I watch all your videos, and I'm impressed, really great videos. But I feel bad that this video has no views. If you want I can give you good advice on what to do with the view. How can I contact you?
Love that Paul Guy!
Is the correction in the video for Acetabular Retroversion?
Yes
1:25 I have that exact same thing going on right now it's new to me at first it was Sciatica and this time it came back with this I truly think it came from a machine that he therapists used on me for my Sciatica in 23
I had my PAO about 6 months ago and it was the best decision I’ve ever made :)
I had it too a year ago at 39 years old but my bone didn’t heal all the way. 😢
I have this in a bad hip. I broke when I was 15. I tore the tendons and I’m worried I have it in both hips because they both occasionally pop male so I will never give birth and I’ve never had kidney stones, but I don’t want that again oh the pain it hurt. But my hip should’ve been realigned at birth because of the hip dysplasia, but I think it was brought on cerebral palsy.
Just had my PAO Monday 🥺
how are you feeling now? Assume you're still on crutches
I’m doing great! My PT and doctor are aggressive in recovery. I started PT at week 2.5 when most people start at 6 weeks. I am a lot stronger and able to do more. I’m off of crutches. At week 6 I was able to full weight bear and was on 1 crutch for about 3 days. I’m able to do stairs and walk and drive normally. It’s been about 2 months. I’m in PT 3x a week.
@@danceskiriderhi ! I know it’s been 9 months since your comment. But how is your recovery so far ?
@@terencekwanytI’m back to birnal. Will be doing my other side Jan 9.
How did you find your doctor? I did get diagnosed with hip dysplasia but i don't think that doctor was a specialist. When I search PAO doctor I can't really find anyone near me.. Did you go to university hospital?
My 3 yrs old son have this 😢
sorry to hear. hope it all went well.
I had this procedure done a year ago and will be getting my screws removed soon. It is the best thing I could’ve done! I can walk without pain but I will warn others the recovery is BRUTAL.
I had it too a year ago at 39 years old but my bone didn’t heal all the way. How old are you? Do you smoke?
I just had this three weeks ago and I was honestly NOT prepared for (or forewarned) JUST how brutal this recovery was going to be. But watching this I’m like, oh, they essentially broke my pelvis. No wonder.
I might get it soon but in both hips, it’s going to suck!
Im getting it done in a little over a week, any tips or recommendations for preparing myself/recovery?
I had this procedure done on both sides!
How are you doing now? What was recovery like? Are you pain free?
Also, within the questions of Allie, when did you do it?
reaching out for a friend who needs this procedure. How are you doing?
@@alliecatarts i am doing great now! i am 24 i got them done in high school about a year apart from eachother. recovery was long and not easy. but we’ll worth it.
@@laurencolangelo2866 That's wonderful, I'm so happy you're doing well!! I ended up doing the PAO about 6 months ago. So far it's been great!
I wish this wasn't true, but these osteotomy surgeries ruin people's health and that of all the other people who have them done. The bone where they sawed afterwards doesn't stick properly anymore, it gets weak and it will slide little by little and sink inwards with time. I believe that a bone scar is left or for some other reason I don't know. Maybe it is left with little room to regenerate and becomes weak or another reason. It is not the same as a normal fracture where afterwards the bone becomes normal again. When you sawed it, or break it with a chisel, in this case it is different. The bone is left with a problem afterwards. Then the person gets all twisted because of this, as the bone sinks, it ends up twisting or sinks all the other bones of the body. If they do it in the lower limbs. But everywhere, it ends up disturbing people. Besides that, the nerves around where they do this also sink and leave their original place, and then the person starts to feel everything altered and only starts to feel bad things afterwards. Both in the external environment and in the body itself because of this. This surgery is a mistake in medicine, just as there are mistakes in any other profession. I don't know how it hasn't been forbidden until today, with so many people getting bad afterwards, I'm pretty sure all of them. It doesn't matter if it is done on the nose, leg, foot, heel, people end up getting bad the same way. I hope this comment helps. Take great care, health is very precious. After we lose it, our life becomes very difficult, and so does the life of the people around us, who end up being affected as well. A hug. ``
Did you have the surgery or know personally someone who had it? I am thinking about this procedure and it would be very important to me to know more facts that you base your opinion on.
Hi Asia, how are you? They did had a heel osteotomy and I had problems afterwards. Don't do that, otherwise the same thing could happen. It's better to opt for conservative treatments so that you don't run the risk of the same thing happes. A hug.
@@tiagot6516 hi Tiago, when did you had your surgery and didn’t it healed? I’m worrying about you. I also have hip dysplasia.. on both legs, unfortunately and my doctor just realized that one year ago when i was 18. I’ve had a lot of pain after my workout which i was going to make them even more hard intensity. Sadly i’m not allowed nor to run and jump anymore, neither other sports that includes them. So i just kept going with lifting weights which is my biggest passion since i’m 16. Everything was okay for six months or i thought it was all okay since i quited to run and jump. Unfortunately my hip dysplasias‘ pains started to affect my workouts either. So i’ve been pretty depressed and overly sad about the fact that i might quit weight lifting too. So i did a lot of researches about Pao Surgery and if you can do sports afterwards. Weirdly everything i’ve read was overly optimistic about post conditions. So i was thinking about getting it. Since you are telling the opposite which makes me doubt about it all, is there any other options that people need to do in your opinion? I really would like to talk about it all. Best Regards :(
Hi Eise, how are you? Tomorrow I'll tell you more things I discovered about this surgery, how I was able to undo it in my case once, what the tests detect, everything in this case. A hug.
