Its a cool quick idea but cant really use the crane for more than 100 lbs at extension and swing without bending your receiver hitch. now make a little udpdate on the video giving it some "outriggers" to take the load off of your truck and youve got a great setup! Keep the ideas comin!

Look at HowNot2 climbing + pull testing channel for ideas on how much strength you lose for the tighter bend but I recon splicing the Dyneema direct to the hook (or a more suitable hook) is better than any extra parts or sleeves etc

All show and no go my friend, I would not put that in truck for emergencies.I use Wright USA You don’t need to get snap on either. But gear-wrench might be a good middle of the road. Or Tekton, maybe channel lock, then even I would put Milwaukee hand tools in the same maybe a little above icon.

Now I know where mine came from. An elderly subscriber gave me one he had that he never used. It was painted yellow and orange. I made a 3 point hitch mount for mine and it works great. I used it to pick up a complete 6.8L V-10 engine and put it in the back of my truck so I could scrap it. Only upgrade I did was to replace the rusty cable with a larger diameter one from another crane I have.

I bought mine from Princess Auto in Winnipeg but it didn't have the winch cable just a bottle jack and I mounted it's on the back driver side corner how does my Chevy 8-foot box.. if anybody wants to do that make sure you put a couple of big pieces of angle iron underneath the Box .. I'm able to lift a big block Chevy engine with it.. mine when it's folded down is just under the box Edge when it is folded in

The suction cup mounting was a turnoff for me, I ended up getting the swivel vise with the two jaws and clamping mount instead. If i were to get this one id probaby try to make some mounting holes in it for bolts or just ratchet strap it down or something 😂
