    • @stellarphysicalmedicine9322
      @stellarphysicalmedicine9322 5 месяцев назад

      Hi Elizabeth, I have treated many cases of trigger finger mostly with excellent results, but not 100%. I use acupuncture and most important is micro current stimulation. Sometimes injections may be helpful, sometimes a surgery is needed. Try acupuncture first as the risk is very low, results should become apparent in 3 weeks at 2 treatments per week. Regards, Dr. Wright

    Can acupuncture work for spinal estenosis on lower back

    • @stellarphysicalmedicine9322
      @stellarphysicalmedicine9322 8 месяцев назад

      Hi, Acupuncture cannot restore the disc space the is usually the cause of stenosis. It can reduce the pain and local inflammation, and relax the local muscles. This can be a major benefit in managing the pain without drugs. Give it about 6 treatment as an initial trial.

If Traditional Chinese medicine did not work it would not be practiced continuously for the past 2,500 years. This is now supported by thousands of peer reviewed studies.

      We've had it explained to us how ssri drugs help depression, but we find now they increase the rates of suicide. Case of the double blind leading the blind...I've treated many ex-sceptics with acupuncture. You should give it a trial...find a skilled practitioner a get a few treatments before you fry the therapy. I've practice for 35 years and it's efficacy never ceases to amaze me...and as a man of integrity I certainly wouldn't waste my life employing something that was fake. I originally (totally ignorant of it) received a treatment for a meniscus tear...very sore and swollen and immobile. Next morning the swelling had reduced by 75% with improved mobility and I had to work it to find pain- i was very impressed...so impressed it became a career choice. I am a man who sought for the truth [so help me God, hand on the bible]. The main problem is, the field is inhabited by many occult, magicians who claim the efficacy of needling medicine is due to their spiritualist connections or some esoteric concepts. There has always been two schools of thought in needling medicine..the scholars and the magicians.

This why hospitals all over America are now employing Licensed Acupuncturist, ones like Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, UC San Francisco, Kaiser Permanente, all veterans administration hospitals, Dept of Defense, I guessing you have heard of some of these, maybe? The only way something lasts thousands of years is because it works. How it works and what it works best on is a work in progress and that is the nature of science,it is always about discovery and refinement.

    First video I’ve seen on acupuncture that makes it easy to understand - thank you!! I get very bad migraines and am allergic to nsaids (ibuprofen/aspirin/Advil/etc) so all I can take is Tylenol (which rarely helps)and lie down in a dark room and wait for it to go away. Sometimes takes days. Ive done acupuncture twice now while having a migraine and it makes the migraine go away pretty quick. Definitely made me a believer & will continue doing it!

    I had to comment because acupuncture saved my life... I was going to a MD doctor for two decades and she couldn't figure out why my hands were numb and no strength. I went to acupuncture and she unlocked my hands and my mid back, lower back and legs . I felt like I completely got a new spine put in my body after treatment. her name is Natalie and she's the most wonderful acupuncturist in the world .. I'm so glad that I know her and I know about acupuncture no more vicodins for me and I fired my MD doctor.

    I’ve had acupuncture a few times and have appreciated the results I’ve gotten. I appreciate this educational video on how it works. I have to admit though that the witchcraft symbol on the board that he’s referring to is alarming as a Christian.

      HI Natalie, I heard that concern expressed by a patient many years ago. Since I am not familiar with the practice of witchcraft, I cannot comment on it's origin or use in that arena. However, for ancient Chinese medicine everything was about solving the health problems of the day. I have never seen anything in TCM that equates to witchcraft. I know acupuncturist who are also devout Christians. Thanks, Lloyd

    As much as I have read a book about this and seen many videos on the topic I have to wonder if its true because I could see at least three systems I identify with, and like something from every category I can relate to on some level. So it's almost like vague catch all stuff to me. Anybody have some real advice?

    • @stellarphysicalmedicine9322
      @stellarphysicalmedicine9322 3 года назад

      Hi Master Chief Sha, Yes, it can seem complex and there are an array of additional theories that go much deeper. Furthermore, over the past 2000 years nearly every culture has added to the original theories, so there is Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indian, French, German, and British adaptations of the theories. It took me about 3-5 years of being in practice and seeing results before I began to feel I understood anything. Much like learning to play a musical instrument practice makes perfect, in both cases a lot of practice. If you want to take a deeper dive the book "Staying Healthy with the Seasons" is a good practical start. Or consult with a well seasoned acupuncturist. Kind regards, Lloyd G Wright, LAc, DNBAO

    Is acupuncture bunk? Any actual proof it works for increasing general health?

    • @stellarphysicalmedicine9322
      @stellarphysicalmedicine9322 4 года назад

      Hi David, Acupuncture works extraordinarily well for a wide variety of health problems. there is plenty of scientific and clinical evidence to support this. Like all medical modalities and medicines it does not work for everything. Nothing works 100% in any medicine. In terms of general health, acupuncture can create a state of relaxation in which the body can better rest and heal. In terms of evidence, I doubt there are any studies that answer that question for any medicine. Studies are typically done to establish effectiveness of a specific treatment for a specific health problem. Hope that helps.

    is acupuncture good for low mood low energy? and how many times a week and for how long should each session last to recover?

    • @stellarphysicalmedicine9322
      @stellarphysicalmedicine9322 4 года назад

      Hi Elder Home Share, Acupuncture can be helpful for low energy and the resulting low moods that can occur. I always endeavor to differentiate if low energy/moods are caused by organ dysfunction or due to social or situational circumstances. If someone recently experienced a significant loss it is normal to grieve and feel depressed. Sometimes psychological based depressed can trace back to earlier issues in life. These types of depression really need to be addressed through counseling and self insight. Organ based dysfunction can be the result of a number of factors the can be helped through acupuncture, herbal medicine, proper diet, and proper exercise. All of these factors are important. In terms of acupuncture treatment every case is different but I typically see patients twice weekly for 2-4 weeks and reduce the frequency as symptoms get better. 99% of the time I recommend herbs and proper diet as well. Hope that helps.

    I have a first treatment yesterday of acupuncture, but I don feel any relief on the neck pain, how many times I need to go?

    • @stellarphysicalmedicine9322
      @stellarphysicalmedicine9322 5 лет назад

      Hi Morcy, Neck pain can have many causes. Getting the body to heal underlying damage is ultimately what acupuncture should be focused on accomplishing. So the question is,why do you have neck pain? If it is a simple acute muscle strain, relief will occur quickly and the treatment program will be short, maybe 2-6 treatments. If the injury is severe such as a whiplash with a lot of strain of both ligaments and muscle the treatment program will be longer, perhaps 2-3 times per week for 2-4 weeks and a reduction of frequency after that. If it is a chronic problem such as arthritis, degenerative disc, or disc protrusion the treatment will need to be long and use other modalities such as chiropractic or PT along side. Nearly all of my patients will get some pain relief the first treatment, but not every time. It is reasonable to give it 4-6 treatments and see the results. Treatment should be at least twice per week maybe three times. Going once a week is useless for the biginning stage.

      Hi Cindy, That was one of my first questions when I got to TCM college. In TCM, the brain falls under the category of Kidney & Bladder. The explanation would require more space and time then we have on this site. It is however, an interesting discussion.
