Yeah but from different perspectives, it's got a lot of good stuff. It has a lot of themes and messages that people can connect with and resonate with, and even things that can change people. I remember watching the show years ago and the View From Halfway Down poem had stopped me from attempting su*cide. Then as I was loosing a lot of my relationships from my own actions, seeing this terrible scumbag of a main character actually grow up and be better in the end after endlessly going through shitty cycles his whole life, as I was, had really changed how I saw things in life. As it's referenced a lot in the show, it felt like constantly thrashing and sinking while drowning, but as I've been getting better, it feels like it's getting easier, like learning to swim. It was and is an integral part of the catalyst in my mind that pushes me to be a better person today and to try and get my life together, it's a positive motivator, I don't have fear from it, it gave me introspection to see how his actions affect his life and how I can take control of mine, starting with my actions. I'm not here to say your opinion is wrong or to try to disprove or anything, I just wanted to share my perspective, changing your point of view, even temporarily, can make big changes with everything in your life, and it can make alot of positive ones.

I know it doesn't make sense but he's *not* saying that Bojack is intrinsically bad and that he can't change. What's going on is Bojack kept hurting people and himself and blaming it all on what happened to him to try to justify his behavior. It's ok to give someone empathy and room and time for change when they had been through rough times, cause it can be hard to change when u had been through hardship, but Bojack just wanted to use it to excuse all of his harmful actions and continue to do terrible things. That's why Todd says this. What Todd means by this is that he needs to stop pushing away his responsibility to be better. He needs to accept that for everyone else, his actions are who he is, and he can either choose to keep being that bad person making those bad decisions or that because he is his actions, he can choose to change who he is by making better decisions. I wanted to explain this cause rn from your point of view, it's not helpful, but from and to someone else, it is, and that's how. There is no universal shared point of view, some advice will motivate people and that same advice can hurt others who doesn't need it, everyone needs something different. But if you watch the show, you get to see through the point of view of the characters so you can understand it, or try to. (This isn't a blame thing or saying ur wrong, I just wanted to share how I see it)
