Didnt bring a lighter, I brought my matchbox, feeling every wave because boats dont have shocks, got bit by so many mosquitos I think I have smallpox. Fishing Lake Michigan Kings Early July 2024

When big fish are moving, so are we. Hooking up here, there, over there, down there, up there, underwear? We don't care how long we have to wait until something hits the poles because we'll be there. Isiah picks up his PB reel in from 17.5lb to 21.08, acrobatic coho, big steely's and full tilt wheelies on the way in, this video is pack of wildness. Nice on hitting that school. Quick question how are you rigging up two lure to one flasher?

    • @16ftWonder
      @16ftWonder 27 дней назад

      @johnnychang9340 I sometimes run a slider, connects to the line when you have your pole attached to the rigger and since there's a bow in the line from the water pressure it doesn't go all the way to the rigger ball. But once it comes off the rigger, it slides all the way down to the flasher.

    I made a gaff with three treble hooks tied to the end of a net pole with 100lb braid. That thing grabs kings outta the water like an osprey catches trout. It's my goto solo trolling tool instead of a net. Highly recommend giving it a go. The trebles each have two hooks facing out and the third hook goes around the end of the pole and in, that way the hooks can lay flat and hang on to the fish, and you can also tie them on tighter. Yes, the gaff was made in desperation when my net went overboard in the middle of an outing, but I promise it works so well it's now my goto for solo fishing.

    I haven't fished out of Whitehall much this year, mostly Holland and Muskegon. I'm really hoping I can get out this weekend. Would you ever want to come out on my boat and show me some of your skills? I fish on a 22' Apex Quest Tritoon, so there's lots of space.

    • @16ftWonder
      @16ftWonder Месяц назад

      I don't have the best skills when it comes to salmon fishing. But I always go by west to east first to find the depth of water the fish are, then north to south second with a slight zig zag to stay in the relative water depth once you find them. I change out lures every 30 - 45min if nothing happens. These fish can be very unpredictable, so if something isn't working change it. I would be down to fish with some new faces, but I got some friends and family to bring out off camera first. We can talk more if you like by going to the channel description and grabbing the Facebook link there to our Facebook page.

    Just stumbled across this video. Your hookup ratio on your downriggers will sky rocket if you leave it in the holder when it pops and reel as fast as you can until you're solidly connected to the fish, THEN remove it from the holder. It is a night and day different on your hooksets. Good luck and tight lines dude.
