Bless you! I’ve done the same. Rescue the discards, rehab them & find the best possible forever homes for them. Last several years, I focus mainly on seniors. Unbelievable how many are dumped just b/c they’re older, so unwanted. Even families don’t take their long time loyal dogs when they downsize & kids leave the nest. Time for mom & dad to travel, so no more dog wanted!🤮 Others are discarded by adult kids when they put their parents in homes, not wanting to deal w/them, either. So, their loving dogs head to the nearest shelter after they promised to keep them for them. I intercept them before they hit the shelter, where they have little to no chance of adoption. They’re so lost w/o their homes of a decade or more, since they were puppies & wanted. And most have been ill trained, knowing their name, but not much else. Just tragic! But they know all the basics & manners by the time they leave me. Some, know more, like cool tricks to show off with.😁Yes, old dogs do learn. Quite well, overall. And bond just as well as a younger dog will. They all just want love & attention. And to be w/you.♥ And I check in on them. Even have dog sat for a couple. I groom too, so the messy ones get all spruced up nicely. So glad I can do my little part in changing a needy dogs life.🐾💙 Thank you for helping so many in need. They are very lucky to be in your care.

Wow! God be with & bless you for blessing these vulnerable dogs! 🐾♥ Living my dream. Always wanted to do a sanctuary. But years ago, things were very different than today. I just rescue 1 at a time. Can’t afford to do more. But I’ve gotten several deserving doggies wonderful forever homes, & even some cats...including feral & their kittens! The last several yrs, I’ve focused more on the seniors. No one wants them, but I prove to ppl they’re well worth wanting!💙🐾♥👍 Many blessings for continued strength & success in your wonderful endeavor.💜🐾
