Thanks for this on my 1st play through I did the quest line well. He never was hostile. I was so confused on my second play through why he kept attacking me. This was helpful

I was wondering why people say that this boss have a phase where you deal double damage to him. Tried a lot of times and he dies before this phase ever appeared. Turned out you have to destroy those things in the center, on which I never have stamina, even in trial where they gave me Nahida, she just died, lol. For me it's just the boss where I need to spend 1 cooked chicken to resurrect 1 character.

legit such a PoS boss. But I guess the trick is counter him with the thrust smash when his flying towards you.
