    I’m 40 and I’m glad I left. I regret not leaving in my teens. Plus, Millennials are busy forced to work multiple jobs to barely make it. No one has time for nonsensical superstitions. That’s why we have zero sex and dating lives. So the idea that we are hedonistic sinners is bs. We don’t have time to be human.

    The twisting of scripture. Parents forcing us to go. Being around those who don't practice what they preach. Inconsistencies. Watching church leaders and members degrade their mother and seeing her fall apart as they shun her even though it was due to how THEY treated her. All the gossip. Treating women like their volunteer efforts aren't worthy of appreciation and there's always someone else to fill the position if you dare have another commitment or you call out someone being mean spirited towards you. Telling people to pray for everything instead of actively going out and DOING SOMETHING. The activities can be boring. The rate of youth group leaders that leave and then you're left with some new person you don't even know well when you were really happy with that last person. Hearing the little preteen girls obsessively talking about their boyfriend drama and wondering why at church you're listening to 12 year old girls talking about their boyfriends all the time. By actions it's all a farce. The words sound nice, those smiles are fake and the actions reveal hypocrisy. That outcast of the church that has a good heart you adults keep picking on, talking about, acting like the type that smiles to their face and bad mouth them? Yeah teens pick up on that and hear it too. The jealousy, contention and manipulative head games people play in churches? Yeah, teens hear that and see it too. Watching your parent feeling sad over being treated coldly while volunteering makes you wonder if that is how you want to be treated in the future. Baptist Churches are okay for under 18 but after you reach 18 and absorbing everything you see, hear and the dysfunction of it all it becomes obvious that you need to go to a better church (psst....just because a teen left your church doesn't mean they left all churches) or just stay home and pray instead. BTW, church is not even necessary. It's great if you like community but another thing about church that is bothersome is how if you make friends at a church and end up leaving, suddenly all your friends are no longer your friends because you left meaning your friends are apart of a building really. Your true friends would never stop talking to you because you left which leads to the final conclusion. If you meet friends in a church..they all smile at you but the moment you leave they shun you then what is the point of even trying to make friends because chances are you're going to step out of line at some point and if people are treated like they are "CHURCH PROPERTY" then where is the body of Christ in all this? It ends in sadness...not just for teens but even your parents.

    Growing numbers of teens are turning away from a belief system that tells them what to believe and what to think and threatens them with hell if they dare think for themselves.

    What would happen if you went into youth group and announced?: ''Guys I read Ephesians 2:8-9 and then read on to verse 10. Then I read James verse 2:22-26. We got it wrong the only place the bible says' by faith alone' is to say NOT by faith alone but by faith and works TOGETHER are we saved! . . . . . . The Catholics are right!!!!!

    Most of this seems to be presenting the idea that teens leave church because they aren't told over and over again or being lead to believe in christianity. If christianity is true, why isn't the evidence for it convencing enough that you don't need someone to be told over and over again to believe? It seems to me that the means to get people to believe is to tell people over and over again to believe and to use relationships and mentoring etc rather than basing it on the presentation of rational solid evidence. I suggest moving to basing your outreach on solid evidence. If you don't have objective evidence for what you believe in, then maybe look into why don't have it.

      @xuvial1391 7 лет назад

      Religions *can't* move to basing their reach on solid evidence, because there is no solid evidence. If there was, you wouldn't need faith. Religions all revolve around having faith.

    On the playing field of ideas, Christianity has competition like never before. Culture and the internet is showing us many other ways of seeing the universe that are in diametric opposition to mankind's religions. In this age of information and skepticism Christianity is no longer the dominant force it once was. It doesn't matter what theological approach is used, young people see religious claims as absurd and are just not buying into them anymore.

      Well what I think it is, people in this video are being pc and just saying schedule too tough, tired ,sleep in. That's not really what it is. Its medieval nature of the teachings they don't see its relevance today or really believe that perfect Divine unconditional love equals hellfire, and if you read, I mean truly read and get all the Old Testament is saying, whew! that will make folks wanna leave go agnostic, or switch to zen or some other spirituality.Doctrine says what you have to believe or else arghh! Spirituality though comes from within shows you what to know and truly feel. Movies like the SHack, music like Hillsong? that's folks advancing /evolving religion. That's how you do it, and keep folks.

