It is interesting upon reflection to see that when magneto is using his powers, even though he doesn't have to hold his hand out, he does. It's... Symbolic to me. When one is angry or projecting force, it is with a fist most of the time, closed and straight. Not magneto though, his hands are open and spread, almost like he's trying to shield himself/others, a rejection of the force coming his way, and what happens when he doesn't do this? He hurt Charles by accident. He just... Carries his power like one who sees the danger he poses. Wether with bullets, or buildings.