Hi Eise, how are you? Sorry I didn't respond sooner, a few things happened and the week was kind of messed up. So when they did these osteotomy surgeries on my heels, I had the fixation screw that they had still used in the surgery. So I would go down squatting on the floor and I was forcing my heels forward in that position and he, the bone where they sawed would slide to the right place, out, and it was exactly in the place it was before the operation, the bone. In the same place as before. Hence, it was possible to undo this surgery at the time. But when they took the screws out, they couldn't do that anymore, and they're now sinking deeper and deeper in, little by little with time. I did several tests but they didn't detect anything, it just keeps showing that they had a surgery in place and there's a white streak in the place, but nothing more. X-ray, resonance, However, when you ask for a tomography only of the area where the surgery was performed, sometimes it detects something, but it is very difficult. Sometimes it shows that it gave osteopathy. Other than that, the biopsy also does not detect that the bone has become weak and keeps moving and sliding. It only shows whether the person has an infection or bone cancer. So I don't know what else to do. I force the heel with my strength even when I need to, either out or in, sometimes it gets better and sometimes it doesn't. I try to wear shoes that give me a little firmness in my foot to walk and I use a hammer to try to make the bone come back out a little, sometimes it relieves a little, but not always. Sometimes I put on that bandage I showed you in the other comment. I do not know what to do. I think I'll go back to the doctor to explain this and see if I can just open where they moved and then put bone in place with a thin layer of graft to see if it sticks or glues. If they sawed it in another place other than where they moved it, I don't want it and it won't do any good, apart from making me worse. I just want to be opened in the same place that was opened before. Even sawing I'm afraid and I don't risk it because they can saw in different areas that weren't where they moved and I get even more problem in the heel bone. In your case, as it is in the hip, I don't know what to advise you, try to find out for yourself what you feel can improve or improve a little. I really hope you are well. Do not give up ! . A hug.
Merry Christmas Renee! Hope you have a very happy prosperous new year!
How those residual bone edges cannot provoke any troubles?!
I'm going to have the operation for my hips in two months and I admit that it worries me too...
@@Celia13735 Which are your symptoms? Will your surgeon do this specific surgery procedure (PAO)? Who is he? And where does he work? I wish you all the best.
@@rikybologna3579 I have severe dysplaxia which creates pain, I can't dance, run, stand or sit for too long, I have a lot of trouble walking. I'm going to have the PAO surgery, one hip by one hip, a year between the two hips. I am French, my surgeon is called Monsieur Gedouin, he works in city call "Nantes" (2 hours of drive from my house). Thank you very much, and it is an operation which is heavy and with a long recovery but it is necessary and urgent (he tells me).
@@Celia13735 As first, no panic at all and be confident, your surgeon certainly knows what is the best for you. Just stated this, when did you start to suffer from this problem? Was your dysplasia present when you were born or did it develop during time? How your walking is affect exactly? I know France and Nantes, I come from Bologna (Italy), which is called the French city because our dialect is close to the French language (Napoleon's army remained here for many years during the XIX Century), thus I can read it even though I never studied it. I have had severe injuries along years (spine fracture, both wrists, a shoulder, etc.) and I have troubles with one of my hips too.
@@rikybologna3579 Yes he is a good surgeon for sure. Pain start 2 years ago. It’s already here when i was born but it’s can’t be detected on babies, so yes i was born with this Dysplasia several. I have big pain when i walk and I can’t walk more than 10-20 minutes or ( i don’t know the english words ) *ou je boite * and pain became more and more painfull. Maybe you know * la Bretagne , je suis bretonne * and proud of it , it’s close to Nantes (Bretagne it’s not a city ) I’m sorry to ear you have so much injury. In my opinion you should see some doctor, make some radiography, or scanner, for found the problem and if Someone told you « it’s on your mind , you have to live with » or if they see nothing try with other doctor . Honnestly I don’t know how it’s work in Italy, but in my country I havn’t to pay for radiography or scanner , but if you have to pay all I can understand you wouldn’t go to hospital. But don’t play with *la santé, surtout si tu es jeune * , if you wait to long you can have bad consequencies , be carefull and i hope you found something . Take care of yourself . Don’t know our patology and problem can be verry hard , i live that so i understand . N’abandonné pas !
OMG! best doctor ever. Dr Dutchenson performed my ACL transplant and meniscus repair and I would have to say my experience was amazing. The surgery took all of 45 minutes and the outcome was beyond my expectation. Firstly, there was absolutely zero pain. I was walking with. a brace and crutches right after surgery and allowed to take brace off two weeks after surgery. I never had any pain and almost unnoticeable scaring. In my opinion he has to be one the best surgeon's I have ever had. On top of that he is very personable and very confident in his abilities. Just the type of guy you want as a surgeon. I highly recommend.
Highly recommend Dr. Flierl. He did both of my knees and now I walk without any pain.
Did you do both knees at the same time or one-at-a-time? Thanks for sharing.
Truly a great surgeon!