    Lies of the church, here is 1 of them. The Trinity- Is it scriptural? All I ask is before you reply to me to read in your own bible the quoted scriptures. 1a Col 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, THE FIRST-BORN OF EVERY CREATURE. (Latin (krē′chər)Meaning of the word creature. 1b www.thefreedictionary.com/creature, One dependent on or subservient to another, Something created. 1c So why is Jesus called "the first-born of all creation, How can he be subservient to another if he is Almighty God. 2a, John 8:42 Jesus said to them: “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I have not come of my own initiative, but that One sent me. 2b Why did Jesus say he did not come of his "own initiative" but was "sent forth"? So he is saying here that he was asked to go. 3a Luke 4:43 But he said to them: “I must also declare the good news of the Kingdom of God to other cities, because for this I was sent”. So who sent Jesus to do the preaching? 3b All so who is the greater, the sender or the one sent and if so who sent him? 4a Matt 24:36. “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father”. 4b Why did Jesus not know "the day or the hour" of the Great Tribulation but only God did? 5a, Matt 6:9 “You must pray, then, this way:“‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. 5b Should he not have said “LET MY NAME BE SANCTIFIED”? 6a, John 17:1. Jesus spoke these things, and raising his eyes to heaven, he said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your son so that your son may glorify you. 6b Who did Jesus speak to in prayer? 7a, John 14:28. You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I am. 7b Why did Jesus say "the father is great than I am"? 8a Heb 9:24 For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with hands, which is a copy of the reality, but into heaven itself, so that he now appears before* God on our behalf. 8b How did Jesus "appear before the person of God for us?" 9a, Matt 3:17 Look! Also, a voice from the heavens said: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.” 9b Who spoke to Jesus at the time of his baptism, saying, "this is my son"? 10a, Phil 2:9,10 For this very reason, God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name, so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend-of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground. 10b How could Jesus be further exalted to a superior position? 11a 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus. 11b How can Jesus be the "mediator between God and man" if he is God? 12a 1 Cor 11:3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; in turn, the head of a woman is the man, in turn, the head of the Christ is God 12b Why did Paul say "the head of Christ is God"? 13a 1 Cor 15:24, 28 Next, the end, when he hands over the Kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power. But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the So himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone. 13b Why did Jesus "hand over the kingdom to his God" and how God subject himself to God? 14a John 20:17 Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.’ 14b Who does Jesus refer to as "my God"? 15a Prov. 8:22-31? The LORD produced me as the beginning of his way, The earliest of his achievements of long ago. From ancient times I was installed, From the start, from times earlier than the earth. When there were no deep waters, I was brought forth, When there were no springs overflowing with water. Before the mountains were set in place, Before the hills, I was brought forth, When he had not yet made the earth and its fields Or the first clods of earth’s soil. When he prepared the heavens, I was there; When he marked out the horizon on the surface of the waters. When he established the clouds above, When he founded the fountains of the deep, When he set a decree for the sea That its waters should not pass beyond his order, When he established the foundations of the earth, Then I was beside him as a master worker. I was the one he was especially fond of day by day; I rejoiced before him all the time 15b to whom does this say is refer too prophetically? 16a Psalms 110:1 THE LORD declared to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand Until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet. 16b How does Jesus sit at God's right hand? 17a John 1:18 No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is at the Father’s side is the one who has explained Him 17b Why does John say "no man has seen God at anytime"? 18a Luke 18:19 Jesus said to him: “Why do you call me good? Nobody is good except one, God 18b Why does he ask not to be called "good," saying "nobody is good except one, God"? 19a Dan 7:13, 14 “I kept watching in the visions of the night, and look! with the clouds of the heavens, someone like a son of man was coming; and he gained access to the Ancient of Days, and they brought him up close before that One. And to him there were given ruler ship, honor and a kingdom, that the peoples, nations, and language groups should all serve him. His ruler-ship is an everlasting ruler-ship that will not pass away, and his kingdom will not be destroyed. 19b Why does Daniel say "to him were GIVEN ruler-ship..."? 20a Ex. 33:20 But he added: “You cannot see my face, for no man can see me and live.” 20b Why did people not die when they saw Jesus? 21a Acts 2:24 But God resurrected him by releasing him from the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held fast by it. 21b How was Jesus dead and God alive at the same time? 22a Heb 5:7 During his life on earth, Christ offered up supplications and also petitions, with strong outcries and tears, to the One who was able to save him out of death, and he was favourably heard for his godly fear. 22b Who was able to save Almighty God? Why did Jesus need someone to save him? 23a Revelation 1:1 A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him. 23b So who gave Jesus the revelation? 24a, Revelation 3:14 “To the angel of the congregation in La·o·di·ceʹa write: These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, THE BEGINNING OF THE CREATION BY GOD. 24b, Jesus himself is saying here that he was created. 25a, Mark 9:7. And a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud: “This is my Son, the beloved. Listen to him. 25b,Should that be listen to me not him? 26a, Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 26b, James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God CANNOT BE TEMPTED WITH EVIL, neither tempteth he any man: 26c,James (Who was one of the Lords brothers and disciple) says God can not be tempted. Yet Matthew says he was tempted, This makes no sense. 27a, Act's 7:55,56 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. 27bHow could Jesus stand at God's right hand if he was God, also there is no mention of the Holy Ghost, why is that? 28, Acts 10:38. about Jesus who was from Nazareth, how God anointed him with holy spirit and power, and he went through the land doing good and healing all those oppressed by the Devil. because God was with him. We must be like the Berean Christians. Acts 17:11. And the people of Berean were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul's message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth. The answer is simple. Jesus is not God but his beloved only begotten son and the Holy Spirit is Gods powerful active force.
