I stayed upright, I tested out my chest rig which worked well for normal terrain until the camera moved, he had to figure out how to lay down on big boulders.

Earlier in the week did one where the weather was too hot/humid so this was a nice straightforward trail. I started him wrong and worked on sticking the indication.

Loved the flip to find the correct direction and loved the final intersection discrimination with (likely) scent cone. Working on sticking the indication longer.

Not sure if it was scent or memory where he took me. It could be either; where he took me was a better holder of scent. But he did have clear negatives.

He had trouble working out the scent cone but once he found the exit he did well. There was a dog on the bridge so that disrupted his forward movement initially so I needed to be a good team mate and put the pieces together (wanting to cross water no more scent beyond bridge = try seeing if across the bridge works).

First trail with a stranger in a long time - thanks Chad! Aged an hour, 82 degrees with humidity both definitely affected him. Especially in the heat I need to take a bit more of an active role to not let him go back to areas he has shown negatives.

The birds didn't distract him but his find was less direct than I'd have like. Final indication work coming along nicely.

He and I struggled to work in the heat for some home walk offs this week in North Dakota. This trail was short with an intersection crossing with the wind not in his favor. I tried to let him work it out and he might have but I used my teamwork talents to ask him to check each corner of the intersection and... he took over when in the scent pool!

Boozie and I experienced a hot day after quite mild weather and he was unconditioned and not super motivated to trail in the heat. His trailing work was decent but not awesome so it was initially tricky to read his body language; my trail layer laid a trail (sort of blind, that is knowing it would be fairly short and end in the park) but got tired of waiting and unbeknownst to me, left. Similar trail as prior day to help dog and I with intersection practice. Got at running group fresh crosstrack bonus. Still short aged which contributed to circling but more nose down. On playback I am getting better at seeing decision points in sufficient advance time. Working to do this better in real time.
