Well played, but I really miss the wonderful bass lines, which Bolcom had on his original recording of these. The steely sound of the Steinway really is not enhancing the romantic setting of these super tunes.

Is this is the ragtime style? Not that I'm that familiar with it, but it seems to have that old-time popular feel.

That was simply delightful. It is disarmingly difficult and the manner and character of the pianist was perfect. I would love to hear more from Daniel Berman especially this type of lyrical genre. RG

Beautiful performances! I learned Graceful Ghost years ago and I've played through Dream Shadows a few times. I didn't know how beautiful it was until now. Guess I'm going to have to learn it. Graceful Ghost is easy by comparison. I've never had the sheet music to Poltergeist but it sounds like it is the most difficult of the three. Thanks for providing this video. I hope that these rags remain in the piano repertoire because they deserve to be remembered and performed.
