Refoam is sloppy, surround should be attached to the back of the cone.
Currently refurbishing a set. I just bought a new house and much to my surprise the previous owners left a pair of these in the garage… subwoofer foam was disintegrating but I hooked them up today to my Nakamichi AV-8 to test them. New 15’s are enroute but they’re still functional. Refitting them with a pair of Goldwood 15” HD 8ohm woofers rated at 550 watts each. Should be a solid upgrade. My old Nakamichi just pounded them. 120 watts per channel.
That many miles, interior looks factory perfect, and the guys in a snowy climate. Great find right here^^^
My ears hurt. Rubbish.
You should have your ears cleaned.
Excellent. Whats going on with the Sonys above the fireplace? I get the ES line. But whats the story with the others?
Finally someone with a taste for good music. Why some folks have great speakers to listen to horrible music? No sense in that.
I know they are not high end speakers but I like them, they can handle a lot of power
That’s a nice 60s horn
Those surrounds are supposed to be installed on the back side of the cones
Are those upside down garbage cans under those speakers?
lol
I would absolutely love a like new 12 Valve. Dreams
I own some Mach Ones. Yes the ones with the foam surrounds that never rot, and a pair of Mach 2's. Mainly I own them because of nostalgia because my Klipsch Chorus blow them out of the water sound quality wise.
My uncle got them in japan
I have the same covers
Are they stock in this video? Sound pretty nice, even on youtube.
I have a pair and never used them as main speakers but surround rears.. I ab them now
Yes, they are stock as rock. Thanks. Brian

the Mach 2 and Mach 3 are the most underrated speakers on the market do to the fact they came from Radio Shack what most people didn't know back then and most still don't know now is that the mach 2 and 3 were designed and made by Altec Lansing for the Tandy Corporation if any of who are reading this owns either speaker change all the caps on the crossovers to poly caps and let the magic begin you will not believe your ears Now to test the integrity and sound quality of any speaker this is the track to do it with ruclips.net/video/4Sgz-UQfJKc/видео.html to fully enjoy your setup these are the 3 album's to do that with ruclips.net/video/_4tJ2iQPkY4/видео.html ruclips.net/video/KTnVr1K3kjM/видео.html ruclips.net/video/OJHSL6-rYCU/видео.html sit back and enjoy the ride
i just bought a pair for $200. as nice as yours , i really got them for the cabinet for a retro look for my home theater. i am very pleased to know that i had gotten a good deal
How inch are the wofers
Wonderful! They are a BIG bundle of joy in a small package. I adore my pair of Advent 3's!
Sounds good!
Where are y'all located
I own a pair of these my mother bought in 1976-77. She passed in 2020, I have yet to hook them up to an amp, I don't think they have been used in 40 years.
Consumer-grade quality sound, once you experience true Class A sound, you’ll scrap your entire system, once you decide to get serious with audio.
What do you think is class A sound? You cannot tell any quality sound on youtube
Look I understand class A sound etc, again you really want the 300b for that glorious midrange. But audio has come a long way. Look at all the little guitar amp/speakers that run on batteries and use class d amps. And they have selectable distortion profiles. Look at all the software that can emulate drum kits, pianos etc not only that, it can emulate different sounds like Yamaha, Roland etc. DSP with class d is the way of the future now, it’s not long before you will have selectable sound profiles built into amps. You would be able to switch between Class A sound, different tube sounds etc. A lot of the class D amps are still lacking in the midrange quality but they are scarily close. Designers do not have to design circuits now, they just build it all into DSP chip and off you go.
@@drianhodgsonYes you can very well tell SQ on RUclips. Use a good pair of headphones. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t be able to? You can clearly hear the room, the speakers, the sound as it sounds in the particular environment. How does RUclips detract from that I have no idea? The sound is the same as recorded, some use high quality microphones and some use just their phone but I’ve heard really good recordings just recorded on a mobile phone too.
I got a pair of them speakers at my neighbor's in storage that's funny
I had a pair of these 35 years ago.
Wish I could have a truck like that
You could if you have rich parents…. You can thank rich kids for making the prices get way out of hand just like the Toyota Supra
@@russrtspooling7702there’s old guys out there with trucks like this that will sell them for cheap, got mine it’s a 94 12 valve manual 103k miles 1 owner 12k
1 have the same from 1995 👍
The truck does not get chicks
Oh I bet it would
Sounds good
Woofer is not original of Jensen model 3 isn't it?
Probably the best sounding speaker demo I've heard on RUclips. Detail, dynamics, sound stage.... just sublime :)))
I'm reconing a pair of model 4's
How did it go? Ive got a pair that needs refoaming surrounds
Those tweeters make instruments and voices really suck you in
Yes!
Tengo unos parecidos a esos, me encantan
What group is that they sound good through my Von Schweikert VR-4 Generation 2s .
It's called a test record. I've had the album for 40 years. It was a high quality lp of the day. Lol it would be the same 4k today. The actual name of the record is "Depth of image" opus 3, test record 1. Thanks. Brian
love em'..just picked some up at a local record store and they sound great....
Music sucks ass.... These MACHS weren't designed for this crap.. Plug in some CRUE or AC/DC or KISS. Then you'll know what designers wanted
I remember playing this theme on my DQ-8s and 12's.......just awesome. Dahlquist did justice to any big band sound.
Smart investment you made with the subwoofer. I did the same thing.
Fuck y’all, this truck wants to be driven
35 miles and someone already changed the mirrors.
No. Stock as a rock. Early Canadian trucks got these mirrors.
Beautiful but the exhaust isn't right, mine is a single pipe. And the Chevy emblem on the steering wheel isn't on mine. Beautiful truck.
Phenomenal speakers, they are one of the best vintage speakers you will find. Very misunderstood because of the big woofers as they were built for sensitivity and fidelity rather than thumping bass. Great design and sound.
𝐩яⓞ𝓂𝓞Ş𝐦
The song perfectly fits this car.
i like the large edge of the woofer basket 2:05 That imho allows for a better mechanical coupling with the front baffle In this way the woofer and the front baffle become one piece Lately i have become obsessed by the front baffle design and construction of course of the cabinet containing the woofer The frequencies above let's say 200 Hz are muche less energetic ... Great speaker indeed Anyway i have a regret ... i wonder how the dq10 drivers and xover would have sounded in an arrangement like the dq20 that i find much nicer indeed I am very curious and i have a DIY project in this sense
Shucks, purchased 3 pairs of these from Ebay last year. These speakers have now enhanced the sound of all three of my vintage Denon systems. Can't go wrong with classic vintage Advents.
Brand new truck with out the original mirrors 🤦🏻♂️
Yes, How interesting. This is a Canadian truck and some of the earlier built trucks in Canada used these mirrors.
Very good speakers. Shucks purchased 3 pairs from Ebay last year. My financee closest social friends always chooses her Brooklyn apartment to gather because of the fulfilling sound of her music coming from these speakers! Her and her friends always compliment me enhancing her (low/mid) vintage hifi system. Can't go wrong with any vintage classic Advents.
The kenwoods look similar to my JVC SK 12’s Btw I have Neil’s album too
NOTHING compares....Mach2 forever...
