Fishing Lake Michigan Kings Early July 2024

When big fish are moving, so are we. Hooking up here, there, over there, down there, up there, underwear? We don't care how long we have to wait until something hits the poles because we'll be there. Isiah picks up his PB reel in from 17.5lb to 21.08, acrobatic coho, big steely's and full tilt wheelies on the way in, this video is pack of wildness. What’s up 16Ft Wonder family, the big lake big kings are starting to move in. Hunter takes a solo trip to Lake Michigan and lands 4 amazing fish. Struggling with twisted lines, meat rig tangles, and netting by himself, he still managed to get it done. if you read the description, it means that you are interested in our content, so there's no reason not to subscribe.

Nice on hitting that school. Quick question how are you rigging up two lure to one flasher?
@johnnychang9340 I sometimes run a slider, connects to the line when you have your pole attached to the rigger and since there's a bow in the line from the water pressure it doesn't go all the way to the rigger ball. But once it comes off the rigger, it slides all the way down to the flasher.
I also enjoy Chick-fil-A in the morning
@soruze227 That's what I like to hear
Jiggin' ain't for me either lol
@@timothyadams2454 glad we are on the same page
I had to like and subscribe. lmfao, you are hilarious, brother!! Cheers from ontario 😂
I'm glad you liked it, welcome aboard.
I made a gaff with three treble hooks tied to the end of a net pole with 100lb braid. That thing grabs kings outta the water like an osprey catches trout. It's my goto solo trolling tool instead of a net. Highly recommend giving it a go. The trebles each have two hooks facing out and the third hook goes around the end of the pole and in, that way the hooks can lay flat and hang on to the fish, and you can also tie them on tighter. Yes, the gaff was made in desperation when my net went overboard in the middle of an outing, but I promise it works so well it's now my goto for solo fishing.
Very creative. If I ever get sick of losing fish from the net, I'll be coming back to this comment
Im going out next week probably out of south haven. Its the closest port to me. You killed it man.!
@preacherfrompontiac9714 appreciate it. Good luck out there and stay safe
ur way to funny bruh
@@egirlsean thank you
Awesome video dude. I looked up the history on this island and WOW. Do you still hangout with those other fellers?
Sure do, just extremely hard for all of our schedules to match up.
Where are you fishing out of

Wow man. Love your content
@preacherfrompontiac9714 really do appreciate it
🤘🏼
I haven't fished out of Whitehall much this year, mostly Holland and Muskegon. I'm really hoping I can get out this weekend. Would you ever want to come out on my boat and show me some of your skills? I fish on a 22' Apex Quest Tritoon, so there's lots of space.
I don't have the best skills when it comes to salmon fishing. But I always go by west to east first to find the depth of water the fish are, then north to south second with a slight zig zag to stay in the relative water depth once you find them. I change out lures every 30 - 45min if nothing happens. These fish can be very unpredictable, so if something isn't working change it. I would be down to fish with some new faces, but I got some friends and family to bring out off camera first. We can talk more if you like by going to the channel description and grabbing the Facebook link there to our Facebook page.
Nice man! I'm from saugatuck mi
I don't know if u have another channel, but the quality, content and everything you do is so professional, keep this up and I'm sure you'll grow and grow.

Glad you enjoyed
I head up to Manistee Sunday for some solo fishing and camping for few days. Hope the fishing stays hot. Great vid.
@Highway-uk7md I know people have come back in with limits of fish. Water has been warm, so they've been out a little farther, it seems. Good luck, and stay safe.
@@16ftWonder Thanks I just bought a self inflatable jacket. Open seat in my boat if your board lol
@Highway-uk7md good investment on the self inflatable life jacket, I always try to wear it when I'm solo.
@@Highway-uk7md I live 20 min from the stee I’ll fill that seattt🙏🏼
How deep? I launch out of South Haven
@preacherfrompontiac9714 started at 60ft - 80ft in the morning, then later in the day I went out to about 150ft of water

Great stuff man
Hilarious!
Glad you liked it
How long are those flasher leaders?
About 4ft
Some might be shorter because I have to cut the line once in awhile to get the nicks out of the line
Yep.
Is that a tracker superguide v16?
@@julianojanuario4012 it sure is
@@julianojanuario4012 I just have a board that goes across the boat with downrigger mounts on it. I then just use clamps to actually hold the board to the boat.

That was a rough netting job the 2nd fish. Glad you guys landed it though.
@Iambaxpe_ tell me about it, need to set up a class to learn how to net fish.

You guys had me laughing the whole time until the mayflys showed up 😬
It was ridiculous, went back to camp to have late night tacos over the fire, and the Flys were getting in our food. Picked them out as much as we could, no doubt that we ate a handful of them that night.

@@16ftWonder thank
I thought you were steering from the cooler at first 🤦♀️
Haha thats crazy!
Nice job guys, glad to see your back at it!
Let's gooooo
Just stumbled across this video. Your hookup ratio on your downriggers will sky rocket if you leave it in the holder when it pops and reel as fast as you can until you're solidly connected to the fish, THEN remove it from the holder. It is a night and day different on your hooksets. Good luck and tight lines dude.
I've seen lots of other people do that but never thought about it that way. I'm definitely gonna have to give it a try this spring.
I have also trolled for Brown and Rainbow solo in a small bass boat on Jocassee Lake, It is exciting but tough...but what a thrill
What are the chances thats a Smith & Wesson m&p shield? Sweet action man those fish were fired up! Steel time 🤞🏼
Sure is a S&W M&P 9 Sheild with special ammunition for those bear. Would love to link up with you and shoot a video, would be an awesome collab.
Nice work looks like a lot of fun regardless if you net them or not!
Nice job guys, look like a lot of fun!!
