    I saw an interview with her many years ago that Allowed a different perspective and I became an instant fan. Have to say that she just gets better and In my estimation, she's the coolest woman! Love her humor! A while back, I saw Justine Bateman at a fundraiser where I heard an interview that she was giving. When she was done, I politely walked over and thanked her for enlightening me on some issues of which I was unaware. And then I turned to leave so as not to bother her. She wanted to know more and She then thanked me for Basically paying attention! LoL I will always remember how very engaged she was in the conversation and She was very sweet and As I left the building I felt a sense of elation. I became a huge fan right then and there.... That admiration continues. Thank you Moon Unit Zappa & Justine Bateman!

      Music is subjective, and that's just your opinion. I don't doubt, in fact, that you would be able to find a whole bunch of other people who would agree with you. But it's pretty well-established that those with a music background, including composers and music professors and scholars and just plain music fans apply the "genius" label to Frank's abilities and creative compositions. I, for one, am also in that latter grouping. His music is phenomenal to my ears! 😃

    As much as I love to listen to Frank's music, it's pretty clear from not only Moon's account but many others that he was a flawed man who didn't do right by his family, and sometimes not his friends and employees, either. I can empathize with her pain. It seems like that generation were pretty self-involved and treated their kids like accessories rather than people, especially girls.

    • @Jim_L
      @Jim_L Месяц назад

      I agree with you about Frank being a flawed man. I, too, love his music, but after reading Moon's book, yeah, it's pretty apparent that he wasn't the perfect human being. He sort of reminds me of the "appeal to authority" logical fallacy. I think people think that just because Frank is a musical genius that he must, therefore, be a genius in all other areas of life. But as we can see from Moon's telling, that's just not the case.

    Genius or high creativity doesn't mean that the person can't be fully present, as much as they are able to, for their kids. I think of the guys in Rush. While they were gone touring a lot over the years, they all spoke about being there, and really being involved in their kids lives, when they weren't having to tour or record. That's just one example, there are many other examples that can mentioned.

    It's a wonderful book. My wife and I are reading it together. We're closing in on the end. I can't recommend Moon's book enough. If listening to Frank's music makes you smarter, then I must be a genius. I've been listening to FZ's music since the 80s. I've logged thousands of hours of listening to Zappa's music. The vaccine does cause adverse effects. It's irrefutable and only now being recognised. The fact is the FF advocated their entire audience get jabs, that hasn't aged well. Media reports on Hawkins abusing himself and having a heart attack, maybe he would've survived had he not had the vaccine. His heart was double the size. That doesn't happen after a night of toxicity. A double sized heart would surely have caused some concern to Mr Grohl, the band, Hawkins family and his doctor. Something isn't right here.
