yeah it could be. I bought mine in 2019 so they may have updated it...
@@dtgboss-hu2ubwhat’s the difference between this one and the elite one ?
Which wagner sprayer is that or does it not really matter which one? I noticed there were about 3-4 wagner sprayers that looked the same with different model numbers
This is the one I'm using here, www.walmart.com/ip/Wagner-0417005D-Control-Spray-Power-Stain-Sprayer/14895587?from=/search Hope that helps!
Have you tried this on Crew or hoodie?
Hey apologies for the late response. Yeah it works for basically any garment type.
@@dtgboss-hu2ub great news! Thanks
That is perfect for painting a fence or some crap. Invest in your business and produce the best. Just get a pretreatment machine!
I agree a pre-treat machine is the better way to go. But, if your pre-treat machine goes down, or you just flat out don't have the money for one at the time, then this is a good backup in the meantime.
Where di you get the wood board from?
Yo man I had it from some shelving I took apart. You could go to any local wood shop and purchase some. Even home depot or lowes. Don't need anything fancy. I would recommend something with a smooth surface and then to sand the edges a bit to keep from catching on the shirts.
How to create listing pics?
MOCK UPS. I JUST LEARNED THAT😊
Amazing video. I just purchased this but I am having trouble finding any baseline setting for density for shirts, hoodies etc. and suggestions where I could find this at
For baseline do you mean the amount of pre-treat to apply?
Yes
Question what pretreat did you just used in this video ?
Wow sorry I rarely check on here anymore! This is the FireBird Universal pre-treat.
It's all good thanks for the reply
Hi, how did you get your listing pictures to fill the boxes. I’ve used 2000 by 2000 ox and still it’s not filling up. Help please. Thanks for the very well detailed video.
Hey I'm so sorry for the insanely late response! Do you still need help with your pics?
Thank you for the video it was very insightful!
Hey man I'm glad it was helpful!
