Dear Mam, while practicing the alaap of the raag, should we have the name of notes(like Sa, re ga , etc.) in our head or should we go with the flow. As sometimes after practicing raag , alaap comes automatically and I am unable to concentrate on the actual notes I am singing, Is this way of practicing right or wrong? Should i focus on each note that I am singing in alaap?
No you can simply do the alap in Aakar when you do your own improvisation. But also do practice the alaps and taans with notes to solidify recognizing each note and remembering its place on your voice domain.
