15:29 I can somewhat relate to that. I find it less fun at some point, but after a while I find it fun to look for ways to clear stuff faster, just so I can play more games. Just like how you waste your time finding ways to juggle mobs in training better, I and many others look for ways to clear stuff faster. There's no stylish points, but you are still on a timer at the end of the day.

You are absolutely correct about why people seem to bounce off of combo-tech in this game. But honestly... this is a tale as old as time. People just don't like combos. It's why fighting games are niche, and it's why games like Devil May Cry get decried as having "pointless combat" Look no further than FFXVI, which is one of the coolest stylish action games out there now. Yet people hate it because "juggling is pointless, and it's all cooldowns" despite some of the combos people are out there doing are literally insane. People like their combat simplistic. The Souls series is by most audiences out there has "the perfect combat" despite it having some of the most simplistic combat in video games. Wonderful 101 was immediately compared to PIKMIN! When that game has an extremely deep combo system (Kamiya did make it after all). It's just a fact at this point that people will always want to trash any game that has any amount of creativity to its combat, because innately creativity is HARD. It's hard to draw, it's hard to play an instrument, and it's hard to write stories. People have become very complacent with "easy mode" in life and entertainment. They are less impressed by the things humans are capable of doing, treat everything as more and more of a product lol! The gacha elements definitely exacerbate this issue... but it's just a fact that I see this kind of complaint on every stylish action game. You can literally go through DMCV and hardly ever use a fraction of the tools they give you... and "beat the game" but people who play these games beyond their campaign realize that they are a combat sandbox. Which is what they should be called imo. Instead of this "character-action game" nonsense that people go on about. Anyways, another banger from HC. Keep on spreading the good word about the depth in this game, cause it does have it.

I'm going to wait until his Rerun, to get him because I don't play enough (I'm an actual filthy casual) and because I REALLY want Miyabi. Now as much as I love my boxers/brawlers, I'm also not feeling too guilty because his best gameplay loop prevents him from being a main, which to me is criminal given his awesome animations and tricks as you point out.

I loved Anby and Nicole because they had these "secret" techs and I was sad that nee characters were pretty straightforward, it's awesome to see Lighter going full fighting game character mode

I didn't even lab to gain this playstyle, I just found out about it while playing him for a few days since I got the game. Just came naturally. Super satisfying, very effective. Can't see why people think he's Tier 4 when he's easily one of my best people.

I really wanted him more than Miyabi and right now I know it isnt the best but I play him alongside Jane and Burnice and imo. Feels GOOD so they've become my go-to team.

She actually works wonder for a monk shock yanagi. Since theres no off element to trigger extra disorders, its very beneficial to have a shock stun agent as she gives yanagi and window for a mssive dmg amp. Hell her and nicole make a very good starter yanagi team, especially if anby/nicole are m6/s5. Mine arent even well built, and are essentially ex special swap bots, but damn do they work.

I would've skipped for Astra Yao after pulling Yanagi but then I realized how great he was in both the story and his unit, and I'm glad I won his 50/50 because he absolutely fantastic

I don't want to skip him. I really like the way he played during the story. However, Ellen's wengine is calling and I need it(for her) and Jane(in general).

I’m just happy that they finally released a dude. I’ve been waiting for his release for so long😩❤️ Miyabi on the other hand doesn’t interest me at all. All I see are a pair of overly sized knockers. They look kinda gross ngl. Way too much jiggle physics on them. Just not for me👍

Ignore the meta. Build him for atk, crit dmg + rate. He's a better on-field than S11 with his signature 🤑

I play DPS lighter because hes my favourite character. Hes too pretty to keep off field and I love hearing his voicelines

If there's one very good thing I learned about Lighter is that he makes Nuke Lucy very, very VERY satisfying. I'm more than happy to have him on field, quickly switch to Lucy for an EX/Ult Nuke, then switch back for a rocket punch right as the flaming pig meteor comes crashing down. Absolutely *chef kiss*

I pulled for him just because he reminded me of Kiryu & Jotaro

It just Ligther having Yoimiya/Wrio treatment, first Yoimiya released before Archon Raiden second Wrio released after Hydro Dragon and before Archon Furina and Ligther released before The Void Hunter who can be say have the same energy as Archon-Emanator

I wasn’t going to pull lighter (& engine), until the fact i got M2 Soldier 11, Soldier 11 signature engine & (most importantly) I love soldier 11. It was fun

I’m kind of obligated to get him because despite being level 51 with well over 100 hours into the game, my only stun is Anby. And apparently I’m not allowed to get any other stun characters because earlier today, I was trying to get to pity with Lighter, and I ended up getting M1 for Grace. Other than the NECF I just bought, I’m F2P, I don’t wanna have to spend any money on this game.
